Second time dining here over the past month. We sat at the small bar and each had a very well made martini. Roger the bartender was fun. Once seated, Lindsay our waitress was terrific. We started with the Ricotta appetizer (again). Amazing (again). We shared a bottle of Chianti and I had the gnocchi in tomato sauce with a meatball and my husband had the prime rib (Saturday nights only) with risotto and vegetables. Both meals were delicious. I've posted about Casa de Pasta in the past with much higher reviews. Our visit tonight was a disappointment to put it lightly. There has been a real change in quality lately. First the menu changes- no longer options to create your own pasta. Second you no longer get the fresh Italian bread with garlic butter. Now you get hard, stale focaccia bread that's barely edible. Third, we ordered a special for summer vegetable pasta. There was lots of noodles- little sauce and fewer summer vegetables. The veggies included were heavy on canned olives & mushrooms. Yuck! Our waitress was new and trying hard. She was struggling The neighboring table was annoying. They wanted greens but not greens & beans. They were friends of the owner so he was summoned to help them. Obviously they required a higher degree of service. The owner scuttled off to their beck & call and chose not to check in with those of us annoyed by their demands. I was sad to see things have declined here. read more

Terrible. Worst meal EVER. Expensive seafood pasta was fishy and I've never had pasta so bad and so mushy. Take the fresh pasta out of the pot after a minute or two not 20. I never write a bad review but spending $50 on this dish was beyond insulting and the wait staff did nothing to make it better. Too bad there isn't a zero star option. read more

This place is definitely not Arthur Avenue. There was a sheen of oil on everything including the soup! The shrimp was good but the sauce was unrecognizable as scampi. The veg were canned or frozen and over salted. My risotto would have been better named rice Mac and Cheese. My companion like his chicken masala better but still swimm in oil. This was a revisit. The only other time we came here was during COVID. I had Chicken Marsala and the sauce had a robust Marsala flavor which a lot of other places lack. The tomato bisque soup was bold and bracingly acidic but creamy also. I appreciated the variety of domestic and imported wines by the glass available. I also tried the Mac & cheese as a side dish. It was a generous bowl of pasta and certainly had good texture but the flavor reminded both of us of a Pasta Roni or Knorr pasta side more than a restaurant dish. Service was adequate but just barely. Though our server was almost always visible in the dining room, we had as many interactions with the bartender and host/manager as we did our server and even combined that was minimal. For example, I wasn't asked if I wanted another glass of wine because our server said hi just once between ordering dinner and her checking in about desert. The actual entrees were delivered by other people. Value factor was definitely poor. Want tomato bisque instead of Italian Wedding soup? 4 dollars extra on top of entrees that mostly range from 26 to 32 dollars. Want cheese melted on your pasta dish? Another couple dollars. Beet salad instead of house salad an extra 8 dollars. Our meal consisted of 2 entrees, 1 of which had 6 dollars of up charges, a single glass of wine, 1 soft drink and 1 desert and totaled 91 dollars pre-tip. The best spin I can put on it was that we deemed both entrees good enough to take the leftovers home but at a minimum, the experience wasn't inline with the price, EVEN allowing for some 2024 inflation realities. read more

All was good, food was fresh and tasty, the service was very attentive and polite, and the ambience is ok, it's a little crowded.

It's been a while since we have eaten at Casa De Pasta, and decided to order take out tonight. The specials looked great, but could not figure out how to order them online. When we went to checkout other items though, the suggested tip for a take out order was 25%. It amounted to almost $30. Now I will add a small tip to a takeout order, but not anywhere close to 25%. This suggestion was insulting to us, we did not order, and went elsewhere where we felt we were not being pressured to add a $30 tip for two meals. read more

The ricotta appetizer was absolutely delicious. I wasn't as fond of the calamari appetizer that needed to be crisper. They were incredibly accommodating to my husband's gluten-free needs. Our waitress even got him some ice cream, which was not on the menu, for dessert. read more

I want to start by saying that the service was excellent and our waitress was super attentive and kind. The bread seemed to be a bit stale, and while the food was tasty it was definitely different than what we have come to expect from Italian places. Italian food is best when you have a few simple ingredients and let them shine. The building and physical space could use a bit of love. The window shades were visibly dirty with food splatter and the bathrooms were not the cleanest. I think there are some good bones here but encourage the team to go back to making the basics great. read more

Long term Italian Restaurant that has really survived the test of time! Ate here back in high school on a date with now husband 27 years ago! So maybe it's good luck on the marital front, . Very pleased to find that some things don't change...in the best way! We just moved back to the area and took our daughter for dinner. Great service, excellent portions and outstanding food! The 2 things I would suggest is more ambient lighting and soft instrumental music, Italian or seasonal at the holidays, be played. read more

Pretty pricey. Good food. Both servers the last 2 times I went did not give me the wine I ordered. They served me the right color wine, but a Pinot Grigio is NOT a Chardonnay, and a Malbec is NOT a Merlot. read more

