So disappointed! Family came to town for the weekend and I recommended what I thought to be a nice place to stay. She requested cash or check only and cash was given. After one night they had to check out! Cobwebs and spiders everywhere including all over the floral arrangement which hung directly above their heads. They checked out the next morning she came to the room offered to fumigate which was unacceptable because residing in a place immediately after fumigation is not recommended health-wise. She then proceeded to keep two nights stay and only refund the rest. This is not good customer service and is not acceptable. Not a place I would recommend for guests to stay in Placerville. There are many other options with higher standards of quality than this. Enjoy the picture of what was above their heads while they attempted to sleep all night. read more

I love The Seasons. The hubs and I have stayed here twice now and it was nothing short of fabulous! The grounds around the bnb are enchanting, beautiful and tranquil. We stayed in the peach cottage both times. It has a little kitchen and is quite roomy-sleeps 3. The best part is the breakfast. Outstanding homemade quiche, probably the best I've ever had no kidding. Berry turnovers from Apple Hill and fresh coffee... So good! It's also a very short walk in to Placerville Main Street where there are tons of cute shops and places to eat, wine tasting, good beer etc. We will definitely be back again and again. Oh and I almost forgot. The seasons is pet friendly. We were able to bring our two little dogs who loved staying there as well. If you're going to Placerville make it a point to stay here...you won't regret it! read more

Loved staying at The Seasons! Robyn was a wonderful hostess, and the home/grounds are really pretty, it feels like staying in a nice home (with cool history!). This is the perfect place to stay in Placerville - the location couldn't be better (walking distance to everything you'd want to see downtown but on a quiet, leafy street with easy parking). Some of the rooms are pet-friendly, and even our large German Shepherd was made to feel right at home - Robyn kindly allowed him to run around the gardens freely, which he loved. She has a long history with the Humane Society and is genuinely happy to have a pet around, so we really felt comfortable and welcome. Robyn has an excellent eye for detail - from really pretty accessories everywhere to some Chanel toiletries and rose-scented hand soap, I really appreciated all of the interesting/nice little details (check out the photos I added). The grounds and the home are really well taken care of. No TVs in the rooms, but we enjoyed sitting in the garden talking and reading. Breakfast was delicious! We had two different quiche flavors to choose from (meat and vegetarian - the goat cheese vegetarian was my favorite). Most of the food was local (cider from Apple Hill, Placervillian cherries, etc.) and just so, so yummy. Having breakfast in the garden was a really wonderful start to the day. There were always newspapers and magazines in various locations, as well (again - nice details). We shared tips about cool things to do in the area with two other guests, and Robyn had plenty of fun stories to tell, as well. Our stay here was so wonderful! The property is gorgeous, private, and Robin and her staff are wonderful hosts. Breakfast was delicious, and our dog LOVED running around the yard! There are so few pet friendly accommodations where our dog can safely run around in an enclosed space so we loved this! The cottage was comfortable, close to downtown, and totally reasonably priced. My wife and I were married here in 2007, and we were in the area after 7 years. I was glad to see the Seasons was still a B&B and holding weddings. I have never stayed overnight, but our family did and really enjoyed the site. The location is perfect for a wedding, especially if you want to be outside in the summer. It's was much cooler than Sacramento, and only about 45 minutes. Great location that was easy for family, reasonably priced but most importantly is the fact that the owner handled south and helped us out making sure we were prepared. read more

PET FRIENDLY! I couldn't have been happier with my stay at The Seasons. The quaint Peach Cottage was a lovely reminder of yesteryear and the organic gardens a safe place for my pup to freely run, jump, sniff and play. I very much enjoyed the delicious ham and cheese quiche, coffee, juice and pastries that was delivered to the cottage at a time I chose. Robyn is a lovely woman and very accommodating. The B&B is minutes away from Apple Hill where, in the fall, you can enjoy the many orchard farms and eat all the apple pie a'la mode you can handle. The B&B is within walking distance to historic old town Placerville where there is no shortage of places to enjoy a meal and the ambiance of a small gold rush town. read more

