I'm not a fan of getting my car repaired due to the down time and the headache of dealing with the insurance. I had to get my car repaired due to DPD hitting my car when it was parked. Since I had to go through my insurance and get a reimbursement, my insurance worked directly with CARSTAR as a recommended body repair shop. It was easy to schedule an appointment, get my estimate, and drop off my car. They kept me in the loop on the estimated time of completion through text, and my car was ready two days before the estimated completion date which was great. The ladies at the front desk were polite and helpful and my car looked good as new. They gave me an itemized receipt, and got all th back end stuff done with my insurance. Overall not a painful process and it went smoothly for me. read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience and highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. They wasted 2 weeks inspecting my car and negotiating with my insurance company and then said that they could not insure the work. The sales people were super short and hesitant to go over the proposed scope of work and Jeremy, the manager, took zero responsibility and is utterly incompetent. I had used this body shop before and had a good experience. This experience was actually hideous. They also tried to collect money from me that the other insurers company had paid them. Sorry that you made a clerical error, but I was not at fault and that company was paying your directly. They chipped my mirror, said that they'd do an estimate to fix it, and put a shoddy part on that is already falling apart 6-weeks later. Don't expect when you put in a complaint ticket that you'll ever hear back from them. You'll be in a maddening loop with this body shop regarding getting a new estimate to pay for damage that they caused. read more

Had a neighbor hit the front bumper of my car, after figuring out who it was,got the ball rolling on getting an estimate for the damage. Had farmers connect me with Carstar west as a reliable option. I've used the highland south location, so i was prepared for great service. Great service is something the ladies that work in the front office don't know anything about! I had gotten an appointment within a week, i didn't know that was a red flag, "because they book out 4 weeks in advance"....so that's not possible. They looked me up and down and then moved their eyes back to their screens. Is it's because I'm a woman? Is it because I'm hispanic? It had that kind of vibe behind it. "So what do you want us to do about it?" "We don't have anything in the books for you!" I just left! Got a call back after i contacted the booking system i went through. "We were looking at the wrong schedule, we can get you in, in a few weeks" NO THANK YOU! The facility is super chaotic and the cars are basically on top of each other. I'd recommend Carstar Highland South, and I'm going through more hoops to go there, because this place will never get any business of mine ever!! read more

I obtain their information from my State Farm website. When I called, they shared that they are only taking auto claim only. As a person in accounting, that type of claim only repair could lead to loss business. It was explain that many auto repair shop have this type of lead time. I guess these business are having trouble not being able to repair cars in a reasonable time. So, if I have only one car and I need to have my car fix that is not a insurance claim and I'm out of luck. I guess I won't be able to get to work because they only accept insurance claims. Worst company ever. Had an 2:00 pm appointment, drove an hour to get there with my wife following, and they wouldn't take my vehicle. Some weird claim that their scheduling system doesn't work and even though I had texts and emails from them confirming the appointment, they wouldn't honor the appointment. Strange and infuriating. Very happy with this business! My car got hit the first day I moved to Denver. I took it here based on reviews & location. Although repairs did take a little longer than anticipated, they were very communicative & professional throughout the whole process! They originally gave me a date that everything would be finished, but ended up going over by 2 weeks. Due to this, they also refunded me for the extra days I had to have my rental (because I was paying out of pocket). Would definitely recommend! They gave me an estimate listing parts needed by name and number, all original from Ford. They erred and ordered a wrong part, they took delivery of that part, they opened the box, they painted it only to then realize they listed and worked on the WRONG part. They took no responsibility, lied, tried to blame me or Ford, when I complained they spoke over me raising their voices, will not own the mistake and have been rude and non-cooperative to solve the issue costing me $2,000 extra as the insurance (Geico) will not pay twice for the wrong part and then for the right one. This is the most professional company I have ever worked with. I was so upset that my Subaru legacy was hit a week after I bought it. In the midst of dealing with my insurance company AMICA (I would not recommend) not responding and extending the time on the repairs of my car, Kristina from CARSTAR fought for me. She called the insurance company numerous times for me and coordinated with the Subaru dealership. I believe had she not done that, AMICA wouldn't have covered the additional repairs. Even the dealership told me Kristina is amazing and she gets things done. In addition, CARSTAR let me know the entire time my car was in the shop, what they were doing and when my car would be ready. I had a small door ding I wanted fixed and stopped by one day to get an estimate. No one was getting an estimate at the time, and I just wanted a ball park, but this rude representative treated me like I had offended her and all their precious procedures. Today I had another need for a repair and tried to book online. An 8:30 appointment was available the next day, but I couldn't get it to take, so I called. Was told earliest appointment was weeks away, that the online appointment thing didn't work, and again felt like nobody cared. Can't comment on their work as I'll never approach them again. Only go to this place if you'd like a half assed job and want to keep coming back to have the repairs done that should have been done in the first place. I am utterly disgusted at the quality of work and the due diligence of this company. After my car was in the shop for two weeks, this place not only installed a damaged light onto my car but claimed to have done a full body inspection when they did not repair all the damages related to my accident. The second time I took the car back they found the weight on a tire was missing and replaced the parts which they had not before. After this fix they claimed to have done an alignment on the car, the wheels were bent when I got them back. Tell me how do you do an alignment with bent wheels? I feel as though I have been lied to or the company is so poor at their job that no one should return here. read more

