Early on a Sunday morning after an airport run I was looking for breakfast Heading up Park Avenue into Tucson I saw a line of cars at Cora's Cafe. A rather unassuming place from the outside but once in the door I knew this was going to work. I had machaca, rice, and beans, along with corn tortillas. And it never hurts to have a little side of tornados. The meal was great and the price was right. I recommend you give Cora's a try. read more

My husband went to have lunch and his meal was $17 however, Cora's restaurant decided to charge my husband another transaction for $106 and then another one for $84! I love coming here for lunch or breakfast! Good home like vibes! Traditional space and good location. Food is delish every time I come here! One thing I haven't tried from here but I want is the mini chimis and catering. Very interested in seeing how those taste etc.. I will when an occasion pops up! Different specials everyday! The server Luis has been there for years. He makes your experience there fun. Jokes with everyone! He remembers his regulars and even gives them nicknames. Some of the best chilaquiles I've had besides made at home. They were very flavourful. The coffee is great( i love coffee) lol. The service was great, the guy that helped us makes you feel at home, they're all very nice. CANNED FOOD. I had a good breakfast here couple weeks ago so I brought my wife Saturday for a Mexican lunch. Her 1st visit. Disappointed for sure. Not sure why an "authentic " Mexican restaurant would serve canned sauces but that's what my enchilada style shredded beef chimichanga tasted like. Spongey, not crispy or hot. Both the green and red Chile were mild out of the can sauces. My wife was served a stone cold combo plate. Waitress said it was her fault and returned with a warmed meal but my wife only finished half confiding the tamale and red chili sauce tasted canned. We are both AZ natives and know authentic Mexican food and this wasn't it! Mediocre at best. 2 plates w coffee and tea came to $30.00. Won't return. read more

Good, homemade Mecican food! Their Pancakes are fluffy and light too. "Ala Mexicana" plate/Omlett is outstanding. Red Menudo is very mild and has lots of Hominy w/a good balance of Tripe and you get the fix'ns to spice it up to your liking and add cilantro/onions if you like. Service is good and one of the waiters is a character (he looks like a young Uncle Fester from the old tv show "The Adams Family"), a real character! Just had breakfast at this cafe on the Southside.....and it was excellent! My husband had the cheese enchiladas with beans and 2 eggs. I had the machaca with beans and 2 eggs. I am very picky about my beans, but these were perfect. Not gloopy, but slightly runny. Perfect! The machaca had a great flavor and texture, and the enchilada sauce on my husband's meal tasted excellent (even though he only let me have a small taste). We live on the East side, and thought this might be a bit of a drive, but it only took 15 minutes in heavy traffic. I think a weekend morning would be 10 minutes, tops. I love that they open at 6:30 am, for all us early risers. We will be back for more! read more

I stopped by this morning on my way to work. I was running a little late and didn't have time to make breakfast or lunch before I left the house & Cora's is on my regular route. I went in & ordered a beans, cheese, & rice burrito that was ready moments later. I devoured it after I got to my desk. The ratio of beans to rice to cheese was perfect! Delish! The huevos rancheros was amazing. It does does take a little while to get your food, but good food takes time. As to the overpriced review- where is that person eating? The most expensive thing on the menu is all of 8.50. If you drink water, 2 people can eat breakfast for 20 bucks- and that includes the tip. read more

We stopped by this unassuming building on South Park Ave for a quick bite. Decide is simple and everything looked clean, including the kitchen which is visible through a pass-through. Service was fast and friendly. The red chile beef was excellent (my standard test for Sonoran food ) Enchiladas and beans were also very good. Definitely on the list for return visits. read more

Horrible experience! Lukewarm food, I ordered chicken tacos with rice and beans, the taco shells were premade like taco bell. When the waiter served my plate the taco shells were broken and soggy!!! I couldn't believe they served it thatvway!! When I told the waiter he didn't take it off our bill and I didn't eat it! Watery beans and dry rice. Stale chips with watery salsa and my fiancé ordered red menudo (they offer red or white menudo) and it was not hot and tasted like it was canned not fresh. Went to eat breakfast with a party of 5, we sat in the area that says closed , it was very noisy on this day. The girls that take your drink orders and leave menus came right away, we managed to get 2 refills on our drinks and chips before we got up to go and say "hey no one has taken our order " some new guy finally came after at least 10 mins got our order and left. We noticed people around us who had gotten there after us were getting their food before US! So again, Went and complained and they tried to justify it by sayin it was because of what they ordered , bullshit. Some of our food finally came out and of course pancakes were cold, a order was wrong and one of the orders didnt make it out for at least 5-10 mins after the rest of our party recieved our food ! Afterwards it seemed like the waiter seen the light and started checkin in on us, we told bim we were not happy with our food or service so he said hed take off "all" the drinks off of our bill, well he failed to mention That he meant refills for 3 sodas .. when we only got refills for 2 sodas. Tea and coffee where no charge for refills. He also overcharged us by ten dollars, we added the bill and went to the front and another waitress found the same errors. He also listed on back of our ticket gorditas. We did not order gorditas, was he calling us fat ? He couldnt spell much less speak english . The nerve . Im a latina but come on credit is given where its deserved, lets train our people in customer service and how to wait tables. The food usually is really good never cold , this day was horrible, cold potatos burnt beans cold pancakes 20 refills of chips so that no one wanted their food cus theu took so long..
