    Carvana has the best business model in the car buying and selling industry! There website is very easy to use. The price they quote you is very close to or exactly the actual price the will pay for your used car. At least, that was my experience. Once I arrived at their Austin, Texas facility, the whole process took less than 45 minutes. The staff is very friendly and knows how to quickly complete the title change process. They also informed me of other important steps in the selling process like notifying the Texas DMV for release of liability and to cancel insurance. Their online communication system keeps you updated and in touch throughout the entire process. Kudos to Carvana!

    Very easy process-I car shopped all week while I was sick in bed and found exactly what I wanted. No negotiating, but you have pretty great say over your terms, as long as you're approved, and the pricing was within KBB value, from I saw. All paperwork was done online, title, registration, insurance, etc. Everyone at the location even I went to pick my car up was welcoming and helpful. I think I was skeptical of Carvana to begin with because the "vending machine" feels tacky/like they aren't as serious of a company (which is importantly when buying a vehicle), but it really is just silly marketing to get people's attention, and my experience was great overall.

    I purchased a car from CarMax that is a complete mess and was terribly misrepresented in the listing. The car is a 2023 (previous owner purchased in Aug 2023 per carfax, so 18 months old). I ordered it online after reviewing their photos and the clean carfax, and picked it up on 2April2025. I noticed what looked like a lot of dirt on the taillights and waterspots all over the car, but decided to take it home bc of the seven day return policy. Once I got it in my garage under good lighting, I found that the car has been completely repainted, and there are signs of there having been a wreck. The rear bumper, the doors, front fenders and front bumper have all been repainted. I even found a BONDO SPREADER (plastic spatula) in the trunk that is used by body shops to put bondo on a car... near the charge door, I found that there are deep scratches visible under the paint, likely from cheap body work.. there is also paint on a lot of the trim and overspray on the taillights and other body panels, and overspray on the frunk plastic from the car being repainted. I also found water in the 'frunk' indicating that the hood isn't sealing correctly, meaning that the hood doesn't seat properly or is misalligned, common after a wreck. There were also a lot of scratches on the car that were not documented, perhaps happened by Carvana staff, maybe bc the paint was soft since it was sprayed just a few days before they received it. -------------------------- Update : I initially gave Carvana a 1 star review, but since then I have returned the car and changed it to a 4 star review. Returning the car - This was very easy. The person I worked with was very empathetic and only needed to check the mileage on the car to ensure I did not drive it over the allowed amount. I'm not sure what that is but I had only driven it about 20 miles. Transport fee - A few days later, I called their 800 ph# to ask for my transportation fee to be refunded. It was only $290, but I feel like their inspection staff really 'dropped the ball" on the inspection since none of what I have included in my photos was listed in the review. My call with them was less than 5 minutes bc after I described the condition of the car, he agent agreed that I should receive my fee refunded, which will take 7-10 biz days.     So easy! We got a good price and didn't have to fix the front panel that had been messed up. They came to us and handled everything.

    Honestly couldn't have imagined a better experience! Carvana gave us 50% more than in person dealerships and picked the car up next day!!

What was wrong on day one: Service lights were already illuminated when the car drove off the lot (they keep deleting my photos here). Brake fluid and engine oil both overdue for service. The tailgate was also inoperable. CarMax advertises a rigorous 125-point inspection on every vehicle. Well their service department must be blind. Dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Also, severe water spots on the hood. What was discovered within three weeks (warranty period) -Active coolant leak with pressurized spray visible under the hood -Water intrusion inside the cabin. both front and rear -Rough idle -Leaking washer fluid pump. How CarMax handled it: When the first issues were brought to their attention, they made no effort to acknowledge them or schedule a service appointment. It was brought to their attention 3 times at the time of sale. For the rest of the issues, Saturday was my last opportunity. Turns out service is closed on weekends and I found out the hard way. I was directed to use the app by an employee who answered the phone, but the app has no scheduling feature. Only a phone number that routes back to a closed service department. My warranty expired while I was following CarMax's own instructions. They did not honor my attempt to schedule a service appointment. Warranty expired and I was told to kick rocks. I spoke with another floor manager to wait 2 weeks for some other manager. I refused to wait. I spoke with the general manager who said kick rocks. I spoke with the inventory guy - who said kick rocks. I am completely baffled as to why their warranty is 30 consecutive days vs business days. Why is it possible for a warranty to lapse on a weekend when you can't do shit about it? I was told to "leave a voicemail" next time. I spoke to a human. Why is that not enough?! I have the call logs. Why - did they not schedule an appointment? I don't understand how this is allowed as it is clearly a deceptive practice. CarMax inspects their vehicles like Boeing "inspects" their planes. We all know how that went. These guys make money laundering car dealerships look like saints. They actively and knowingly did not inspect the vehicle and made every attempt to NOT schedule service and took no accountability for it. Look at the other reviews here and complaints with the BBB if you think I'm overreacting. And just to add insult to injury, they sold my data to data brokers for which I am now receiving an onslaught of spam regarding my vehicle's warranty.

Rito was VERY personable and spent a perfect amount of time orienting me to the new car. Other than the long drive getting here, there was very little downside. To the reader saying there must be something. It is through Costco Auto Program. Only two within 400 miles of Houston. One I never contacted in N Texas. The one in Roundrock was an awful experience..., to where even if they matched the price, the people that work there would be either very nice or rude as f. Had one or two employees made me feel like they were in a hostage situation ("get me outta here"). Selling cars does not give a dealership carte' blanche' to be rude. Nobody in Houston came within $5K on price, with many stating over and over again that I'm going to get taken. Nah, lazy people who aren't willing to do their research and drive 6 hours are getting taken. My wife has a RAV4 Hybrid and when we need a new Toyota we'll go see our friend, "Rito" at Autonation South Austin. Thank you!

During the test drive he was very knowledgeable about the car. when it came down to trading in my GR 86 in he explained the entire process to me, as he could definitely see it was very hard for me to sell my baby. As I went into Finance with Ryan he helped in any way he could with getting the car into a payment I was happy with but still making the process quick (not rushed). Telling me serval different options and giving me advice, as I am pretty young to be buying a higher end car. The BMW Genius Lazarus also was very knowledgeable about the car, seeming just as excited as I was. The dealership itself was very peaceful and clean.
