It was pretty late at night, and one of those nights where we didn't feel like cooking but wasn't sure what to eat, so I hopped on Yelp and found Delicias which is actually not too far from my house. My daughter wanted quesabirria tacos but online I didn't see that they offered them, so I called just to ask, and lo and behold, they actually do offer them, so on our way we went. The restaurant is very cute and I love the table and chair sets. We got seated right away and our server was quick and helpful. They serve a delicious warm bean dip with their chips so it's not just salsa and I loved it! We also started with a michelada that was very well made and flavorful. My cheese enchiladas were so cheesy and the best cheese pull and they were absolutely delicious. My daughter ended up loving her quesabirria tacos and my husband ordered the El Patron mariscos which was massive, fresh, delicious and served with 2 oyster shots that hit the spot! I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for a great Mexican food breakfast. I think the prices are excellent and the service matches that excellent price. The ambience is very nice and there are at times someone coming around to sing. They turn into a nightclub on weekends, but don't let that frighten you. Their food is really good! Language barrier aside, the service was good and I appreciated the effort. The food was solid, nothing was amazing, but it was just plain ol good. My Margarita was pretty good also, I will return to try something else. The only true knock was my Chile Relleno was average and small, but I can forgive that. Friends ordered the seafood signature dish and I had Wet burrito which was tasty. We devoured the chips, hot salsa and creamy refritos dip that is brought to your table. Drinks are a lil pricey but they are big Margarita glasses and tasty! Random fun item they also sell oyster shooters with choice of tequila or vodka! The vibe and service was friendly and festive. First time here and it was amazing! Our server was very friendly, funny and attentive. As you're seated, you get chips, salsa, and beans! At most places you just get salsa and chips but the beans were a nice surprise and they were very very tasty. To drink I ordered an horchata and it was delicious. For food I got the molcajete mixto for one person and I shared it with someone, it was the perfect amount. We even had left overs it was so big. The chicken and meat were seasoned well and the shrimps were huge and tasty! The sauce at the bottom of the molcajete was super delicious and we liked to dip our meats/shrimp in there. The molcajete came with a side of rice, beans and guacamole. Overall, this place has amazing food and an amazing ambiance! The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the kitchen is very close to where you dine and because of that, it gets very smoky in the whole restaurant. read more

I'm confused as to why this place is packed all the time. This is what made me want to try it. Service is pretty good. We were seated in a booth next to very dirty windows and walls. The food is great, my wife and I have been looking for a good machaca and they have two styles, machaca and machaca seca. We had it for breakfast with scrambled eggs, rice and beens with fresh warm tortillas. The staff was friendly and fast to take our order and prepare it perfectly. The price is excellent since it enough food to take home half for later, which tastes even better the next day. You know what I mean. This is one mine and my boss' go to spot for lunch! Especially since I eat the mariscos and they have carne options for him. We love it for our lunch meetings. The service is usually quick and on point. The food is always delicious. Definitely one of my fave spots to eat on 12th. I like to order the calamari with a side of tortillas and eat them as tacos. One of my faves!! A must they have good drinks. Also live music, I just don't always have cash and feel bad when I don't have any to tip them. We've eaten at Delicia's several times and they have never failed to serve up delicious, fresh food. My husband recently chose Delicia's for his birthday and we were able to get most of our local family together. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was extra fun to have live entertainment and have them sing for my husband. They gave us a fajitas as replacement but forgot sour cream and plates so we couldn't even eat them hot. I don't usually leave reviews, and especially not bad ones, but our experience at Delicias was so disappointing that I feel like I have to. My wife and I are from NH, traveling in an rv. We were excited to try our first Mexican restaurant in Tucson thinking, we're so close to the border this will be authentic, and delicious. I think our expectations set us up for a major let down. Not only was this not the best Mexican food we ever had, it was probably the worst. We started by ordering the house margaritas but opted to pay extra for anejo tequila. The margs were overly sweet and we couldn't taste the tequila. We finished them and also couldn't feel the tequila. For food, we shared the molcajete mixto. The sauce wasn't too spicy hot, but was over spiced. No fresh herbs or juices. It tasted like someone got overzealous with the bottle of cheap dried spices. The chicken was ok, but the steak was so tough and grisly my wife refused to eat it. I choked it down because I didn't want to waste the $45 I spent on the plate. Not to mention the server forgot about is twice, until I got up to find her and remind her about our requests. It wasn't even busy that night. To be fair, the salad was good. We ordered it instead of the refried beans. The salad included cucumbers, several tomatoes, and a generous amount of sliced avocado, much better than a typical Mexican side salad. But overall, I would never return. I'm sure there is much better Mexican food in the area, and Yelp will help is find it. read more

Where do I start... the food was gross! Only good thing was the salsa and drinks. (Kinda) The fajitas had an Asian seasoning. Soy sauce & teriyaki sauce which made them taste Asian lol! That was a first. My husband ordered the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was not deveined! What kind of restaurant doesn't clean their shrimp? I'll take fajitas with a side of shit... said no one ever. Sent them back and they brought the same shrimp back out.. The waiter told us the chef doesn't normally clean the shrimp (butterfly them). Excuse me? You don't have to butterfly shrimp to clean them. That was another first! That's so gross and unsanitary. All in all it was gross! I don't even want to know what the hell else we ate. Hope we don't get sick. My husband and I wanted to try something different . We hardly go to the south part of Tucson but today, we were craving some Mexican food. Based on the reviews, we chose this location! It was pretty crowded but they still had some available seating. The service was great but I believe they are understaffed because it took a bit after they took our order. Of course, we had no problem with that because so many restaurants are having trouble with hiring more staff. We ordered the Camarones a La Diabla & Enchiladas Suiza. We ate at Delicias with Tucson locals on our trip last year. It wasn't really that memorable. We came again this year to give it another try. Disappointed again! The food was mediocre, to be kind. The Carne Asada was burnt. The service was ridiculous. It was lunchtime. We were not acknowledged. One couple got up from a table & we grabbed it for ourselves. We stood next to the table as it needed to be be cleaned. We arrived at 12:15p. We waited. We watched as other tables were being cleaned, but no one came to clean the table we chose. We still were not acknowledged!! We went to one of the cleaned tables. We waited. Yes, it was busy, but we STILL hadn't been acknowledged!! That was infuriating. We finally got water & tea at 12:40p! Chips & salsa came much later... We ordered. We ate at 1:19p. Please note the photos... The bathrooms were a disaster & the floor was so sticky it was like walking on fly paper! The help was so scattered with their tasks, and it wasn't from lack of waitresses! They were all "milling" around doing everything else besides customer service. At 1:48p we gave our credit card. We saw that waitress sorting utensils... she'd forgotten us again. read more
