My husband and I originally bought our first vehicle from Eagle Valley Motors when our credit was limited and our budget was tight. At the time, they were willing to work with us, which we appreciated. The first vehicle we purchased was decent for a used car, though it did have some transmission issues. We understood that can happen with used vehicles. Later, as our family grew, we returned to upgrade to an SUV through the same salesperson. After several hours of paperwork and discussions, we agreed on a vehicle but had to drive all the way to Reno to pick it up. When my husband started driving it, we immediately noticed multiple issues: the tires were very worn (one even had a screw in it), the motor mount was damaged, and the vehicle shook when driving over 60 mph. The key we were given was not programmed to the vehicle, and the interior was extremely dirty. Even after the dealership took the vehicle back for repairs and detailing, it still wasn't properly cleaned. We brought these concerns to the salesperson and requested that the necessary safety repairs be completed before moving forward. Although the vehicle eventually went into the shop, we had to follow up several times. When we picked it up again, the key was still not programmed, and we were told we would need to pay about $100 ourselves to have it done. We were also never provided with the additional keyless entry key the vehicle requires. My biggest concern, however, was the financial side. When we purchased the vehicle in mid-January, we arranged a payment plan with the salesperson for the down payment since it was already very high, even after trading in our previous vehicle. After making our first payment on that agreement, we were suddenly told our payment increased by about $70 due to a "lien adjustment," which had never been mentioned beforehand. On top of that, we were asked to return just days after signing because the dealership made an error on the original contract and needed us to sign a new one. Overall, this experience involved multiple repair issues, unexpected costs, contract mistakes, and poor communication. We bought a car from Eagle Valley Motors in January, when we purchased the car PhilLIP Gettings our salesman and nephew to the owner, said the system was down and to Venmo him the first half of our down payment. $500. I had the worst experience with this dealership. I am not sure anything they said was true. I was given a 90 day limited warranty and they basically kept the car so long to do the repairs that the warranty expired before I could get everything "fixed" I was ignored when I asked for receipts or invoice of what was repaired. Lost of things were not included in the limited warranty even though the sales person used them as key point to why the car was more expensive than standard model. He said the double moon roof was one of those things. Guess what doesn't work and wasn't covered to be fixed. Since I purchased the vehicle I have had to pay to have everything they claimed to fix be fixed by I mechanic I trust. The only thing they fixed that hasn't had to be done by a trusted mechanic is the new windshield. They don't communicate with you and tend to have excuses if they respond at all. I am not a mechanic and it shows, car ran fine, nicely taken care of, I asked about their inspection and was told car did great, I believed. I am 3 months into this car that I love,but wish I'd had it inspected by a mechanic.The entire undercarriage is rusted out , repairs will be expensive, I emailed them once and got no response, .I'm not saying don't shop here, but be careful. I noticed that the heater wasn't working in the car, by trade I am a mechanic, but I work on semi trucks and trailers, so I tried to diagnose the problem myself. Well I couldn't quite figure it out so I called Phillip and he said bring it back to the car lot so he could look at it. He said if it was something simple like the blend door he could have it fixed quickly due to getting the parts down the street. If it was some that he was going have to send to the shop he would put us in a loaner while it was getting fixed. So hear we are sitting at the dealer ship watching Phillip run around like a chicken with his head cut off. He is trying to attend to his customers and us and being the only person here. Yes we did have to spend some here at the dealership but we came prepared with drinks and snacks. Phillip is an amazing person. I have had one of the worst experiences dealing with the Eagle Valley Motors team since January. If you thought your used car buying story was rough, read on. I came to EVM after months of looking at and researching different cars, thinking I could finally be able to purchase a vehicle from a family owned business close to me. I showed up to view a car they had posted on their site with their own pictures, only to come and find that the entire body and front of the car was damaged from a bad accident, not specified on their site. That's when I should have left.... I met with Ryan, as well as Sean from G&G garage (the mechanic shop that is strictly contracted by EVM), EVM's contracted mechanics and detailers; along with their GM Sean and Mary in the office. If you want to have the world's worst used car purchasing experience, have your contract negated, and be treated with utter disrespect-feel free to go to EVM and ask for Ryan and Sean. They are not/have not been willing to follow through on their contracted obligations and go as far as to make jokes/make fun of you when you try to schedule getting your car fixed. Will add full review ASAP. (Pics below are what was left on my windshield when I was finally able to get my car in after 3 WEEKS due to lack of communication when next day was promised.). Will post the pics of new scratches as well that appeared on my car after taking it to Sean at G&G, who had a horrible customer service attitude and talked about me in the garage to others and laughed at me....all because I wanted my car fixed...alas. These screws could have really hurt me, noticed by a second real mechanic that I took the car to after this horrid experience and was shocked by the fact that nothing was done, let alone detailing inside or outside the car. The only problem was the check engine light won't turn off but the car was fine. 2 weeks later the car breaks down. So I take it to a local mechanic in fernley. $8000 to fix. Tried to get the warranty was told by the mechanic, contaminated transmission. Now being sued. 10 out of 10, I don't. Recommend. This company and Credit Concepts (the loan company) are now suing me. I bought a 2013 Ford F-150 from Eagle Valley Motors. First off, it wasn't detailed ( dirty as shit ) and shortly after I bought it I discovered it had a shifting issue. It shifted to first gear on it's own while I was driving at 80 mph. I purchased an extended warranty so