It's hard to find a good tailor that you can trust with your clothes. I found Casa De Oro Tailoring via yelp. Walked in and was greeted with such a friendly and welcoming hello. Kim is the owner and I believe she said the shop has been there for about 20 plus years in business, and I can see why they've been so successful. She's professional, friendly, and gets the job done right in a timely matter and reasonable price. I have never had such luck to find a place as Awesome as Kim's tailor shop. Brought in a bridesmaid dress to be tailored. Told her I needed it by Oct 10th for a wedding out of town. She told me and wrote on the receipt that it would be done by the 5th. Forgot they were not open on Mondays. I flew out for the wedding the next day , which was Tuesday the 11th. My husband went to pick it up later that day on the 11th. After buying a bridesmaid dress at Prevue in La Mesa and it not fitting. I needed to get my dress altered. Prevue wanted to charge $100 for alterations and that was ontop of the $270 cost of the dress. I googled alteration places near my job and found Casa De Oro Tailoring. I dropped off my dress and Kim told me she would have it done in a few days. My dress was 2 layers and she only charged $20 for the alteration. I called other places and they wanted at least $75 for the two layers. Today I went to pick up my dress and Kim remembered my name and that I was the maid of honor in the wedding. I have used Kim several times and have been completely satisfied - and then some. She does great work at a fair price. What I especially appreciate is that once I went in to change a hemline. She looked at it when I tried it on and said that I should not change it. Kim is very nice, does an excellent job, and gives you a fair price. She did alterations on my bridesmaid's dress for my cousin's wedding. I didn't really like that dress, and the fit was awkward for me. She found a way to make it fit me nicely without costing me a bunch of money. She also did it a week after I brought it to her. Because she did a good job, I decided to get her to alter my maid-of-honor dress for my sister's wedding. I was also not feeling well. She was very accommodating, and helped me get into my dress when I was not in good condition. Even though it was a busy season for alterations for her (holidays and wedding season), she was also to get my maid-of-honor dress on time, or if I remember correctly, ahead of time. This place is great! They do a good job and are very courteous. They're reasonably priced. She works with you on a time frame if your in a hurry too. Just make sure when you get things altered your wearing shoes you'll wear with the item. It makes a difference and she did warn me about that before hemming my pants. Lesson learned. read more
