Horrible customer service. Read this first if you're thinking about purchasing from Carvana. First, they made us drive all the way down to San Antonio to sell my car to Carvana so we drove 2 cars there (wouldn't let us sell car and pick up car at the same location for some reason), then had to drive back 2 hours to pick up the car we purchased and had shipped several days ago (and paid over $1600 for shipping) When we went to go pick up my new car, they said there was no appointment for us. I showed them our confirmation email from 7:00 Am this morning saying "Today's the day!" with all the confirmation details for the appointment. There was a lot of waiting and back and forth then they were like "oh you need to check your email" keep in mind we have been driving for 4+ hours so checking email wasn't really an option. AN HOUR before our appointment they sent us and email (no other communication) saying it was rescheduled. After much probing, we finally found out that the car we paid to ship got damaged in transit and they needed to fix it and there was body and battery damage (on an EV). The new pick up date we wouldn't be able to make because we'd be out of the country (and we didn't want to pay the same price for a car that was in a wreck.) so we cancelled the order and figured we'd order another car from them. Well that shipping date got moved too, so we also cancelled that order. Same reason. We paid over $2k in shipping fees at this point, they've only refunded $1000 of them, customer service has offered NOTHING. No discount/ price matching on the second very similar car, no offer to help since now I'm car-less since they purchased my other car. NOTHING. They've left us $1000 poorer, with one less car, and very little options. Everyone at this company is acting like this is somehow our fault and there has been absolutely no attempt to make anything right for us. I would NEVER recommend ever purchasing a car from this horrendous company. read more

Very easy process: I received an estimate online, signed the power of attorney forms before coming in. When we came to the location we were met with a representative who took a 5 minute look at the car and received a payment for the full amount of the estimate in ACH. From start to finish I found the experience with Carvana to be easy, polite and professional. We sold our vehicle to them using their website. Just a bit of typing and a few pics then we had an offer. Their offer was better than the 3 we received through KBB and the 2 quotes I got from local dealers. I just followed their step by step process, picked a day and time for them to verify the car. Their communication was very prompt and concise throughout the process as well. On the day of pickup, Data (sales rep) showed up and verified all the details of the car. I handed him the keys and title and he handed me a check in the agreed upon price. Extremely Disappointed - Major Issues Within 3 Months I purchased my car in March, and it's been nothing but problems ever since. Right after buying it, I found bugs in the car. The dealership gave me a credit for that the following month, but that was just the beginning. In month two, a part of the computer system went out. Thankfully, I was barely still under the mileage warranty and got it fixed. However, just two weeks later, another part of the car's computer system failed. This time I was 2,000 miles over the warranty and was told it would cost nearly $900 to fix. In less than three months, the car has had major electrical/computer issues. I've had to pay for Ubers and rentals just to get to work while the car was in the shop. To make matters worse, because I'm slightly over the warranty, I'm no longer covered -- even though I've only had the car for under 90 days. I can't even trade it in without paying over $8,000 because the check engine light is now on. I'm being told it's cheaper to repair than trade, but if this many issues have already happened so quickly, I have no confidence that more problems won't follow. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I expected reliability -- not a financial headache. UPDATE: 8/23/24 Exactly 3 days after my 7 day option period ended, I woke up to my rear tire being low in PSI, filled it up and it was fine for the day. Next day (today) same thing happened. Took it to Firestone (a shop in their network) so that I can file a claim. There was a nail in the tire and it was not repairable so Firestone attempted to claim it through silver rock. Unfortunately for me because I didn't pay for their over priced roadside insurance, it is not covered and I now need to replace the tire out of pocket. Ok, buckle in for an immersive review on my experience here. The good, the bad, the ugly. I'll start with the good. I've purchased quite a few vehicles over the years and the one thing I quite enjoyed about Carvana's buying process is not having to deal with pushy salesmen, having clear and transparent pricing without all the added fees and packages from traditional dealerships, and how effortless it was to begin the process once we found the vehicle we liked, a 2023 dodge Durango R/T with less than 30k miles. Now comes the ugly... you don't get to even see the vehicle until AFTER you've already signed for it and let me tell you what a catfish experience this was. When I chose the vehicle it only had 1 imperfection listed/shown and it was a piece of carpet that came out from the floorboard. No big deal right? Come to find out there's all kinds of dents, dings, scratches, and cosmetic damages that were not disclosed! I picked my vehicle up from Carvana so I called the rep that was helping me and told him about the damages. He stated if you can stand 6 feet away and not see anything they usually don't disclose it. I replied "I can stand 15 feet away and see the damages what are you talking about?!" He agreed with me about the damages but chalked it up to being a used car and "normal wear and tear". I then noticed the front tires were extremely worn with cracks and some balding, Not a whole lot of tread. The attendant replied "If it passes inspection it's good enough to drive" and then basically said "it's a used car, you either want it or you don't" and walked away. So you're left there having to decide whether to start this entire process over and reject the car, or take the car as is. Not to mention I got the vehicle with less than half a tank of gas and was told they only have to fill it 1/2 - 3/4 of the way. The rep did give us the number to their warranty department "Silver rock" where I was able to "file a claim" but was limited to 3 cosmetic claims and wasn't able to report all of the damages. They denied 2/3 claims and I was unable to claim anything more that was cosmetic related because..... you guessed it! "ITS A USED CAR". The bad.... I went and got the vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic ($75) because the vehicle would shake anytime I used the brakes over 40 MPH, and come to find out the brake rotors and brake pads were bad & needed replacing! I then called silver rock and they stated they would cover it since I was still in my 7 day window however, I needed to use one of their shops in network for it to be free of charge, which meant I had to travel 45 minutes away to a Firestone. Silver rock approved the front and back rotors to be replaced however, they did not cover the brake pads because they were "newer than they were used" and "it's a used car" so I had to come out of pocket another $200. All in all, we love the vehicle we got and what we paid for it.... We just wish they would have been more transparent about what was actually wrong with it. It does seem that they are rather deceptive behind closed doors when it comes to the quality and condition of the vehicle. The employees really couldn't care less, there's nothing they can do for you and even if there was it doesn't seem they would be willing to. The claims process wasn't as much of a hassle as I had anticipated and they covered most of what was wrong with the vehicle but you do have to jump through some hoops to get it. Over all my experience wasn't great but it definitely could've been worse! Do your due diligence and make informed decisions. Remember they are not your friends and aren't doing you any favors! I have traded in cars twice with Carvana and both times it was a smooth experience and I got exactly what I expected. the delivery was a little late this second time but that wasn't a big deal. The car is in mint condition and runs great. One thing I think Carvana should do differently is to show an average sized person sitting in the driver seat. it's hard to really gauge the size of the driver area by reading measurements. I'm a bigger person and the new car I got is a bit of a tight squeeze despite having larger dimensions than my old car. Could this be solved by going traditional car shopping? sure! but I'm not doing that in the Texas summer. read more

