Don't take your car here ! Save yourself. I got into a fender bender at the begenning of the month (may 5) it is now may 30 and I am just now getting my things out of my car. My first upset was when I dropped it off, there was some stupid issues that could have easily been worked out, but instead they were drawn out. I had to wait about 20 minutes just to see someone. It was ridiculous. Then, it took them two weeks just to assess the vehicle. Like I said it was a fender bender. No biggie,right? Well, after the two weeks. They decide to charge 5300 to fix the car. Granted, I have insurance, but that would mean that fixing it would cost more than what my insurance said my car was worth. I was shocked. I mean, I could have done it myself. Well. I decide okay. The insurance will replace it, no problem. This shop refused to release it to my insurance for whatever reason, something about my insurance not wanting to pay them for repairs. OF COURSE NOT! So I had to call, say I was me and tell them to release my car after I picked up my things. Yeah, real secure. They didn't ask for any verification over the phone or anything. So, I basically wasted my time. Then, I decide I'm going to come pick up my things from the car. The only thing I really have to pick up is my speaker box, two subwoofers, an amplifier, and a capacitor. All were put in custom. Well. After waiting 15 minutes for them to bring me to my car, he opens the trunk. And I kid you not my speaker box, amp, and subs were missing. His jaw drops. But not nearly as far as mine. It looked rampaged. Like someone who had no idea what they were doing stole it, they even left the capacitor in there. I am fuming at this point. Especially since I told them DO NOT TOUCH THIS UNLESS I AM PRESENT. Well. After 10 minutes of searching he finds it. My wires are all messed up and they amp is dirty. And I tell them I need to get the capacitor and Maria tells me that I was only allowed to get the speakers and that was it. What the hell? You must not know anything because it's a SYSTEM. It goes together. After having her watch over every single thing I did to MY car, I finally get everything I need. After this, I find out the reason my car was considered "a total loss" was because of frame damage. I looked, and she showed me "you see this scratch on the frame" haha . I've skinned my knees worse than that and you're considering my car totalled. Get out of here with that. And so, of course since I'm out of a car now, I'm waiting for a friend to come get me for 30 mins. Theres traffic so I say, don't worry I'll call a cab. As I'm carrying this huge box to the cab, Maria comes back out and says "ohh you should have told me! We have a shuttle service. But it's too late now we close in 15 minutes." So you're saying you haven't seen me here for the last 40 minutes. I will never. Ever. Go again to this place. Ever. They just want your money that's it. read more

I was dreading my 10am appointment today with the Geico adjuster at Robert's Auto on Ramona. I thought were the heck is this shady place? Found out it is just minutes from where I live and conveniently off Del Monte Ave. in Monterey. I pulled up to a glorious new looking establishment and walked in the double glass door to two friendly ladies at the reception desk. They sent me to a lovely office to the left where I met Erik. He was not sketchy at all and this place looked clean and organized. I showed him my car and the damages from a rear-ending accident nearly 5 months ago and in less than what felt like 5 minutes came back with a check for the damages. I was blown away. He was a great listener, had amazing customer service skills, very professional and thorough. He made such a good impression that if I end up fixing the bumper that I may in fact bring it back to Robert's instead of the couple other places that I got quotes for. He was that good. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating, not to mention they did a fantastic job on two bodywork jobs for my vehicle. I got into an accident in my Jeep, smashed up the front left corner, put a hole through the radiator, the works. When I called Geico they asked where I wanted to get the work done, and since I didn't know they recommended I take it here. Overall I am very happy with what was done. The car actually runs better now than it did before the accident, which my husband hates because he said it is rewarding my bad behaviour. Like I crashed on purpose, right. Anyways, I had to minus one star because it took longer than they said it would and when I got it back they had forgotten to order a new grill to put on. They were good about that though, ordered it and installed it as soon as it came. Also, they said that they had to replace part of the frame because it was bent? It's a Jeep! A friend rolled his Jeep no problem but I get in a less than 15 mph accident and it has to be replaced? I didn't fight it because it was going on the insurance anyways (and to back up Robert's the adjuster didn't fight it) but it seemed a little weird. In all, if I ever get in another accident I would take it back here no problem. read more

We brought our Passat here once for extensive body work and once for major engine work. On both occasions I had questions and issues about a few points and they answered all of them and took the time to explain it all and rectify the small issues left. They also pointed out a problem area with the CV boots being torn. I usually do all my own work but decided to pay for the timing belt change because it would have taken me more than 1 weekend. To be complete, the gal who coordinates the auto repair, although very knowledgeable about repair, has a bit to learn about seeing things from the customer's point of view. She wasn't impolite but just lacked that little extra everyone else there has had. They are ready to listen and deliver results including the owner who I talked to personally. He had no qualms about an issue and said to bring it in at our convenience to resolve it and that is what happened, they resolved it. Given the general mistrust consumers have with car repair places, I am confident to have found a place that is on a much higher level than most. read more

