We were in the mood for something sweet after dinner so we stopped in for dessert. This store has obviously been here awhile, and nothing still carried the appeal of a shiny, clean, ice cream shoppe... Not gross, but definitely in need of a once-over. The older man standing under the "order here" sign behind the counter (owner? manager?) completely ignored us but one of the girls came over to help. One look at the toppings area, still dirty from the last customers, and full of things falling into other things, and we decided on a shake! We ordered chocolate malts, which were tasty but the malt wasn't mixed in well, so it clumped into the bottom and we got several big chunks in our straws. It's nice having a local ice cream shop, but maybe seems like instead of trying to rush through serving people, they could take a little more time to care about things. read more

This carvel lacks a lot. Idk what is going on here. Maybe the machines couldn't keep up but I got a swirl cone dipped in chocolate and it was mushy. So it was kinda hard for the chocolate to stay on and it fell right off. The tables were dirty and there was a weird smell inside. It needed attention. I'd say it would be worth the extra 10min drive to Dairy Queen. read more

This is the store I normally go to bc it's close to my house. The customer service is never that spectacular but it's close and consistent enough. I have to leave a bad review this time bc the customer service or lack thereof that I experienced. After purchasing my ice cream, I was hit on the arm by the door of the business upon exiting resulting in my ice cream falling from my hand landing on the ground directly in front of the door. Multiple ppl witnessed it. When I went back inside, the manager told me he would only replace it if I purchased another one. He wasn't very friendly when he said it. A customer inside even tried to vouch for me. His effort was futile. I just don't feel that's how you treat customers. I'll go back bc once again this is the closest one to me. I love carvel they have great soft serve and this location has super nice staff and is very clean. I love the cone selection. I got a dipped cone with sprinkles. It was such a huge portion of ice cream. The chocolate is so rich and creamy and delicious. I tried toasted marshmallow and it was a little too strong but I got it anyway. I came here with my grandma and we had a good time eating ice cream together. read more

Their brownie bits tasted absolutely disgusting, dry, and stale. I made it kindly known to the manager that I would like to have a new ice cream sundae. I'm not sure if he found it funny or pleasing to make a joke of it by going to taste the brownie bits himself, and say that nothing was wrong with it, and proceeded to make a scene as if I was the problem. Safe to say, I would never in my life step foot at this location, or possibly another Carvel ever. It's 2024. It's sad that racism still exist so heavily. Good ice cream and didn't have any of the issues listed on here from 2 years ago. This location has specials, one for each day of the week. We ended up doing the Monday dasher deal as we have never had their dashers before. The young lady was nice and the dashers were great. One flaw on the dashers - I think they went a little overboard on the brownie toppings and could have given some more ice cream instead. Also looks like another place that only does cash tip. Hard to do in the covid era. This location surprised me. They also have cakes galore including the famous fudgie the whale. Will be back to get my usual twist with rainbow sprinkles. read more

The ice cream is fine, the store is okay but the seating area outdoors is filthy. Shouldn't the owner take some time to wipe down the tables and chairs? Why expect your patron to sit in a chair covered with bird poop. The young employees are fine, but when the owner serves you, he never has a smile and gives you half a portion. Brrr! It was chilly outside and the first thing my husband and I thought about getting was ice cream. I went to the nearest one and ordered two classic sundaes to go. While I was waiting, I looked around and saw that the shop was spotless. There was about 10 people in there at the time and they were sitting down enjoying their sweetness creation. They have soft serve and regular ice cream with a handful of toppings. I've always been a fan of Carvel since I was a little girl and it hasn't changed much since then. Maybe an improvement on their logo and advertising, but not in their ice cream. The service was friendly and quick. I got back home and we enjoyed our sundaes very much. Both were soft serve vanilla ice cream, which one had strawberry topping and the other had melted peanut butter. The strawberries were very juicy and not overly sweet. I did not have a bite of the melted peanut butter because I would have ended up eating the other sundae as well. It's on next time! read more

Went with my family against our better judgement because last time we went my grandson was served ice cream with hair in it and when showed the owner he said no hair in it. So we gave the store another chance today. The owner was there and I ordered a kids cone with vanilla soft serve with chocolate sprinkles. He gave me a kids cup with maybe a teaspoon of chocolate sprinkles. I told him I wanted it in a cone he basically threw the cone at me no gloves on no hat or hair net. He proceeded to say I said cup. Then my friend ordered a cup with chocolate sprinkles and he gave her rainbow sprinkles and when she said she said chocolate he said no she said colored! Maybe he should repeat the order. My other friend orders a thick shake and was handed the cup with ice cream pouring down the side of the cup. No offer to remake any order or apology saying he got the orders wrong. My daughter who is the one who wanted the ice cream didn't even order since he messed up 3 orders. Won't be returning and letting our friends know. While visiting the Metro store, (which is great btw), we decided to pick up some ice cream to soothe our soul. Picked up 2 cones, lemon 'ice' and a flying saucer package. So, I take out a $20 bill thinking that should cover it. Nope. Dug into my wallet for some more cash. $26?!?! What? Trust me, I ain't cheap, but this was just way out there over priced. We don't usually have ice cream in the house since too much dairy will just melt down our digestive system. This was a treat but never thought it would be lunch money for the week. Next time we want ice cream, which will not happen for some time, I am going to Publix and pick up a container of something. I love carvel one of my favorite ice cream places. I usually go to the carvel our in Royal Palm but was down in the lake worth area so thought I'd stop in and pick up a dasher and some flying saucers. Well the flying sauceres were $10 and my dasher was 9$ because the dashers only come with two toppings... and I got an extra topping. Toppings are $.75 she charged me for two extra topping which was 1.50 because she had to add the gummy bears to both layers of the dasher... when I asked her why she was charging me for two extra toppings she laughed and said "I had to add the topping to both layers". Well wow! thanks for charging me 1.50 for the 13 gummy bears I had in my dasher. Next time I'll just buy a bag of y bears for 1$ from the winndixie next door. Won't be going back to this carvel. Not when I can go to my normal one and get two of the same dashers for $12. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. Yesterday my daughter and I went in for some treats. She wanted a milkshake and I wanted a Brown Bonnet. (A Brown Bonnet is soft serve dipped in that hard chocolate shell.) The girl that served us looked less than thrilled to be there. When I told her what I wanted, she told me I could only buy it pre-made. So, figuring that the store does it this way for high volume, I was handed what I ordered. Or what I thought I ordered. I got home only to realize I was given a chocolate soft serve dipped in the hard chocolate shell. I had ordered vanilla. The consistency of the ice cream was off and terribly icy. You cannot freeze soft serve as it just doesn't taste right. My daughter's milkshake was also just "meh". The moral of the story is to just go somewhere else. read more