to being let me just say that the only reason i had to come to this shop was because a negligent driver who hit me had insurance(thank god) and made me go here. that being said; you cannot make an appointment here- the insurance company has to do this for you. ** how do i know this? well the claims adjuster in charge of my claim made the appointment for fifteen minustes after our phone conversation about the accident- i needed an appointment for the next day- so needless to say i called to verify the appointment- and the call taker told me i had to call the claims agent so that they could reschedule me - that was pretty schetchy- what kind of body shop only does insurance claims? now ive never been to this shop before, be aware it is not in a necessarily "good" side of town, it is getting better but with the strip club accross the street the prostitutes walking the block with the hourly and weekly rate motels on either side of this shop- i made the decision not to let my girlfriend pick up the car when the estimate was completed. now for the fun part: claims adjuster informs me that there is not avail. times that week- so my estimate was pushed to a week out; understandable- im very patient..... so i drop off my car and ask them to please call me when the estimate was completed- i work during the day so it would be convienient for me to have my cousin pick up the vehicle- well, it all wouldve worked out beautifully but i got no call to tell me the car's estimate was ready- so the next day i decided to call: evidently they couldnt even find my paperwork- they put me on hold to "find" my car.............. now for the real fun part - so i decided to walk from colfax and quebec to this shop and pick up my car (i had to take a bus to colfax and quebec - no ride-) on my walk i was given a few dirty looks and even offered some crack- i dont smoke crack so i opted out and said "no thank you" - at least the employees could find my paperwork on this visit and i was in and out very fast. needless to say i dont think i will be venturing this stretch of east colfax in the too distant future.... read more

There is a POSSIBLE THEFT RING at this autobody shop, but I cannot be 100% sure. After receiving autobody service, my vehicle was likely returned to me without its spare tire. Unfortunately, I didn't identify the stolen tire (a missing tire is not that obvious--which of course makes it the perfect theft) until two days later when backing my truck up an inclined driveway, and hearing the chain swinging. Note: After lowering the spare tire, this thief cranked the chain back up underneath the truck to conceal the theft. Upon bringing it to the attention of management, they were very quick to deny all responsibility and quoted the fine print in the contract that obviously states (although I never read it): 'Car West is not responsible for anything including any of your car parts that are stolen while your vehicle is in Car West's possession'. The management as Car West was a little too quick to deny all responsibility. Their response completed in a matter of mere seconds, suggests that the denial was a routine or canned response for this office. They weren't even the slightest bit taken back, and weren't interested in a single detail regarding the possible theft. Management further stated that the only thing that gets stolen at this location is wiper blades, which of course, suggests a minor theft problem in itself, and is just a little bit weird. WARNING FOR YOU: This autobody shop is in a less-than-desirable part of town. After my experience, I would suggest that you remove all 'removable' items prior to leaving your vehicle at this site. Such items would include: spare tire (even the one in your trunk), car jack, wrenches, hub caps, Apple phone cords, registration, insurance documents, keys to your home, garage door opener, special lug nuts, external GPS, and any other electronic equipment, etc. If it's not welded (bolted down might not be good enough), you need to remove it. Based on Christina's quick denial of all responsibility, I would also suggest that you take a high quality detailed video of both the outside AND inside of your vehicle when dropping your vehicle off (not just the damaged areas). Moreover, I would also suggest that you take a picture of the odometer to document the mileage. Of course, given their fine print, none of this will do you any good. DETAIL WARNING: Car West will send your vehicle out for detailing (probably located nearby in the same bad part of town) which, of course, is another opportunity for your spare tire, and all other items, to get stolen. Then again, their detail shop did a great job. WARNING FOR TOYOTA OWNERS: If my truck tire was stolen by an inside person at Car West, you might want to be particularly cautious of your similar Toyota (i.e. same tire size) as they might be looking for a set of four tires. PARTS WARNING FOR YOU: There is POSSIBLE INSURANCE FRAUD conducted at this body shop. Car West claims to have replaced my expensive head lamp assembly when the original head lamp had no visible damage from the accident. Moreover, Car West failed to return the old head lamp per my explicit request, and failed to provide a receipt for the alleged new head lamp suggesting there was never any head lamp damage, and therefore no new head lamp. Otherwise, I was very impressed with their communication, and the work was a good quality. read more