My SUV was in a huge accident causing the decimation of my hood. Robert's employees were courteous and sympathetic to me in my time of need. I literally came into the office after my accident crying. The woman who handled my claim hand walked me to the rental car representative and reassured me that all would be well. Me and my wife both took our truck and SUV after they had been hit by someone else. My truck had some side damage and the insurance tool care of everything, the front desk person was nice and the manager came out and looked at the damage and wrote me a quote, easy. They took my truck, drove me to enterprise down the road and made sure I got a rental car. 5 days later my truck was done and there were no problems. They detailed the inside and was very happy with the service. My wife's SUV went in the shop on 7th of October, got a rental car for her. It only took 2 days to fix, cleaned the inside and outside, the only problem she had was the inside area to do paper work was really loud because they are remodeling. The repair work was done well, took a little longer than expected, not really a big deal. However, I wasn't happy about the grease stains they made on some fabric on the inside of my car. I could see that an effort was made to remove them, so I'm certain they knew it happened, but they didn't own up to it. My wife's recent accident led us to receive recommendations from our insurance company to get our 2015 Volvo fixed by Robert's. Being that our car is so new, we had to wait two weeks for part to be special ordered. However, once the parts arrived, Roberts was able to complete all repairs in four days. The best part was the ease of completing all repairs. Once all parts arrived, I was given a call and our appointment was made. From there, my wife dropped off the vehicle at the appointed time and was able to transfer immediately to a rental car that Robert's arranged for us before hand. I then received periodic text messages updating me on the status of our vehicle coupled with regular phone calls. Once the vehicle was ready, I was able to quickly transition back to our vehicle while Robert's dealt with returning the rental. As far as the repairs, Robert's did and excellent job returning the car to like new condition. During the inspection, I even had the opportunity to speak directly with the manager who gave me pointers on how to repair the rock chips in the front bumper with the touch up paint the provided for me. No. This place staffs kids who delight in hijacking communication and blocking smooth transactions, the courtesy is there, but it's that sickly twisted Glee in messing up your life while you're forced to extract your vehicle from their clutches. Pretended they didn't read written instructions online. Passed portion of crucial messages. There's gossip and backstabbing going on amongst themselves, so they screw with the mature issue of your car. Don't put yourself in harm's way! The frustration and ridiculous blocking this place does ... Ugh... Who BLOCKS the tow company hired by your insurance? You are out money over and over and over while they deliberately hijack your day after day after day . In my humble and clear professional opinion... You're only going to get through the time wasted by them, by losing hundreds of dollars, and several painful headaches, you should have avoided this place. Oh / just a coolant they charge 58$ for. At cost they get it for about 3$. This is evidence of their decision to pad hike inflate the invoice. Don't be suckered. This is a calamity place to hurt you when you did not deserve their disturbed issues. Head games- odd bait and switch, dishonest and ripping off military insurance. Just avoid this bizarre twister place. I've had to threaten COURT just to get them to quit sending away the usaa tow people!!! Next day. They stole our keychain right off of the KEY!!! read more

This place is great! I had a small fender bender last month and my insurance company sent me for my estimate. The place is a little hard to find, and parking is a bit of a hassle at times. When I went inside, I was impressed! For an auto repair place, it was very clean and looks great! Everyone is very friendly, and there's so many different insurance agents there. I decided to get the repair done here as well, and man am I glad I did! The work done to my vehicle was great! When I dropped off my car that monday, I was estimated about 3-5 days. I ended up receiving a call that wednesday saying that my car was done and ready to be picked up. I'll definitely be coming back if I need any repair done to my car. Roberts is an excellent body shop. I took my badly damaged 2003 MBZ CL500 in for rear collision repair and it came back outstanding. The rear trunk had been repainted by the MBZ dealer 7 years before and the paint never quite matched. The dealer said the paint was near impossible to match. I was involved in collision accidents twice and both times were sent by insurance company to Robert's. Their service were excellent both times. First time they fixed my bumper damage on time as scheduled. Thanks to their great job, it looked like a brand new car! This time, I was involved in an accident in which the other party takes 100% liability but somehow in the middle of the process, the other insurance company delayed their deposit. Maria worked with me and guided me through the whole process including car rental related issues. Excellent customer service! And this time not only my car was fixed like new again, I got it back earlier than expected! Hands down the best repair shop ever!!!! I spent less than 15minutes total that is drop off, pick up, and paperwork. Rental car arrived when I did they tried to charge me an extra 10 dollars a day for a full size, Roberts on site rep walks over and authorized the car on spot at no charge. I did not have to deal with any one Roberts handled every avenue. Text message updates the works, upon pick up the front desk asked my name and within 10seconds the lady to her left hands her my folder all ready and said my car year make and model. I recently had a bad accident followed by surgery the next day. My car was taken to Roberts Collision and Repair due to the close proximity of my accident and it was one of my insurance company's preferred repair companies. I had never used them before. George stayed in constant contact with me about what was being done to my car. He initially thought it would take 2 weeks but the whole $9000 job was done in 4 days. I'll start with the bad (I was hovering between a 2 star and 3 star review). I took my car here for repairs, after which my car was good as new or so I thought. Less than a month later I took a trip about 8 hours away in which I had to cross some pretty desolate desert areas. Luckily, I made it to my destination, but just barely, before my problem light came on and I was warned that my vehicle was overheating! I was able to get it to a car repair shop, and the mechanic spent at least an hour checking it out after which he told me that whoever had done the repairs forgot to put a radiator clamp/clip on so the hose had come off and all the fluid leaked out! I was very lucky I didn't blow up my engine in the middle of the desert. I asked him if it was possible for the clamp to just fall off, and he said no, that it had to have been forgotten (side note: the mechanic was awesome and didn't charge me for his time, just for the coolant he replaced). So something very minor could have easily caused me major issues, and definitely took up some time out of my vacation for me to deal with. As for the good, the set-up of the shop with my insurance and the car rental was very easy. The shop communicated well and sent me updates by text, and I could check the status of my vehicle easy. Over all I won't be going back, just because I have to trust my car shop to not forget something as important as a radiator clamp! read more