Up until this experience my family would pass Cold Stone to come to Carvel....NEVER AGAIN. Management is extremely rude & unprofessional. My daughter ordered an Oreo Dasher. Which looked NOTHING like the picture. There were no layers. It was a cup of ice cream with a glob of chocolate sauce...10 times more chocolate than ice cream. My daughter tried to eat it (one spoonful) and it was too much. So I sent her back in to ask for another with less chocolate. She was told no. So I go back in and ask what else can you make that isn't a cup of chocolate? I asked for a regular cup of ice cream with a drizzle of chocolate & Oreo topping. I go to leave and cashier wants to charge me for the replacement ice cream...SERIOUSLY?! She goes to get the manager who came up with attitude. She would barely let me speak. She was yelling. Extremely unprofessional. She was acting as if I wanted something for free. Customer service was horrible and I recommend said manager to attend the soonest customer service training class she can get to. There is no way she should be in charge of anything. After I wouldn't back down she told me to just take the ice cream. I left but called back for the corporate number and the manager says 'I don't have it...google it'. Trash management. I usually order the SAME thing every time I go to carvel stores, but this one clearly couldn't handle a simple request. I like my bonnet in a cup not a cone, and they barely drizzled it, it was so messy, and sloppy. Their solution was to put it in a bigger cup. The owner said "well this is what you ordered". I said ok well that's not how it usually looks. He shrugged his shoulders and replied with the total, ignored me, and walked away. He didn't offer to make another one and was so extremely rude, and didn't even offer to fix or change it. Won't be returning to this location! read more

Your toppings are too close to each other and resulted in me having a nearly life threatening allergic reaction. Your peanut butter cups got into my cookie dough, I'm assuming. I have had carvel at 2 other locations, one being in east Boca Raton and west Boca Raton off Glades, near Boca rio and I am very disappointed with the ice cream consistency served at the lake worth store. The ice cream melts almost immediately and is not as thick and creamy as those other locations. I get the feeling they purposely do that to extend the life of the ice cream. The young people in the store are bratty and give people attitude. The older man I assume the manager didn't seem to care one bit. Very disappointed. read more

One thing that my husband and I love about chain/franchise stores is the consistency of the product. We find this with Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, and typically Carvel. I watch my weight and have been quite successful, but it was both Mother's Day and "cheat day", so I decided to have a vanilla ice cream with strawberry topping.. The topping was unusually tart, despite being in a sauce which I presume had to be made with sugar. I did not find it to be consistent as I know that there have been times when I have "cheated" with this same order and it has been worth every calorie. The topping did not taste as sweet as usual, so I figured that I would go in and exchange it for a vanilla with crunchies instead, feeling fairly confident that the new order would be consistent and satisfying. I was SHOCKED when the teen at the counter wanted to charge me for a new order. She said that I tasted the ice cream with the berries and that I could not simply exchange what had been tasted. I asked to speak with a manager twice and was told that she would not contact him as he is with his family. I even said that I was going to write Carvel up and give this location a terrible review. She didn't care. The good news is that I saved a bunch of calories as I refuse to eat something that isn't satisfying (at age 41, I weigh less than I did in my teen and tweties and want to keep it that way:)). The other good news is that my dog got an unexpected treat. I will give it 1 star because the taste of Carvel ice cream is unique and yummy, on it's own. Have gone to this location many times and have never been disappointed. The cakes are great! I've recently gone gluten free and ordered a gf ice cream cake for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved it! (same ice cream, just fudge in center instead of crunchies) I'm ordering one for Christmas as well! It's a little expensive, but definitely worth it. Very clean and very nice staff. Cones and sundaes are delish also--even have enjoyed their Carvelite in the past. The flying saucers here are soooo much better than what they have I the grocery store! This is a very large and different Carvel than I'm used to nice design and the staff was extremely efficient but I have to say I kind of miss the old design I'm used to the free standing old ice cream parlor looking buildings :( but I guess everything has to change with the times. read more

New owners and everything seemed so much better, but then I was in the store today and the new owner was preparing frozen treats.
