We were referred to Casa Appliance Repair by the manufacturer of our oven; they said Casa is their preferred service in the San Fernando Valley. Michael was friendly, arrived exactly on time, and assessed the problem in a matter of seconds -- because it was operator error (it's a European model that works differently than American models, and no one explained a number of things to us about operation). He could have left, but he took 15 minutes to demonstrate everything, and explain why we needed to do the things he was showing us. In the end, he didn't need to repair anything but US, but Michael is a good guy with a great attitude, and I have no doubt that a genuine mechanical problem would be met with skill and more of the same genuine concern for his clients. read more

Combined with great service, an openness to share knowledge and a really friendly guy, we made the right choice with Mike. Strangely, I'm writing a five-star review for work that WASN'T done. After a service visit, Michael strongly advised against me fixing my old dishwasher. Instead he recommended that I purchase a new one and have it installed by the vendor. I felt the advice (with a timely follow up call) that he gave me was honest and sound. I am noticing the other reviews, and there seems to be a pattern here. Mike is intelligent, reasonable, fair, and extremely knowledgeable. He loves what he does, and after installing my dryer for me, could not resist looking at my broken dryer. He managed to get it working even though he knew I would not be using it. His passion for machines took over and he just enjoyed the challenge. He has also fixed my fridge and took a look at my dishwasher and told me to by a new one. First time using Casa / Michael and he did a great job, I'll be calling him in the future for any of my appliance needs. Got a hold of him right away and he coordinated with my tenant, the gas range was on the fritz and wasn't lighting properly, oven door was broken and upon inspection he said that there was a restriction in the gas valves for the burners. He suggested replacing the range since it's about 10-15 years old (Actually 13 years old) and the cost to repair would be more than a new one. He charged me $45, his service call rate. Mike is great; I called him on a busy Monday mid-morning after a debacle with another repair service (I'd called them Saturday, they called back and scheduled me for Monday afternoon then had no record of the appointment when I called Monday morning to make sure they were coming because the problem was getting worse...at that point they told me they didn't have any openings 'til Wednesday! ARG Appliance Repair, by the way) MIKE, with Casa Appliance Repair, on the other hand, answered the phone when I called, obviously on his way from one call to another, and told me he could squeeze me in in about an hour and at least tell me if the problem was serious or easily fixable. My refrigerator was leaking from the back and I'd had a huge puddle on my kitchen floor; Mike told me on the phone that I should turn the water off in the meantime ... and when he arrived he had it diagnosed and fixed in about 20 minutes. He had a replacement water-line valve in his truck for my fridge; an original GE part exactly like the one that failed. Mike also told me that I might want to not pay the $200 or so to fix it since it would likely have another thing go wrong soon, as a 15 year old refrigerator that had already been through a lot. He was very up front on the practicality of the repair and didn't try to up-sell me on other stuff even though the fridge could probably have used a lot of work. I called and left a voice mail the morning of Monday, August 19th regarding a dishwasher repair request. After three days and no reply, I emailed on Thursday, August 22nd, with the same request. This time an entire week goes by with no reply. Yes, people get busy but if you run a business I would think you would at least make an attempt to reach out to potential customers even just to say you are backed up and cannot take on more work. Finally, on August 29th, 10 days after my initial inquiry, I reached out to Sears Home Appliance Repair and scheduled an appointment for the next day (today). Within 45 minutes, an assessment and repair were complete and my leaky dishwasher is now running beautifully. read more

My washing machine stopped spinning so I called and set up a same day appointment. Michael gave me a window of between 5 & 7. He arrived just minutes after 5. He diagnosed the problem quickly and gave me a breakdown of the cost of repair, depending on what he found when he got into it. My machine is a Frigidaire and the crappy design has the access in the back. Since it's a stackable, he wasn't able to open it up. He told me he would need a second person with him to do the job. After discussing the wisdom of fixing it, it seemed like it makes more sense to replace it. A 7 year old washing machine. They truly don't build them like they used to. :( Even though he told me that it would be $65 just to come out and diagnose the problem, he didn't even charge me that! He said he should've asked me more questions on the phone to determine that a second person was needed.