Really didn't know where to go to get my significantly damaged Prius repaired, and took my chances since I didn't really know anything about their work. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job. We had to get some repair body work done in July of 2014 on our SUV (my wife's vehicle) and got four quotes from around town, including Robert's. Robert's was definitely in line with the other quotes (no more or no less) but was also an "approved" repair shop with our insurance company so we went with them. The repair was scheduled to take 3-4 days so we dropped the vehicle off Monday morning, as scheduled. Even though Maria, our repair representative, scheduled our vehicle for repair a week in advance the front desk as NO knowledge of our scheduled repair and it took them a good twenty minutes for them to find our information. Upon dropping of the vehicle, I signed my wife up for text alerts on the repair. She first received a text on Wednesday (Day 3 of a 3-4 day repair and two days after we dropped it off) saying the repair was finally underway. Since we were forgoing a rental for the week, she called Maria with concern that the vehicle would be ready by the weekend. Maria assured her that it would be ready by Friday and would call back with an update. She never did. On Friday morning of the repair week, my wife received another text saying our vehicle was ready. I went to pick it up and immediately noticed a few inconsistencies in the clear coat finish where the repair and repainting had taken place. I pointed these out to Maria and she took it back to detail for fixing, which they did. When I arrived home with the vehicle, my wife asked if the inside had been detailed. I said I thought so but wasn't sure (it did NOT look any cleaner then how we normally keep the vehicle, which is pretty clean). At this point my wife then noticed that a small, sentimental item (with no monetary value at all) was missing and a few other things in the vehicle were out of place (like they got bumped or moved while others were in the SUV). There was weird paint gunk on the leather steering wheel cover and dirt smudges on the tan leather seats. We spent the following day cleaning the vehicle looking for said missing sentimental item as well as thoroughly detailing it (the way Robert's should have done). You don't really expect to get your vehicle back from a repair shop only to have to clean it. During the cleaning we also noticed numerous other inconsistencies in the clear coat finish where the repair had been done. My wife called Robert's the next business day and spoke to the owner (Robert). We acknowledge some responsibility for the missing sentimental item (if it was that important we should have removed it, right?) but also expressed that we have had the vehicle into other shops for oil changes, new tires, etc and NEVER had anything missing before. He was very apologetic and said he would be meeting with the detailing department to discuss the situation. He was also ADAMANT in saying he would call her back either way to let her know if they found the missing sentimental item after searching through the shop vacs. He NEVER called back. Not a big deal if he himself hadn't insisted he'd follow up. What a poor way to do business. I would NOT recommend Robert's and will be discussing the dissatisfaction of the repair experience with our insurance company. If we had paid the full price of the repair, not just our deductible, I would be livid and demanding a refund. The text update are nice but only if they relay accurate information. The detailing department is a joke. The overall quality of the work is seriously questionable and the customer service from Maria and Robert (the owner) is sub par at best. Such a disappointment. Take your business elsewhere. read more

First and foremost I thought that since my insurance contracted with this repair shop, that I was in good hands since they trusted them I could. Well boy was I wrong when I went to pick up my truck they tried to cover up a gash out of my side mirror with touch up paint instead of replacing it, then there was some type of solution all over my car. Save the best for last they missed my truck having a bent axle then they allowed me to drive around on it for 2 weeks and informed when it went back in that it was unsafe to drive. When asking how they missed it there reply was they just don't know. I do not recommend this shop as you just do not know what they may miss and missing something could cause not only damage to your car but possibly to a person as well. read more

George went above and beyond with his helpfulness and advice, and gave a "no BS" approach to applying practical repair with DIY tips on maintaining the rest of my car. I took my car here when I got into a small accident--my insurance recommended this place, so that's why I chose it. The body work was great!! My car has a custom metallic red color, so it's not that easy to match. However, they did it!!! It did take two tries, but it was done!! My car came back to me looking new.
