Super nice staff!, nice outdoor seating and the sandwiches are amazing:) but breakfast and the ice cream is also a must try!

I was hanging out in the staging area for the Mystic Irish Parade and had time to kill before the parade stepped off so my coworkers and I came across the street to check out Anchor. This is a great place to pick up breakfast, lunch or just a sweet treat and a beverage. It's located right next to the Seaport and has a nice outdoor seating area that allows you to enjoy the day. If you take your food to go and walk outside along the side of the building you will have a great view of the Mystic River. The staff is friendly. I went back and asked the staff working the counter if they could add another two flavor shots in my coffee and they were super nice and added the chocolate and caramel flavor shots in my coffee without any hesitation. The service was quick even tho they were busy. The owner even offered us a piece of crumb cake to try. That was really sweet of him. My crumb cake, my breakfast sandwich and my coffee were delicious. The owner came over and gave us a piece of warm crumb cake to try and it was excellent. Warming it up makes such a difference. It was buttery and just a delight! All in all 10/10 experience and will be back again .

Us sitting outside eating The Admiral (even though the owner keeps accusing us of not being customers)

I've been a member of the Seaport for years and tried this place a couple times after they opened. Food was lacking flavor however the counter staff was excellent. The owner attacked my review and me. When I mentioned the turkey breakfast sandwich had no flavor and was dry he said they didn't even have one on the menu. (They do, listed as The Admiral) He then accused me of not being a real customer (I have receipts from the restaurant saying other wise). After that the owner went on to say I was targeting them. Feel free to read the owners response to other bad reviews. They immediately accuse people of attacking them instead of actually taking the review for what it is. While the service and counter help were outstanding the owners poor attitude is more than enough reason to go somewhere else. Especially with over 20 amazing restaurants in town.

With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.

I was in Mystic on New Year's Eve morning, killing time in between food activities, when I saw…read morePasta Fresca & Piadina in a Yelp search result. Its grinders looked damn good. Since Pasta was in the name, I figured it might be more of a market than a grinder shop and I decided to visit. It was actually more of a grinder shop that sold some fresh pasta and sauces and things that you would expect a grinder shop to have. I honestly thought about walking out without buying anything, but I kept thinking about that awesome looking Italian Trio (basically like an Italian Combo) grinder. I decided to order a small, take some pics and a couple of bites, and save the rest for later since I had lunch plans. This grinder was my ideal Italian Combo. First off, the small was huge. Full size at most places. I ate it over the course of two days. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, cucumbers, provolone, Oil and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper, and Mayo. The three meats were pepperoni, Genoa salami and capicola. The bread was good, fresh and up to the job of holding the ingredients. There were about six slices of meats, but they folded them around the inside of the bun (cut on one side) so you were really getting about 12 layers in each bite. And the inside was stuffed with the veggies and other toppings. So stuffed that the toppings fell out as you were taking bites. But that was actually great from my perspective, because you could just pick up the fallen toppings and put them exactly where you were going to bite next. I've been to a lot of highly rated grinder shops in CT. I don't think I've had a better Italian combo. The ingredients were all great. It was a well constructed sandwich. You got bits and pieces of most of the stuff in each bite. Ingredients were in the right proportion. It was salty. Acidic. Juicy. Great contrasting textures. This was a text book Italian Combo Grinder. Now if you live near Mystic, getting a grinder from Pasta Fresca is a no brainer because you can take it home. If you're not from the Mystic area, there was a bit of seating. Seating may be hit or miss though. In any event, if you can figure out where you're going to eat the Italian Trio, you're going to love it. Can't believe I've never heard of this place. 5 Stars

They might be a tad bit under staffed cause we did wait a bit before someone got us a table and even to pay and get some of the bakery items was a bit of a wait, but it wouldn't stop me from going again. The food actually came out fairly quickly. The wife and I both got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and my son got the French toast. I will admit, when my wife wanted to come here I really wasn't in the mood for anything I saw on the menu. We were on vacation and we weren't having much luck with food options the whole time so I was just being picky. That all changed tho when food arrived because that sandwich was excellent and really hit the spot. And the fries.....if you like McDonald's fries, you will like these even more because to me that's what they reminded of when their fries used to be good. My son enjoy his French toast. Will definitely go back. Price was reasonable as well. Oh!! Almost forgot about the bakery items. We got a chocolate chip cookie, a macadamia nut cookie and my son wanted macaroons. The cookies were awesome and I guess the macaroons were too cause my son ate them all and wouldn't share

The service was okay while the food came out in a timely manner. I liked that some of the fish items listed the fishing vessel on the menu. Three appetizers were ordered which consisted of a beet pickled deviled egg ($4 each), chilled oysters (Half Dozen $18), and the local fluke crudo ($17). The egg had a crispy clam strip and espelette pepper. This was solid. I thought the clam strip was a little too overpowerful given the size of that and the egg. The pickled beet egg was interesting, and I liked how the filling was also under the egg, so the egg did not move. The Riverhawk oysters were fresh and tasty. The mignonette was simple and paired well. The crudo had an herb mayo, pickled ramps, kelp crisp, and pickled sugar kelp. This was alright. It seemed like fennel or a similar type of herb was used in one of the pickling items, which took over a little bit. The kelp crisp was nice and paired well with the fluke. For an entrée, I had the local scup a la plancha ($37). It came with Marshall Cove mussels, fondant potato, English peas, and a saffron emulsion. This was a nice sized portion. I thought the saffron emulsion was key and went together with everything else on the plate. The mussels were fresh again, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. It was a well-done dish, but the use of scup made it feel more modest, but maybe that was the point, so what do I know? I also tried the scallop dish that came with green crab crispy rice, chili crispy, and a garlic aioli. The rice was very crispy, and it reminded me of a traditional hibachi rice, but elevated. The scallops had a perfect cook to them too. For dessert, the oyster ice cream ($10) was tried. It had to be tasted when it was on the menu. It had a slight briny flavor, but nothing too overpowerful. The ice cream itself was very creamy with a nice texture. I believe Greek yogurt was used, which probably helped with the oyster flavor that was incorporated. Will I go back? Sure.
