After having coffee in our room, we strolled in to town, which small and photogenic. Restaurants are walking distance. I love the back yard! It is full of surprises. If you like nature, you should checkout out. The room is on the second floor with a steep stairway which could be difficult for someone in a wheelchair. We are looking forward to our next adventure in Pescadero, and staying in the McMormic House.

Lisa is this most friendly and thoughtful of hostesses and has lovingly put together an upstairs suite (each of 2 rooms sleeps 2 adults, and possibly, one child) full of homey details. It's sort of upscale English/Americana Country Chic with many thoughtful features with the guest in mind. I immediately felt at home: it was quiet, the energy was blissful and we had two great nights. The room was soothing, large, full of awesome reading material and no distractions from outside or the room next door. My man is a vegetarian and we came with a cooler full of eating options. We didn't know, but the room comes well-stocked with Peet's (YES PEET'S!) coffee and Tazo teas. We didn't need our hastily packed paper plates, cups or utensils, because real china, silverware and many other little snacks were provided (free of charge). What a find! For those of your picky Yelpers, there is no "breakfast" at this B&B, but instead they leave you with nice biscuits/scones to accompany your free coffee or tea. You are within one block of the entire downtown Pescadero town, and naturally, you probably want to eat at Duarte's anyway. I can't believe the description was a partial view. It definitely was more than a partial view. We had a soaking tub with whirlpool jets. A king size bed and a fireplace. A miniature refrigerator, and bathrobes to use while we were there. They have a wine and cheese hour from 4:30-5:30 every evening and it also had chocolate chip cookies and veggie tray. The breakfast in the morning was so delicious with an assortment of breads, homemade granola and muesli, fresh fruit, quiche and fresh baked cake (lemon, banana, and blueberry were the flavors the days we stayed). The location is walking distance to the pier, boardwalk, and downtown. Depending on how far you like walking we walked to Natural Bridge State Park and it was 2.7 miles. When I scanned their website I immediately thought I was mistakenly looking at an inn in Mendocino. But nope... right on the edge of West Cliff Drive and just above the boardwalk, this restored Victorian is an oasis of peace, grace, and refined luxury in Lost Boys-land. You can't miss this restored white Italian Revival beauty with a commanding view of the Giant Dipper and the neon glitz of the Beach Boardwalk. Once inside you'll be struck by the high ceilings and windows, clean lines, tasteful color palettes, and spotless housekeeping. We stayed in the ADA room on the ground floor, but I still walked to the top of the stairs just to see the stained glass dome over the ceiling over the stairway. Stunning! The room was not enormous but it was efficient and comfortable and met my mobility needs. Loved the walk in shower with a shower chair. Body wash and shampoo/conditioner are all provided and smelled great. The gas fireplace in the room was welcome as it was still chilly in April. As for hospitality, checking in was quick and friendly. The front desk clerk at check-in was courteous and all smiles. Check-out front desk attendant wasn't the warmest, but nothing that would put me off a return. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese/cracker hour at 430pm and the hot breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and filling. We had it arranged in advance for in room dining and it was great! If I were to drum up a single critique of this visit it would be that the parking area is tight and requires some care to navigate. There are enough spaces for the number of rooms but... we noticed some guests were not very mindful of the parking space lines. Will I be back? Abso-effing-lutely?

The owner, Ann, is very kind and helpful in the checkout process and is flexible for payment. The room was very clean and had all the important amenities. We only stayed an overnight but it more than met our needs! It's very nearby to places nearby such as restaurants and a nice beach, but is a bit further down from the much busier Capitola Beach, which we liked. It's just about right in between Capitola Beach and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The price was fair overall considering it was a Saturday night in Capitola, especially last minute. I would recommend a stay at Pelican Point Inn!

