Tortilla bread was perfectly balanced with the meat, tasting so good you didn't eat any of the toppings. But the toppings turned it into one heck of an adventure of flavor. Yes I know. I'm waxing a little philosophically here, but the food really did impress the hell out of us. Service was great, food was great, presentation was great, environment is great we recommend coming here and we will be back. The beans and rice were perfunctory, but with the addition of salsa and bits of jalapeno they were OK. The burrito itself was large and had plenty of pork, though I didn't care for the marinade. The two salsas were good. All in all, it was just OK. The ambiance is nice and service was fine.

My daughter wanted quesabirria tacos but online I didn't see that they offered them, so I called just to ask, and lo and behold, they actually do offer them, so on our way we went. The restaurant is very cute and I love the table and chair sets. We got seated right away and our server was quick and helpful. They serve a delicious warm bean dip with their chips so it's not just salsa and I loved it! We also started with a michelada that was very well made and flavorful. My cheese enchiladas were so cheesy and the best cheese pull and they were absolutely delicious. My daughter ended up loving her quesabirria tacos and my husband ordered the El Patron mariscos which was massive, fresh, delicious and served with 2 oyster shots that hit the spot! Overall the food is fairly consistent and is comparable to Filiberto's or other taco shop restaurants. The menu is dizzzyingly complex with some stores offering specialty items I don't see elsewhere (tamales, menudo, posole, albondigas), but the service at some is horrific and as a result I won't return to them. Specifically, the Nico's at Continental Ranch, is terrible which given the fact that there are at least two Filiberto's and as many as five or six other Mexican food venues within 3 miles makes it surprising. Regardless, my issues are that they tack on high percentage credit card pricing per item on their already high prices, which is not explained very well other than a small sign at the register. Their service is caustic, snide and insulting. I will not go back to that location, and am not ever going out of my way to have Nicos from any location in the future.