if If I wasn't mechanically inclined , I would've probably been stuck with some big bills for car repairs. Bought a 2018 Lincoln Navigator Reserve L, and it had some paint issues that weren't on the original pictures, bad front wheel bearing, and a leaking coolant hose. Carvana did pay for these with no cost to me, but, this should've been fixed prior to selling the car. The air filter and cabin air filter were NEVER changed, and it definitely needs a tune-up. It has 82,000 miles, so these things should've been addressed. Other than that, the car buying process was pretty smooth and fast. Good customer service at the local office, but the customer service call center needs some help. Seems like they source out the process to a different country. I would recommend that it be changed. I love my "new to me" SUV. Overall, pay attention to everything and know that the shipping to your location it considered like a down payment and must be paid before processing for financing. I do love the Alpha Romero Stelvio I purchased and wish I could give 5 + stars .However, being told during my 7 day trial period when I found a very small rock chip in lower passengers side corner of the windshield would not be fixed I almost sent the car back. The driver was at my home a very short mount of time, it was very bright outside and over 100 degrease. I could not see it from the drivers side and my wife pointed it out to me later. It would have taken so little to fix the rock chip and would have made a huge difference. There werea few other minor things with the process but I do love the car. read more

after purchasing a vehicle, delivery delayed a week , arrives with ABS light on. they let it sit another week before taking it to shop . part delayed.in the meantime we get another jeep from them while waiting on repair of original vehicle. check engine light comes on 60mi after picking it up , not to mention three different tires , outlets not working and it being filthy .. we check in a week later they can't find our car and have no update . I literally drive around to 6 different repair shops to locate it talk to service manager about back order time for part . Set up having it taken to my Jeep mechanic to have the repair done. they cancel sale of vehicle , lie about it not passing inspection . Mind you we have them $26k in cash .. the "executive" account manager said we couldn't have it due to the ABS light and there was nothing to be done about it. even though I'd already set it up with an alternate mechanic . He said they would be selling it to a whole seller and if I can find out who that is to buy it from them .. that was ridiculous.. had this not been a unicorn I'd have walked away won't hesitation . not Having knowledgeable staff or a service sept on site is a horrible buisness mode for selling used vehicles . Read the fine prints and take your car to have it scanned as soon as you pick it up . Overall I feel like I would buy a car this way again. I love the car. Picked it myself, happy with the miles and the price. Pluses: pick the car online, no haggling over prices. It is what it is. All the details are there including carfax, any scratches, blemishes etc. No fees or add ins etc. 7 days to decide if you are sure you like it or not. They offer warranty (so did my bank for a better price) Things to consider: pay cash or go get your own financing and if they don't ACH directly, just go to the bank to get the check in hand or be sure to have it sent overnight. I was delayed picking it up because, while I got my own financing, the bank mailed the check (they should have let me go in to have the check printed, on them not Carvana) so it took 4 extra days, but NBD. Drawbacks: not all of the people you talk to speak good English and are working off script and don't have answers for complicated questions. Part of their phone team for initial calls are not US based. Later calls for finalizing are though. Chats can have long delay times for answers so be prepared to wait if you happen to have a more complicated case (delayed check to pay in my case since I had a better interest rate with my credit union). very easy and way better than sitting in a dealership and dealing with that BS for a day or more. I was bummed the conveyer belt is broken at this location so dispensing my car could only go so far . read more

