DO NOT BUY FROM CARVANA! I realize the title is an absolute. Let me explain why I used the title. On Jan 28th we traded a vehicle and purchased a vehicle from CARVANA. This was our 11th purchase with them since they started. We have been loyal and until this last purchase have been impressed with their support, the compassion and professionalism of the people we have worked with. I would go as far to say some have been stellar and very impressive relative to solving problems and challenges over the years. This all changed on January 28, 2022. The Jan 28th 2022 purchase put an end to our long-standing impression of the company. A couple facts: 1. Vehicle they delivered was leaking oil and needed $10,628 of work and wasn't safe to drive. 2. Our trade has still not been paid off after 50 days. 3. We attempted to replace the initial purchase with 3 other vehicles which all made it to the hub and the day of delivery and hours before the scheduled delivery time we would receive a text letting us know the vehicles were undeliverable. From engine lights, strange screeching noises, brakes not working, to we don't know what's wrong but we have to get something fixed. We tried! We tried hard. Made compromises on what we wanted and tried so hard to buy a car. We were told multiple times that our trade "should have been paid off and that they don't know why treasury hadn't paid it off yet". I even spoke with our current lender and they confirmed that CARVANA had requested payoff info as late as March 8th. The lender has serious concerns and will look into this once the payoff is completed. We provided Capital One all the images, emails and texts so they are fully aware of the experience. Since we were essentially down to one vehicle we had to use Uber as a second vehicle to do the things we had to do while one of us was working. We were told "don't keep track of the receipts, I don't want to add them up so I can just send $750 to compensate for the hassle and travel". We agreed and felt that was fair and would cover our expenses since the vehicle they delivered on 1/28/22 was not drivable. It just sat in our garage and dripped oil. It took them 6 weeks to finally come and pick up the car with a tow truck. And at this point were told by Executive Resolution people (2 different "Case Managers") that they would follow through with their commitments, get our trade paid off, and do what is right. One even apologized profusely in email about our experience and could not believe this had happened to us. We learned from a prior purchase to record calls with CARVANA because they had previously promised us $250 for delay hassles and frustration. This was never sent. We have tracked every name, date, time, and notes from every conversation and have every conversation recorded. My attempts to speak with them ended after being yelled at and berated during our last conversation with Lena from Executive Resolution team. She was rude, dispassionate, and indifferent. She even threatened to return our trade during the call. We could not believe the posture and rudeness expressed to us. This was the same person that 10 days before said she would send us $750 for our transportation cost for Uber and our hassles during the purchase. In order not to get too granular, their vehicles rarely arrive clean. They rarely arrive on time. From watching vehicles go from purchase pending back to inventory, appears they have about 25-30% of their vehicles declined upon delivery and are returned back into their inventory. Our trade has showed sold for the past three weeks. We had been loyal. We had purchased 11 cars from them. We had recommended them to family and friends and I feel horrible about that. Simply put. You can not trust them. They may not follow through with promises. They may discreetly add conditions when wrapping up calls that are not even connected to the promises made earlier in calls only to come back later and trap you into being honest with them just to say "ah-ha, got you". It's so sad to see what CARVANA has become. They are no longer a caring, trustworthy, or capable I feel. Instead they are dismissive, disingenuous, and a disrespectful company. I miss the old CARVANA. Don't buy from them. Go to a local dealer. Put up with their ridiculous games they play. Spend hours you don't want to spend. But, at least, at the end of that horrifying experience you will have the opportunity to buy a quality vehicle and leave feeling exhausted but happy the next morning you walk out and get in your new car. If you buy from CARVANA it may become a nightmare that 51 days later we are still experiencing. They still have not paid off our trade. read more

If you're on the fence about buying a car from Carvana, I can honestly say our experience exceeded our expectations. Shopping for a vehicle on their website was incredibly easy. The filters made it simple to narrow down exactly what we were looking for, so we weren't wasting time scrolling through vehicles that didn't fit our needs. One of the biggest surprises was that the vehicle we wanted qualified for free delivery because it was already in our area. That was a huge bonus and made the entire process even more convenient. Once we decided on our vehicle, we never felt rushed. Carvana gives you plenty of time to carefully review everything, read through the paperwork, and make sure you're comfortable with your decision before moving forward. I really appreciated that there wasn't any pressure. Communication throughout the process was excellent. We received emails and text messages leading up to delivery that kept us informed every step of the way. They reminded us about documents to review, explained what to expect, and made sure there weren't any surprises on delivery day. I also have to give them credit for accurately describing the vehicle. The condition report on their website was spot-on. Every imperfection they listed was exactly as described, so there were no disappointments when the car arrived. We also traded in our previous vehicle, and Carvana offered us significantly more than anyone else I checked with--including CarMax and even the dealership where we originally purchased the vehicle. The trade-in process itself was just as easy. After answering a few questions online, we received an offer quickly, and on delivery day they picked up our trade-in at no additional cost. Finally, I want to recognize our delivery advocate, Tevin. He was friendly, professional, and never made us feel rushed. He didn't load up our trade-in until we had thoroughly looked over our new vehicle and confirmed that we were completely happy with it. That extra level of customer service really stood out. Overall, this was one of the easiest and most transparent car-buying experiences we've ever had. I wouldn't hesitate to use Carvana again and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a hassle-free way to buy and sell a vehicle. read more