Last visit to casa de pasta was disappointing. I think their food quality has lost a couple of stars Meatballs were not tasty and the sauce lacks seasoning. Was never this way in days gone by. Must be struggling to find an Italian chef. Ambiance is not conducive to hearing yourself talk. The establishment is too confining to have good acoustics. Suggest take out if you are desperate and add more seasonings at home. Or, best solution, avoid poor quality and high Bidenmoronic prices and learn to cook yourself, which I am doing more of every day. I am finding that dining out is not only stressful today but a supreme waste of time, effort and money. read more

We arrived at the restaurant 8:15 PM on a Saturday evening. A couple was seated not more than 5 minutes prior to the hostess greeting us. The hostess excused herself and went to the kitchen. Approximately 5 minutes later she came back with a look of shock and stated that the head chef told her that they ran out of food. I said there must be a pasta dish available. She stated again, the chef has completely run out of food and dismissed us without even offering a drink. I have been a regular customer of this establishment for many years. I obviously won't be back. We left and went to Nolan's for a fabulous meal. In canindagua for a concert and with limited options chose this place. The atmosphere is a toned down old school Italian restaurant with big candles on the table. I got the vodka pasta with meatball and a cup of the shrimp bisque. My husband got the eggplant parm and a cup of the shrimp bisque. We both struggled with the bisque because it was unbelievably salty. As far as the entrees my husband said the eggplant parm was very thin but tasted good. Mine on the other hand I couldn't even eat. It was the worst tasting vodka sauce I had ever had. It tasted nothing like vodka sauce and the meatballs were not good either. When the waitress came back she asked if I wanted a box as I had barely touched it and I said no it was not good. She apologized and said she would take it off the bill. The soup came with the entree but when they took off the entree they charged me $9 for the soup which I also did not eat. I know there is limited options in canindagaua but do yourself a favor and try somewhere else. read more

Still thinking about my dinner here last night. Everything was amazing! Sara our waitress was so sweet and gave us some suggestions since it was our first time there and she nailed it with every suggestion. The wedge salad made with homemade blue cheese dressing, bread with seasoning oil and shrimp bisque soup were delicious. Why I keep returning! The service is always friendly! I think it is the Owner him self that always lets us have a seat. We went there years ago and did not call, as always. He gave us a table and always makes a joke when we arrive for a visit. Dry hummer but I love it. Just like when I visit The Bay Street in Sodus. Almost Always makes room for us. Limited Menu then what is on line, COVID 19 spacing and meeting all specifications. Small but comfortable setting. We ordered one of there specials of the night. Prime rib med. Rare. We ordered caramri it was very tender and tasty. We enjoyed the prime rib, I actually ate it all!! Sides where tasty. We asked to taste a red wine and they were happy to give us one. We ordered the bottle and to our surprise it was the one we have been looking for that others do not carry!! Clicki g our heels in happiness!!. We had nice hot loaf of soft tasty bread served with butter, whipped flavored butter, olive oil and vinegar. I ate mine with the olive oil, hot pepper flakes,and greated cheese. It would of been nice to of had some oregano and garlic but non the less I ate my fare share!! We chose not to choose the soup or the salad. Way too much food lol. You would have to use your GPS to find this little hideaway. It is behind main Street buildings on a little side street. It will be worth the trip to Canadagua NY, to visit here just for the people that work here not just the food!! Glade they are making it through these hard times. We ordered several trays of food from Casa De Pasta for a party after a couple of places closer to Rochester were booked up, and I was impressed. The red sauce was very flavorful. The homemade meatballs were huge, and the sausages had just the right amount of spice. I look toward to dining in the restaurant to try their prime rib. read more

If you are looking to go out for a nice dinner this place is small with a full varied menu, of course the Italian food is fabulous. All handmade with large portions. Such a wonderful surprise. We tried it out on a Friday night, highly recommend reservations as it's small and gets busy quick. We enjoyed the calamari with banana peppers and lemon, done perfectly. Lobster Bisque was delish. Their take on Italian Wedding soup had tomatoes and was very good. Chicken French was moist and I appreciated that it was not over sauced, just the perfect amount. Order the risotto and broccoli with it. The risotto was cheesy and creamy. Lobster ravioli came with perfectly done scallops and shrimp. The ravioli were a bit tough and frankly very little lobster, we did need to ask for more sauce because very little made it on the plate. Desserts did not disappoint, spumoni Bombay and mint chocolate cheesecake- damn good! read more

FANTASTIC! We visited unexpectedly this week and what a lovely, delicious discovery. The spice plate with oil and fresh bread was so good--lots of fresh garlic and grated Asiago and parmigiana cheese. The the Italian plate for two: meatballs, sausage, stuffed shells, and lasagna, plus cheesy garlic bread dipped in fabulous marinara sauce. Like most restaurants these days, this one is hiring new servers and adapting to its post-COVID dining world. There was a glitch or two, but our busboy quickly set things to rights. We were stuck in a corner which I don't usually like but they were busy. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. I got the eggplant. It wasn't bad but it could have had a little more cheese and sauce on it for my liking. It was a little dry. The pricing seemed reasonable and overall the service was very good. read more