I purchased an SUV online. Simply it came in on Saturday and was a present for my wife who was coming home Sunday. First thing I noticed is the front tires were bald. Sunday when she got home I figured we would take a drive and have tires out on it. The car vibrated so bad on acceleration you could barely drive it. I took it to a trusted shop (not one of theirs) and had 4 new michelins put on and found at that point the passenger front drive axle was bad causing the vibration. After waiting three days for an axle we ended up with two that were both wrong. Ended up getting one from Lexus. In a nutshell I spent over 2k on this car before we ever got to drive it. If this is the "new way" of buying a car... I'm done. And no one has reached out to me. I have purchased many cars over the years. A lot of them online in the last 5 years. Easy process to buy the car online but the pickup was more stressful than expected. I got multiple calls, emails, and texts reminding me about the appointment time. I got there early, but the car wasn't ready. After all the nagging, it would have been nice if Carvana staff would have just told me that they were running late rather than ignoring me for an hour. I didn't recognize the car when they finally had it brought out. It was quite a different shade of blue than I expected and had a lot more wear and tear - scratches, paint chips, and dents - than shown in the online photos. The price was ok and my mechanic gave it a thumbs up, so will probably keep it. But I'll think twice about using Carvana again in the future. read more

I just purchased a Tiguan from you last Tuesday. I drive it this weekend and see that the front is shaking quite a bit. So I go in to discount tire today and I find out you sold me a vehicle with two front defective tires. I could have had a terrible wreck or died this weekend driving on those tires. This is day 7 of having the car and it's under your warranty. So I call your customer care and you tell me the warranty doesn't cover the $339.41 I paid to replace 2 defective tires and you're telling me you're not going to reimburse me for that. Carvana's process is very cut and dry. It's so much to a fault. The main problem being they overprice cars above most bank's loan-to-value. They are unwilling to negotiate that due to "'no haggle", even though they have the value set at haggling price. Now for the good. The staff at this Carvana is amazing. The car buying process is very simple here. I did it all online. I got here and test drove after Gilbert took copies of my ID and verified insurance. The test drive went smoothly and then I came in and finished 2-3 mins of paperwork. Then done! McKayla (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) and Gilbert were so kind and knowledgeable to the process. They even went above and beyond and assisted me by lending me a tool to swap out my motorcycle battery as it died when I had gotten there (was my ride to check out my new ride haha). They were both exceptional people and answered all of my Carvana questions and even hypotheticals. (Very wonderful people.) 4 out of 5 because of Carvana's process losing a star. Otherwise 5 because these employees made an excellent experience for me. read more

We purchased our suv a few months ago. I will never purchase a vehicle online again. They brought it to our house, which was great. I took it for a test drive and the dash said "service required". The said it wouldn't be a big deal just call SilverRock. SliverRock is a 3rd party who handles repairs for Carvana. A couple days later our sunroof stops opening. So we call SiverRock and make a claim. They send us to two different mechanics of their chosing. The first one kept it for a week. They decided to go with the second mechanic. They kept our car for 2 weeks. Finally they we able to coordinate with a SilverRock rep to go out and approve the repairs. They gave us back the car until the parts arrived. Once the part arrived they kept the car for another week and fixed it. During all this two more lights came on. The auxiliary battery light and a seat belt light. We didn't want to go through all the hassle of going though SilverRock so my husband just changed out the auxiliary battery. Now we have to deal with the seat belt malfunction. I'm sure if we will go though the hassel of dealing with SilverRock. It been an absolute pain. If you want to purchase a car online go to Carmax. They at least have mechanics on-site and you don't have to go through a 3rd party. read more
