At first we were a little skeptical because it was a very quiet town when we were traveling and upon walking in it just seemed like a good place to get ice cream. We we're looking for breakfast. I'm glad we checked this place out though because it ended up being a great experience with our kids! The decor is very nostalgic and the pictures were great to look at on the walls while we waited for our food. We sat at the bar stools and it all felt like a blast from the past experience. My wife, our friends and I wanted to give Carson's Store a try! We didn't get greeted immediately and stood for about 5 mins as no one instructed us to grab our own seats. My wife asked and they said we could sit anywhere. We did so and sat there for another 15 minutes. My friend went up to the counter to let them know that we were waiting and the young girl at the counter said they would be with us shortly. Another 10 minutes goes by and another family (same amount of people) we immediately greeted and sat. Their table was wiped and they were handed menus. Our table wasn't wiped and we received no menus and had to look it up on our phones. We ended up leaving as they took other orders for ice cream and despite being talked to twice they still didn't come over to even greet us. Not trying to play that card but my friends are both islanders and it didn't seem like they were welcomed there. The service was mediocre and had high hopes about the food based on the reviews. Our order came after others who came later than us. I ordered scrambled eggs and French toast. It says on the menu we have a choice on the type of toast to order but they only had one choice (sweet bread). Eggs were so bland like they cooked it using canola oil. French toast had a funky taste, like it wasn't cooked with milk and eggs. I had to ask for maple syrup as the server never gave me one when she brought the order. Woohoo! Glad to be the first to yelp about this most wonderful mom 'n pop shop that was started by a great great uncle in 1907. The Carsons sold it a couple of decades ago, and the current owners kept the original signs and countertop, which is awesome. It feels like stepping into 1957 when you step up and order a cream soda or an ice cream sundae. Great people, great conversation, and they have penny candy! I ate there 10 years ago and it was nice. I've tried 2 times in the past few weeks to stop in and they were closed or having a private party. Apparently it was posted on instagram but I don't use it. I checked their website and each time I was coming from 20 minutes away the site said they were open. Very disappointing to have someone lock the door in my face. read more

Don't miss breakfast in Noank at Carson's! What a secret gem. Just had the lobster spinach provolone scramble chuck full of tasty lobster. We shared a stack of light and fluffy blueberry granola pancakes - who thinks of granola in pancakes but was just a touch and so tasty! So delicious and what a great idea. Coffee was superb. We sat outside on the little veranda and socialized with local clientele and tourists alike. Stop in and try Carson's! Great way to spend some time in Noank. We were tourists passing through charming seaside Noank on the off off season of February on a weekday morning, so Carson's was lightly populated with a cast of relaxed and chatty locals not least of which included the lone waitress. The menu is composed mostly of breakfast staples with a few more creative elements such as my cilantro, tomato, swiss scramble sandwich thrown in.
