    Jesus selling them Chocolates!

At Elmwood just waking off our dinner and we walked past Case De Chocolates, a nice lady waked out swearing by these chocolates and we had to try. Jesus one of the owner was super nice and stayed open a little longer just for us. Not gonna lie, opened up one of the bars walking to the car. Very unique flavors like Mole, Jamaica, so super Mexican flavors. Must try is your visiting up here in the Bay!

Some chocolate bars they have for sale.

Great Latino owned business to support in Berkeley! I'm so glad I'm walking distance from it so when I need my mid day chocolate kick I can just walk over to get a bar or two. They have hot chocolate and frozen hot chocolate as well. The hot chocolate is vegan but the frozen one isn't. They have some gluten free and dairy free chocolate bars which is cool. They have a small variety of some pastries there too. The service is always fast so if you're in a rush they got you. The store is small and on the corner so it can be hard to see but just know it's the store at the very corner. Give their coffee chocolate bars a try, it really tastes like coffee! My family really likes their frozen hot chocolate and I really like their hot chocolate so you can't go wrong with them. My family and I will just travel to Berkeley for their hot chocolates alone.

Good dark chocolate. Couldn't taste much of the passion fruit but the rose flavor was strong. They are handmade and so pretty. $3.50/piece

C'est Excellente for small pituitary mercado.de chocolate' shoppe. It's REAL . And experience Latin choco as well! Even sipping and 3 kinds of hot chocolate! But go there for the Mission Chocolates but their own is aweso.e! SOany unique flavors to go buy and tastings! Secret right two doors down from fluffy dream donuts. Buy it does open a little later. Worth the wait to 11am.! I had passion and Irish cream a d Kaluhua. But the winner here was the square sugar free bar 90% you could actually TASTE THE COCOA [cow ca kow] pod beans. They actually have flavors for all. Such a great great variety. You're missing out if you eat chocolate, unlike Hannas' and try this another women owned business LOCAL!!!

Finally was able to stop by and try one of their frozen hot chocolate milkshakes! Not too sweet with a hint of Mexican chocolate and homemade whipped cream. They have other little goodies such as chocolate truffles, baked goods and chocolate candies. Great little store with friendly staff.

Casa de chocolates has been a staple in my household for all major events since college. They have the cutest valentines boxes and assortments along with very seasonal fall designs on their bonbons. Nestled off to the side from the quiet and romantic college ave is this authentic Latinx chocolate shop! They have an amazing story rooted in community investment that I read on linkedin! They also have it under their about section online. I come here every chance I can, and try to bring new faces whenever possible, because the magic of this shop cannot be found ANYWHERE else in California. The chocolate and sweets are all rooted so deeply in mesoamerican culture, I love bringing my older family members here to give them a taste of home away from home. From the designs to the flavors, Casa de Chocolates embodies a sense of belonging for me that I can only find when I go back home to Mexico -- so I guess this is my comfort place to a certain extent haha! This is a small but very popular shop that makes everything in house so please be patient with the staff! I promise it's worth the wait. My personal favorites are the 24-pack of chocolate. bonbons and the Frozen Hot Chocolate! The Frozen Hot Chocolate tastes just like abuelita but in the form of a slushee! It is very chocolate-y, not too sweet, and super slushee. They have a massive variety of bonbons to choose from, I like getting the 24-pack to try as many of them as I can but some of my favorites include: Mexican vanilla, chipotle, mole, Tapatio, cajeta, guayana, and Chile naranja.

Highly recommend this place. Definition of a small mom and pop shop. The quality of the ingredients is amazing my favorite cream beer besides the cakes is the frozen hot chocolate. It's not like anything I've ever tried before. Beautiful clean and the employees are very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend and will be coming back multiple times.

While exploring the neighborhood during a recent visit to the Bay, I discovered this wonderful chocolate shop! They have so many different chocolates to choose from! And amazing coffee as well. I picked up macaroons and a huge cupcake for future treats. The staff were friendly and helpful while I was taking my time looking at everything trying to decide which chocolate to enjoy. Although a small space, the layout of Casa De Chocolates is inviting with the main display of chocolates facing the front door and various chocolate products on each side. Def a reasonably priced treat place!

Casa de chocolates is one of the best places I've ever had the chance to visit. It's changed my life. I go every once in a while and each time I am given more reasons to love this business. The food is amazing and let's just say the frozen hot chocolate is addictive. The shop is small but filled with love and amazing vibes! Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area!

Is the Frozen chocolate drink vegan?

Unfortunately No.. but we do have a delicious vegan HOT chocolate

Do you have to pre order assortments during CIVID, or do you have already packed boxes available for purchase if we drop by the store?

For those who don't know what the Dubai chocolates are, they are milk chocolates filled with shredded phyllo dough and pistachio cream. My first impression was whether or not I had walked into an art gallery or a confectionary shop. Uh...turns out both! According to their website, the owner and her partner were originally artists prior to becoming chocolatiers. This place just screams creativity and their chocolates are ethically-sourced and almost too pretty to eat. They even have a backroom gallery to showcase local artists' confectionary-inspired works. We couldn't find the Dubai chocolates, but one of the employees approached us and asked if we needed any assistance. Turns out they were in the back and they had just received a shipment! The Dubai chocolates were nutty, crunchy, flaky, and velvety all in one! Pricey, but worth trying. Also, might I just take a moment to say I absolutely adore the shop's name! It almost looks like "XO Chocolate" as in kisses and hugs, bu also reminded me of the language of the ancient Latin American civilizations and - fun fact - Xocolatl (you see the play on words?) means chocolate (literally means "bitter water") back when they would mix purely cocoa and water as a drink. If I'm not mistaken, this business is Latina-owned, so perhaps that was intention? So clever and, either way, kudos to them!

Packed inside this small space was an amazing array of candies. Felt like museum; candy store and art gallery mixed into one. Amazing displays. Great local sweets. Friendly staff. We came for a factory tour, about an hour long. It was fascinating and educational to learn about the craft of chocolates from fruit to beans to the chocolate bar, and to get to chocolate taste along the way. Their work is inspiring-adding minimal ingredients to their chocolate bars so that the flavors of the cacao beans shine naturally from where they originate. After the tour, we tried the hojicha hot chocolate, the celebration cake, and the matcha cookie. For the hojicha hot chocolate, the tea flavor was subtle, but good chocolate. The celebration cake was what we expected-glad it wasn't overly sweet so that cocoa is more pronounced, but it also wasn't too rich; I felt the chocolate here in some sense lacked depth. The matcha cookie was my favorite-a cake texture matcha exterior encasing a denser brownie-like chocolate core - a delicious combo! Last thoughts to prep for the experience if you tour- 1.) Eat before you go on the tour-sampling chocolate means you do get caffeinated, and you'll likely purchase more chocolate (more caffeine!) after :) 2.) Included with the tour is a complimentary chocolate drink of choice at the end, in case you were pondering whether to buy the hot chocolate or not ;) 3.) Dandelion Chocolate products are pricey but quality. Paying the price feels like it's appreciation of their art. If you love chocolate, it's a wonderful place to visit at least once!