Loved the big bath (whirlpool, if you like). The 'full breakfast' is fantastic. Jen is a wonderful baker (a breakfast bread pudding one day; mini churros another day), and each morning we had a varied and hearty breakfast that was delicious and well-balanced. The house itself is big and inviting with hip old timey jazz pipedor more modern-day chanteuses gently piped in. Enclosed porch for reading or just relaxing. Our room had a private porch, too. So much here. So many ways to really unwind. Walking around the grounds is inspiring. I ran into Derek a time or two who was relaxed but busy on the many projects that keep him focused here. The whole place looks perfect for a wedding, or a family gathering, or even a business get-away. Or, of course, just a simple, lowkey retreat. Lovely hidden (but easy to find) gem. Can't wait to return.

Very disappointing. The front door was locked from the inside. After 4 tries, we rang the…read moreproprietor who fortunately was available. The room was postage stamp small with little space for 2 very small suitcases. The chairs were very uncomfortable and barely fit in the room. The bed table on the left side was set so far back that I had to get on and off the bed to get anything off it or put anything on it. The bed was about 6" higher than normal and required minor gymnastics to get on it. There were 2 regular pillows on the bed and 5 fairly useless gaudy stuffed pillows. 4 normal pillows would have been so much more useful. The wall plugs were so loose that the charging blocks literally fell out of them. I had to prop up the plug with a pillow to charge my phone. The juice was room temperature and very unappetizing. There were crumbs on the table the night before the morning offering. And finally the shower had such low water pressure that for $238.00 I could not even take a shower in the morning. The only redeeming feature was the grounds, which were well maintained and quite nice. I would remove the useless steel ball on the pedestal, as it obscures a lovely view of the woods. It might be better placed where it does not impose itself on the viewer. In short, I am glad to see the place is for sale, as perhaps a new owner might be willing to make his/her guests comfortable.

That's how we ended up at Seaway Inn. Less than a mile walk to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk was a big sell for our family. This hotel was really cute. Easy parking, overflow can park next door in the larger parking lot. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Fair price on the room. Very clean rooms. A lot of up to date renovations. Showers were large. Bathroom had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Pillows soft. We opened up our sliding doors on the second floor to a great view of the boardwalk. Beautiful sight. Microwave and fridge in the room. One knock is the lack of a hot breakfast but for the affordable price (compared to the proximity of the boardwalk) that's kind of expected.

Our king room was in great shape and very comfortable and efficient. We appreciated having an in-room refrigerator given the hotel has no restaurant. They do sell snacks and microwaveable refrigerated foods in the lobby where there is also a microwave available to guests. They also have a very nice coffee machine in the lobby rather than having coffeemakers in rooms. The staff was always friendly when we passed through the lobby or came down for coffee. They provided us with dining and places to see recommendations. Delivering freshly popped popcorn to our room was a nice treat and we enjoyed with wine as we watched the winter olympics at night. The Inn is a great spot to stay when visiting Moss Landing or Monterey, if you don't mind a little drive time to Monterey.

The room itself was very clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable - one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever had in fact! I also felt very safe coming in and out of the property during my two night stay. My only minor complaint was the space under the door let in a lot of light so I did put a towel up against the bottom of the door at night to block that out. I requested a room on the top floor in a quiet area even though I am not noise sensitive and don't have the best hearing. There were a couple of occasions where I heard a door shut loudly or hear a loud truck/motorcycle go down the highway but overall I found it to be quiet and slept well. The mini fridge was a very good size and had a small freezer compartment inside which I really appreciated since I was traveling with a cooler and ice packs - I was able to fit all of my ice packs in the freezer section. The man who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. Although there was no breakfast provided, there was a microwave in the lobby which I used to heat up some things I brought for breakfast. There is also a really nice drink machine that has a variety of hot coffee based drinks and hot chocolate. I had a vanilla latte each morning and while it isn't like a coffee shop quality, it was still tasty and nice to have for free. I booked the hotel as the price was very reasonable given the high ratings and compared to others in Monterey or Carmel, but also because it was very close to the whale watching tour I was doing early in the morning out of Moss Landing. However, it is worth noting that it is a bit in the middle of nowhere so you will have a 20-30minute drive if going into Monterey or Carmel.
