Eagle Valley Motors - My new car!

I appreciate all the hard work and follow up Ryan did with me to ensure he got me a good vehicle and wasn't just pushing to make an easy sale... The shop out in Carson City for Eagle Valley sucks though. They don't answer the phone, they don't update clients, the misquote things. The service provided here will ensure that I don't use them for any issues with my vehicle, it's a joke and a waste of time. Forget saving money or trying to support the company that I bought the car from. They're the worst.

I almost purchased a 2013 Subaru Impreza advertised at 91,499 miles from Eagle Valley Motors. After…read morerunning the Carfax myself, I found a "Potential Odometer Rollback" warning. The history showed 65,292 miles in November 2023, 167,827 in July 2024, then 68,282 on an August 2024 emissions inspection. None of this was disclosed during the sale. The salesman, Toby, was extremely pushy about payment. He insisted we pull cash from an ATM, rode with us, and became frustrated and rude when I chose a money order and a wire transfer instead. We declined the dealership's financing and extended warranty. We never took possession of the vehicle. We canceled the money order and wire, returned the key, and issued a formal written cancellation. The main reason we walked away was the undisclosed odometer discrepancy. The high-pressure payment tactics made that decision easier. If you shop here, run your own vehicle history report and do not let anyone rush how you pay. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

Exactly 1 week later the engine light came on for the catalytic converter. I called and let them know and they said to bring the truck in the following week. When I picked up the truck, the mechanic said that he put in a bottle of Rislone and drove it to Reno and back and that should have fixed the issue.. this is where I started thinking my purchase here was a mistake as the mechanic lied to me saying that he paid $60 for the Rislone. Even the most expensive places in town sell it for under $30.. but hey, I wasn't being charged for it, so I brushed it off. After that the truck seemed to be running ok until exactly 1 week later and the engine light came back on for the same thing. I call them back and they said I could bring it back in, but I would have to pay this time... why should I pay for something that they claimed to have fixed? Not to mention the engine light coming on for the same thing twice in the 3 weeks I've owned the vehicle. Putting in a bottle of cleaner and resetting the engine code is not a fix. So the lady says she'll talk with the owner and call me back the next day..so far, no call back from anyone. At this time I would not recommend this car lot to anyone. Also, if this doesn't get taken care of soon, I will call the BBB to report them.

After owning the car no less than two weeks, I was quoted $2,200 of work to be done, on a car I paid $20,000 for. I called AJ and he refused to make things right with replacing the oil gasket, and he wouldn't even offer to replace the tires. The only agreement we could come to was that we split the cost of tires, and he quoted me $300 to split the tires which I agreed. Today he called me, quoting me double, close to $600 for getting the tires, make me pay $600 for his mistake. I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I strongly advise anyone who reads this to avoid this business. Not only is the owner breaking the law by selling me a car with tires that are 9 years old, he endangered my and my families well being and safety, so he can make more of a profit. This man and business is unethical, avoid at all costs. I deeply regret buying a car from Budget Auto Sales.

King's Auto Outlet - Some pictures are only worth 2 words: do NOT. You hear about snake salesmen, here's one for real!

See, here's the thing: anytime a person buys a car, and especially a female, they just don't want…read moreto drive off with a piece of junk that dies 500 yards away from the lot. Too bad that's such a sweet sentiment with no place in the real world of used car lots. Unfortunately for me, the car I purchased was only the second one I'd viewed and test-driven but my father, the guy I thought knew more than I did when it came to cars and their mechanics, convinced me it was "the one", ya know like if this was my future husband he'd be plain, a little beat up, old, poor, and about to die. (Quite the catch, right?) This is where I utter a rather inappropriate, although appropriate, expletive like F%*K. But hey, Brandon (the owner and chief salesperson) told me he'd give me a deal. We quibbled about the price for all of one minute (I got him to drop it 500 dollars, but I'm sure he made an easy $1,500 off of the transaction) and I drove off with my new (er, used) merchandise and not a "yippee" hand pump in sight. Not pleased with my new piece of mechanics but when you don't have much money to spend on a set of wheels, you settle for what you can get (isn't that just typical?). So somewhat content for all of a week and a few days until I had to fill the gas tank annnnnddddd the car didn't start. SERIOUSLY. I sat in the gas station for a minute and a half turning the key in the ignition trying to get the damn thing to start. It did but grudgingly. And I drove off hoping it was a one-time mishap (only sort of hoping, I knew it wasn't so I just had to wait until the next tankful of gas to test it again). Then, it happened again. Fill the tank full of gas and the damn thing doesn't start. OMG, I'm that girl from the ridiculous movie where she's screwed over and the snake salesman snicker with audience at her stupidity. F$*K. Not only that, but the "Cruise control" didn't work since day one, so there's the second tally on the WTH list. Oh wait, I'm not done. Third, my key FOB doesn't work and it'll cost $250 to get a new one. Thanks so F%$*#@G much. So what do I do, but bring it back to the dealer and plead my case? Brandon got riled up like a humiliated child and accused me of accusing him of knowingly selling me a car with a defect and blah blah blah. Long discussion short, I had my legal jargon all in a row and he knew it. After all, his associate sales guy told me that Brandon knew about the problem with my car and advised me to just "leave the car running when filling it with gas". Right. There's a reason that signs around the gas station say "Turn off Engine." Duh. And since he clearly didn't divulge the defect of the engine, it leads me to believe that he doesn't exactly check over his cars before he sells them, which is ILLEGAL. My advice? DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM KING'S AUTO OUTLET. DON'T. DON'T. DON'T. (Bold, italicized, underlined and the whole schebang.) *6 month later update: My car engine DIED. As in, the very engine broke to pieces and, if it was the rib cage of the person bursting forth with gory violence, you'd understand how incredibly HORRIFYING that experience was. SIX MONTHS. 6 MONTHS and my piece of shit car was DEAD. Thank you, King's Auto Outlet, thank you. If I was a truly aggressive person, I would have left that broken engine on the front porch with a nice red bow. (Unfortunately, that would just be a little too extreme. But one can daydream.)
