Dear Yelp, Just bought three drinks and a crumb cake here. Sat down to eat at the table inside which is connected to the larger gift shop. 3 minutes after paying and eating, an employee at the counter called out "Just so you guys know we are closed!". There were 2 other tables sitting with purchases. My husband responded with "So do we have to leave?" And was responded with a yes while we were mid bite. Anchor Mystic is a breakfast, lunch, and pastries spot located right outside of the Mystic Seaport Museum. There are some outdoor and indoor seating. They had a variety of pastries to choose from. We stopped in before visiting the museum. We needed breakfast and coffee. We came for cookies and a muffin which were good. The coffee was okay. Overall, a decent spot to get a quick snack though! read more

The staff was pleasant, professional and patient. The environment was clean and cozy. Food was priced just right and tasty.

I was hanging out in the staging area for the Mystic Irish Parade and had time to kill before the parade stepped off so my coworkers and I came across the street to check out Anchor. This is a great place to pick up breakfast, lunch or just a sweet treat and a beverage. It's located right next to the Seaport and has a nice outdoor seating area that allows you to enjoy the day. If you take your food to go and walk outside along the side of the building you will have a great view of the Mystic River. The staff is friendly. I went back and asked the staff working the counter if they could add another two flavor shots in my coffee and they were super nice and added the chocolate and caramel flavor shots in my coffee without any hesitation. The service was quick even tho they were busy. The owner even offered us a piece of crumb cake to try. That was really sweet of him. My crumb cake, my breakfast sandwich and my coffee were delicious. The owner came over and gave us a piece of warm crumb cake to try and it was excellent. Warming it up makes such a difference. It was buttery and just a delight! They have really nice lunches, and there really aren't many places to get just a simple sandwich with chips in Mystic. Their tuna wrap might be the best in town, and I especially appreciate the meatless options- Baja wrap is delicious and creative. Their coffee is good too. Prices are a little high, about what you'd expect from a cafe at a museum, but then everything in Mystic is expensive. And there's easy parking in the museum lot across the street. read more

I've been a member of the Seaport for years and tried this place a couple times after they opened. Food was lacking flavor however the counter staff was excellent. The owner attacked my review and me. When I mentioned the turkey breakfast sandwich had no flavor and was dry he said they didn't even have one on the menu. (They do, listed as The Admiral) He then accused me of not being a real customer (I have receipts from the restaurant saying other wise). After that the owner went on to say I was targeting them. Feel free to read the owners response to other bad reviews. They immediately accuse people of attacking them instead of actually taking the review for what it is. While the service and counter help were outstanding the owners poor attitude is more than enough reason to go somewhere else. Especially with over 20 amazing restaurants in town. read more

The food was bland, but very expensive for what they are giving out to their customers. Their was only 2 employees working here at the time with a major line that disappoints. The workers were very unorganized calling wrong names and giving wrong food. I waited 45 minutes for a plain toasted bagel with nothing on it. It was $4!!!! The chowder was like water and tasted artificial even though we are right next to the water. The seating area was very cramp and tight. The pulled pork sandwich lacked flavor and the pork was dry with no BBQ sauce what's so ever. If I can give this place a 0 star I will. The best part of this meal was the coke I purchased. I ordered a fish sandwich and when I took a bite of it I knew it was just sitting somewhere and then put on a plate and offered to me cold. I am sure a battered pice of fish is not supposed to be cold and like that. The inside of the restaurant was real nice and the crumble cake was good too, unfortunately the sandwich left a bad impression, someones not doing their job in there. read more

Don't miss this amazing gem in Mystic! Friendly and attentive staff, super clean inside and out, delicious sandwiches and pastries, and great prices. Pastries were so delicious they were gone before I could snap a picture. Make sure to get a peanut butter cookie or a chocolate chip muffin; don't deprive yourself, get both, totally worth it! Stopped in for Sunday breakfast - worst breakfast sandwich ever - bread so soggy it was almost like eating custard; eggs and sausage tasted old. Waited for coffee as was told coffee would be brought to table; finally had to go pick up at counter; coffee luke warm and more milk than coffee. Terrible experience. I asked for a sandwich and was told they didn't have the sandwich. The food is insanely expensive and both the chef and lady taking orders are disrespectful. If I were you I would take the 20 minute walk to McDonald's instead. When I finally got my food after a 20 minute wait it was terrible. My BLT which is the easiest sandwich to make was awful. Overall terrible experience with bad customer service, expensive prices, and bad food. read more

The BEST sandwich I have ever had! This place is seriously so adorable, clean, and inviting! Mark, the person that made my sandwich, was so friendly and helpful when making a selection from the menu.