++++ Read before moving forward with buying a Tesla (Model 3) from Carvana ++++ To start I have purchased two other cars from them and was very happy with their service and concept. After buy a 3rd car, a Tesla Model 3, it has come to my attention that they are scamming these customers. This is the very reason why Elon does not want his beautiful cars being misrepresented by 3rd party dealers like Carvana who intentionally defraud their clients and rip people off. If you purchased a Model 3 from them you should double check what they sold you and the specifications of the car. Which you can easily do with the help of cross checking the VIN number with Tesla. +++ Model 3 cars that are standard range are advertised and being sold as long range cars+++ -- This is False Advertising -- DO NOT blindly trust their sales team, they are intentionally defrauding customers. Look closely The company claims that mine was a clerical error and tried to offer me $500.00 after damaging my credit and wasting hours of my time dealing with their scam. I proceeded to review their site, and quickly found 3 other cars that they were also falsely advertising as long range when they are in fact standard range. Sadly people have already purchased Model 3 cars thinking they have the long range battery and they do not. If my mom would have purchased a car from them, she would have never known how to check something like on her own, it would have been just another person they scammed and got away with it. Please remember when buying a EV that the battery does degrade over time. If you start with a car that is suppose to have over 320 miles.. in 5 years and a lot of miles.. that battery usually degrades about 10 percent from its max range.. so starting off around 70 miles less is a HUGE difference even if you don't plan on traveling with the car on long trips. read more

Took delivery of a Ford F-150 on May 2 Tires were bald and I found screws in two of them when I got home. Determined to be a safety issue and all four tires were replaced by SilverRock Took to shop for inspection on May 4. Shope found the following issues: Bad cam phasers in the engine Oil leaking from timing chain cover Bad struts Bad transmission It's clear this vehicle was never inspected by Carvana prior to selling. May 11 - Shop went back and forth with SilverRock for a few days to get repairs approved. Shop recommended a Ford remanufactured transmission, but SilverRock didn't approve and sent a cheap remanufactured unit. My out of pocket to get a quality one would have been $6000. After some back-and-forth, SilverRock sent a cheap transmission. Transmission arrived at the end of day Friday, May 15 and was installed May 20 and 21st and finished May 22th. The transmission was an immediate failure on test drive. SilverRock said they would send another cheap unit. I requested Carvana work with SilverRock to get a Ford reman. Denied. Worst buying experience of my life. Carvana makes it so difficult to have your car delivered. Had to wait over a month before the car I selected was ready. Then they rescheduled delivery of my car 4 times. Left hand did not know what the right hand was doing within their company. I have a 780 credit score and my Lender financed 100% of a 2020 Tesla. But Carvana treated me like I was broke and had horrible credit. Then when I needed to use my warranty that was through Carvana, their warranty company would not let me start a claim for replacement of windshield. Said the service company has to start the claim which is Tesla but Tesla does not work with third party Vendors. So I had to pay almost $1,000 out of pocket because Carvana and their warranty is designed not to pay. Carvana does not drive you happy, they drive you crazy. Please never buy from Carvana read more

I've always gone to a dealership to buy a used car. That ends today. We were looking for a specific vehicle and thought we'd look at what Carvana had in stock. We found exactly what we wanted. The process seemed too easy. The price we paid was what I was expecting. They gave me slightly more than what I was expecting for my trade in. Two days later they delivered my new vehicle, took away my trade in and I was amazed how easy the whole process was. I was especially happy about the warranty that comes with the purchase and the fact I had a week to decide to keep the car. I bought a car from Carvana and it has been a nightmare. They are a rip off. They sold me a Nissan Rogue which has a history of transmission problems, recalls, and multi hundred million dollar class action law suits. They told me to take my car with a bad transmission to an authorized repair shop in Austin which did not fix it. When I moved to Colorado, they told me to take it to another shop where it sat for a week and then they told me to take it to a Nissan dealership. They told me to take it to any dealer and then after this was done, they told me to tow it to another dealership. Do not do business with Carvana or their warranty company Silver Rock. Just a gimmick. Showed up for our car appointment - to pick up the car we purchased. The two ladies couldn't figure out how to use the vending machine. Kept on pulling down the wrong cars. Then when they finally did figure it out, turns out they had assigned us the wrong car. The one we purchased was there but not ready for pick up yet. We would have to return the next day to pick it up. We are pretty pissed. We drove over an hour to get to the place and struggled with Austin rush hour traffic both directions and are returning home without the car. Pretty disappointing. Update: called Carvana in the way home and cancelled the sale. We found a better car right next door on the way home. read more

Far exceed my expectations!!! I sold my 2015 civic. The dealership offered $2,500 for a trade in. Carvana offered $5,000. This seemed too good to be true but I tried anyway. I scheduled a pickup date ($290 fee) so I didn't have to drive from Austin to San Antonio to drop it off myself. The carvana guy showed up on time, was super chill and nice, looked at the car for 5 minutes, then handed me a check for $5,000. The check cleared just fine with my bank. It was one of those rare cases where something that seems too good to be true is actually true. Spectacular selling experience. Would recommend to literally everyone. read more

So I contacted Austin Carvana, this was my first time using them, they made the process SO easy. Online, I gave them the information about the car, took a few pics to upload into system. The selling process was extremely easy to use just like the TV advertisement. The offer was great even for me that I had a negative equity. this is the 3rd car I've bought from Carvana. the only problem I've had has been waiting for license plates for the first two cars. The latest, a Toyota 4Runner was absolutely a seamless transaction. I just received the plates today, about 40 days before the temporary plates expired. The definitely improved on the time to get registration completed. All three cars have been excellent, just fantastic cars in awesome shape. I recommend buying the lowest mileage car you can find and you won't go wrong with Carvana. read more