This place is awesome! Don't let the other reviews deter you from staying, especially since the other reviewers NEVER stayed there. Robyn came outside to greet us as we were getting out of our car after a long drive up. She is very friendly and made our check-in process quick and painless. She gave us a quick tour of the grounds and even offered to help us with our bags. Ohhhh, the grounds...where do I begin? It was like walking into the Secret Garden! A set of stone steps lead down to the garden and courtyard. There are two cottages. One is a duplex that houses the Moulin Rouge and Monet rooms. The other cottage, Peach cottage, is a single that is on the opposite side of the garden. Little stone paths lead the way around the center fountain that is surrounded by roses, lavender and daisies. We stayed in the Moulin Rouge room which had great space and big bathroom that had a double shower for two! ;) The gourmet breakfast was delicious and served to us on our porch!!! Now that is service! Our breakfast on the first day was a tasty tomato and goat cheese individual quiche and a dutch baby pancake with Italian coffee. The next morning we had ham and mushroom quiches and freshly baked turnovers! The blackberry filling was yummy! The B&B is less than 1/2 mile away from historic downtown. We walked one night over a beautifully designed footbridge to dinner at Cascada (so worth it!). If you find yourself needing a place to stay in the Placerville area definitely give this charming B&B a try! Also check out the review on tripadvisor - they are equally outstanding. Parking - street only but there is plenty of it. Payment is only cash or check. I hope this place will soon be able to accept credit cards and an online reservation service. read more

We were supposed to get married here but things changed and so we didn't but I still want to give a shout out to The Seasons Bed and Breakfast. I can't speak much for the cottages and rooms at this BnB but I was able to view two of them. They are cozy and comfortable with a vintage feel. The peach cottage is the only one with a small kitchen area and I'm not quite sure if each room has a tv, but it's a great place to disconnect and enjoy yourself and your company in the great town of Placerville! Wedding talk: If you're looking for a beautiful garden to get married in, this would be the place for you. Robyn maintains the flowers and greenery very well and the grounds are all natural and charming and lovely to walk through. It's not very big, it's only on 3/4 of an acre but I feel like it would be perfect for those who want a more intimate wedding. She can host up to 200 people for the ceremony with the reception held next door at the Shakespeare Club, but I feel like for both a wedding and reception at the BnB, it would be best to cap your guest list at 80 max. Then there would be plenty of space for your guests to walk around without feeling like sardines. Robyn is great to work with. She has a few (common sense) rules that must be followed but she's also extremely flexible and has a lot of great ideas and suggestions and is more than willing to help out. I felt like my wedding would have gone smoothly if I was able to hold it here. As of today, the price for a spring/ almost summer wedding was $2500 for the venue. That included allowing you to come and decorate on Friday, have the event on Saturday, the couple would be allowed one cottage included for Saturday night, with check out and clean up on Sunday. The only qualm I would have is that the venue isn't exactly handicap friendly (it's a historic building in downtown Placerville) and Robyn does not do emails. If you want to communicate with her, have any questions, et, you will have to call her and (most of the time) leave a message and wait for her to call you back. Now most of the time she calls back pretty quick but at this day and age where I do everything over my phone or laptop, I felt a little lost. Other than that, this is the perfect wedding venue for a small and intimate DIY wedding where you save on money because the flowers in bloom are already gorgeous! read more