I wish I was able to give them 0 stars! Carstar should not be trusted with any vehicle in their lot. My 2012 Kia Forte was left at West Carstar Auto Body for repair last week June 12, 2013 at about 9:00am, today June 17, 2013 at about noon I was more than excited to have my car back. To my surprise as Dale showed me the work he had done I noticed that my hood was damaged, I asked him what had happened he said, "That was there when you brought it in" I looked at him taken back by what I was hearing, I drive that car 24/7 I think I would know if I had wrecked into something and this was not the case. I am far from satisfied by him & Carstar, I feel disrespected for trying to be made out as a fool I can guarantee that the damage happened while they worked on my car. This is this is the first and last time I will let any auto shop besides the dealership touch my car as a customer you are suppose to trust businesses such as this one to take more than good care of their your belongings, no respect here it's obviously all about making money. read more

I was referred to West Car Star by State Farm Auto Insurance after having some body damage to my car the back driver side door and quarter panel. After being called over a week later than they said that the work would be done, I was super excited to finally have my car back. I thought I would arrive and that things would be perfect, but not only did my car look different on each side, the body work was completed inaccurately, rubber was disconnected on the inside of the door and not properly assembled. After commenting on this, I was then was shocked that the company's pink marker that they use to mark up the outside of the vehicle was all over my cream colored seat belt. The customer service rep did say that they would fix everything, and agreed that the job was sloppy and that it would be fixed and ready to go the next day. The next day I showed up and I felt a strange vibe and realized that they were trying to distract me by pointing out other things about my car (like dings from the seat belt that were created by the seat belt getting caught in the door...pointing at things that had NOTHING to do with the repair and basically just a distraction for me not to look at my seat). The reason that they tried to distract me was so that I wouldn't look down at my seat to notice that there was a shiny oil spot on my cream colored leather seat, obviously from whatever they had used to clean the seat belt OR from a person with oil on them sitting on my seat. After trying to scrub it in front of me for 20 minutes and it still wouldn't budge, they tried to tell me that I would have to come back later to have it fixed when they could get someone in to fix it. I declined and said they needed to let me stay in the rental car until the stain was removed. They tried to force me to take my car, even though the job wasn't finished. I called State Farm, who spoke with West Car Star and I left in the rental which would be paid for by West Car Star, as it should. I didn't like or appreciate that I had to fight to keep the rental until the job was COMPLETE. A COMPLETE job means that my car is returned to me in the condition it was prior to trusting them with my car (with body work completed, of course). I went to pick up my car when it was finished and the stain was removed, only to find that they once again are forgetful of the smallest things, such as putting on the air cap to my tire. I had to request that they put an air cap on and then as we bent to put on the air cap, I realized that they missed a few spots of paint on the inside trim on my wheel barrel. The guy pretended that he didn't see what I saw, but anyone else that has looked it since I left sees what I see. In the end, I guess it is worth it to have a spot of color different than the rest of the car, just not to have to deal with explaining to them how to do their job correctly. read more

I really appreciate Car Star West! My son was involved in a hit and run that did $6000 damage to my 2012 Rav 4. Car Star did an estimate, contacted my insurance company, and started the work almost right away. They had promised to finish it within a month, it was actually done in about three weeks. They called regularly, several times each week and then almost daily at the end and updated me on the progress of my vehicle. I picked up my car today and it looks terrific, as good as new! I could not have picked a better place to work with. I went in for my estimate, they were quick and very knowledgable. I made an appointment to drop off my vehicle and was called prior with questions regarding back ordered parts. Their communication was top notch! I dropped off my vehicle and had a rental waiting just as promised. They sent me updates via email and called me regarding all progress including a delay related to additional damage they found. I have not received customer service so great in many years. Truly a pleasure to work with them, especially in a not so pleasant circumstance. We bought a 2014 Subaru Forester in November and 3 weeks later someone fishtailed into the rear quarter panel and axle causing about $5000 worth of damage. Our loss adjuster from Shelter recommended we used Carstar as they are a preferred supplier for Shelter and do excellent work. We just got the car back earlier this week and it looks brand new. Not only did they do an excellent job with the repair, they kept us informed frequently with progress on parts and the repair. They were at great pains to ensure we were involved in the process and every employee we met was pleasant, helpful AND informed. The whole experience was excellent and Kristina Steinberger was superb in handling the relationship. No one wants to have their car smashed up and be without it for a few weeks, but if you do - these are the people to take care of everything for you! read more

In the course of the past three months I have had occasion to need their services, twice. I have found them to be honest, dependable, timely, affordable, and kind. They did an excellent job of finding parts for my eleven year old Odyssey to keep costs down since the major portion of the repair would be out of my pocket. When I was hit two months later, I requested that the vehicle be taken there. Kristina was extremely kind and helpful, understanding that I was in shock. She set me up with a rental car, alleviating my aggravation that day. If the vehicle hadn't been totaled, I would have had them repair it.