I called to make an appointment to have it looked at. I took it in and when I got the truck back the issue was not fixed. I have since found out there is a recall on the transmission for the exact problem I'm having with it. The extended warranty is now expired. This vehicle was sold to me with a pending recall that was never fixed. I recently called them to inquire about the problem and the recall issue. I was told because the trucks warranty has expired that this is my problem! I was told it's not up to them to fix safety issues! But it's okay for them to sell me a vehicle that has a recall on a transmission and it wasn't fixed prior to selling it to me? I see some liability issues here Eagle Valley Motors! Very shady company to sell a vehicle to someone without it being safe and legal to sell. This would being selling a "Lemon" of a car to a customer and flat out not caring! I was told it would be under warranty and to take to a shop of my choice. It was not covered. And eagle valley would not help with the expense. Batter was corroded. They did replace that. So me and my wife have been dealing with them since February and today June 29 20024 we're done with this place we will never buy a car ever again from them. We had a due bill set and May 2020 journey needed a new windshield because it was cracked I needed a new computer system and to fix the bumper that had a dent the first time we got our car back they just pounded it out and looked like shit. Then we waited and brought back in again, and the windshield got taken care of, but the rearview mirror was really loose on top of that we had to bring it back to get reworked for the mirror and the computer system got finally installed yesterday June 28. We went to go pick up our car back and the key remote doesn't lock or turn on the alarm, nor does it start the car with the push button start, you have to put the remote to the push push. It wasn't like that when we bought it but they said it was a battery issue the key remote bullshit because I went to Walmart put battery inside so I'm doing this place. Do not buy this place they do shitty work and they don't have any communication skills. Luis was starting to do but today he just pissed me off, no matter what you take a computer system out you take a battery out there always has to be a reset and he explained to me like I'm a stupid ass that there is no Auto Upholstery you take a seat out of the airbag light goes off. you have to go to mechanic and reset it for 80 bucks on top of the wheel tire had a hole in it. They patched it up. Still was leaking. Told me yesterday well, you're gonna have to buy a new tire well to me. That's a safety issue when you buy a car you should have good tires good engine good tranny all that stuff, I'm done. Do not recommend this place whatsoever. A couple of things I'd like to bring to light. Even though Eagle Valley has a lot of vehicles in stock they're not guaranteed safe. If you go through these reviews you will see more negative posts than positive. I do not know how company such as this one is still in operations other than being Sharks. I have had a ton of instances where people I know have had terrible experiences with their vehicles right after purchasing them. Now I know the "as is" rule, but this company likes to offer extended warranties and then not follow through with issues with the vehicle, always saying well the shop is backed up, or their shop people quit which should throw a red flag for any new person looking for a vehicle. As far as the buy here pay here aspect of buying a vehicle there is a bunch of other ones you could choose from. What I am wondering is how a company is okay with giving loans out on cars that can't even make it up the hill into Moundhouse, the amount of vehicles breaking down lately from this lot seems to be a lot more that survive. On my husbands vehicle we have done all the repairs because everytime we tried to get into their "shop" they were busy, or they'd have us drop off the vehicle and have it at the lot all day then call us and say oh sorry we couldn't get your car into today. Like why?! Why waste time like that and just contract out with other shops and share the cost. That way you get more customers vehicles actually fixed. Another incident was my best friends car, she bought a 2014 Dodge Avenger from them at the beginning of last year and 3 days after buying it, it blew it's head gaskets. I told her to take it back to EVM and tell them what I said and Sean said "oh no it's not your heads, its just the hoses to the radiator," they take the car in and then the shop calls her that evening and says "well, it's your head gaskets." Yup, we know.... so they proceeded to keep this vehicle for 60 days.... now my friend fell for the trap of extended warranty and wanted to utilize it to fix all the other things that were wrong with the vehicle which were not "normal maintanence", so it made sense to use it for the other major repairs. However, she could never get ahold of anyone to see how her vehicle was coming along until the person from the shop called her back and told her other parts that were broken needed to be replaced but it was taking a long time to get them shipped in and that's why the vehicle repair took so long. Now anyone who works on vehicles knows that when you look up the time it takes to replace and repair head gaskets on a Dodge Avenger on All Data it says 14 to 16 hours. So, what I am curious about is, why did they have it for 60 days and it still be in horrible shape?! This car had a broken motor mount after we got it back that wasn't broken beforehand, the car was smoking out of it's exhausts and it was still over heating which makes me feel like they didn't do the actual repair they were supposed to and when my friend kept trying to get the service records for the vehicle for her own records they kept ignoring her requests which is super suspicious... if you have nothing to hide, presenting your customer with proof of repair should not be that hard to hand over. My friend also tried many times to get the other items repaired by using her warranty and they kept telling her they were too busy or full or there was no shop workers or this excuse or that excuse... whatever new thing they could say.... then it turned into oh your warranty expired.... yeah... because you guys never called me back and you had my vehicle for 60 days out of this supposed 90 day warranty... so in my mind good customer report should be honoring the warranty after you give the car back. Especially after having it that long!!! I do not know what else to say other than the fact that this company is still in business is perposterous. They kind of remind me of our government, always stealing money from the low income people to fill the pockets of the greedy and all the lower class gets is stress and garbage. HAHA!