My boyfriend & I had a rough week and wanted to get the hell out of town. Problem, we didn't want to drive very far. So I looked up some places in Placerville and we liked the sounds of The Seasons. Bonus- they were pet friendly so we could bring our doggie with us! We arrived and were greeted at the door by Robyn, the innkeeper. WE LOVE HER! She is so great and friendly! The place is on a quaint little street in historic Placerville. Super quiet. Absolutely gorgeous place. We stayed in our own private cottage with a kitchen & it's own little yard. The kitchen had everything you could need. The toiletries in the bathroom are the only ones I've ever even wanted to use in a hotel. The room was cute and had an additional chaise for looking out the window. The bookshelf was stocked with tons of books and magazines for guests. Our cottage overlooked the beautiful Garden. The following morning we had a gourmet breakfast delivered to our cottage door at the time we specified. (they have you pick what time you want it delivered and where you want it put, awesome!). Breakfast was delicious! Coffee, tea, Dutch pancakes with fresh berries and ham and mushroom quiches. Yum! I cannot say enough about this place. It was perfect for us. Our daughter was married here last year, and it was absolutely perfect! The Garden has a lovely and quiet ambiance, and at that time of year it was abundant with flowers. Gardening is a passion of mine, so I especially loved checking out the abundance of plants and flowers. This is a very special place, nestled in a historic part of Placerville. You can easily walk to Downtown and enjoy the "Gold Rush" experience of this charming town, with it's many shops and restaurants. The owner was especially helpful with our daughters wedding, from planning to execution. We spent a total of three days, enjoying all of the cottages ( for our big group!). It was a lovely experience, and we definitely plan to have a reunion there in the near future. read more

Had my wedding here on November 8th and booked the whole place for the night. It was simply stunning! The fall leaves were so beautiful, they definitely accentuated the natural beauty of the whole place. I received nothing but compliments from everyone on the venue and how beautiful it was. The rustic charm and historic rooms were very accommodating for anyone who plans on staying here overnight. Robyn, the owner, was nothing short of marvelous. Her crew helped set up and take down for the ceremony, ran around to help people with last minute details, and even helped my maid of honor iron her dress because it got a bit wrinkled! The breakfast the next morning was all organic and absolutely delicious! We had an artichoke quiche, hot blueberry pie, some sort of yogurt with berries (I ate it all and I hate yogurt), coffee, tea, water, juice. We ate out in the garden area and loved listening to the leaves falling around us. Oh and did I mention? This place is pet friendly! My black lab mix, Xena was my ring bearer, and for pictures when Xena wasn't looking directly at the camera Robyn got down on her hands and knees right next to the photographer to help make the perfect picture. Xena was also allowed to stay in our room for the night (We stayed in the Peach room). There is nothing Robyn wouldn't do to help accommodate us. So take my advice, if you're looking for a nice bed and breakfast, or for a wedding venue, this place is IT! No need to look elsewhere! read more

Such a lovely place for a fall getaway! The grounds are heavenly and The Seasons is a short stroll to quaint downtown Placerville with lots of dining options. Robyn was responsive, helpful, accommodating, and hospitable. We stayed in the Moulin Rouge room - so cozy and welcoming. Robyn served us a delightful breakfast on the sweet little porch right outside our room. Homemade quiche, banana bread, dates, and just the best coffee! On our second day we needed to leave early, so Robyn packed our breakfast in to-go boxes. We highly recommend. read more

My husband and I, along with our two dogs, had a wonderful three day weekend at the Seasons. I didn't even want to come home yesterday. The owner and staff are extremely warm and down to earth people. Service was wonderful and friendly. Food is out of of this world. I can't even say enough about the property itself. From the front of the building it looks just like a nice old home. But once you get down the stairs and into the garden area you feel like you're in a different world. So quiet and beautiful. I won't go into all the details since the below reviews cover them well. I love old buildings and being within walking distance from the historic downtown made the stay even better. I have tried calling at least 10 times a day for the past 3 days at all different times of the day and just get a recorded message. The first day I left a message and 3 days later have still not gotten a call back. If the service before your stay is any indicator of he service during your stay I would say "Stay Away". read more

My husband and I chose to stay at the Seasons for several days and loved it. It is so close to downtown Placerville, Apple Hill and Lake Tahoe, so there is a lot to do during the day. But it was also nice to be able to come back to our cottage ( we stayed in Peach Cottage), and just relax, read or explore the garden. The food served at breakfast was very good, and not just the usual fare. We will certainly stay there again when we need an escape from the daily grind. read more

Total rip off! My daughter got married at the Shakespeare Club next door, so we rented a room for the night. First, they charged extra for the two other girls just to get ready in the room. Next, they charged 100 bucks to take pics in the so called garden. Finally, there was not hot water in the morning for a shower. Total cost for 1 night was almost 400 bucks! read more
