This place has absolutely delicious birria tacos and consomé. This has been the only thing I've ordered from their menu (there's no other place I know of near me that serves these tacos) but I would also like to try their birria quesadillas. They're listed on the menu as "red tacos" and are about $15 for 3 tacos and the consomé is a separate extra cost. When it comes out fresh, the tacos are super cheesy and yummy. The building is very spacious and doesn't get too busy, so I always get to grab a table. In the middle of the restaurant, they display their desserts and pastries such as flan and alfajores. The restaurant is located in the Park and Shop surrounded by a lot of different Asian cuisines, dessert shops, and a grocery store. If you try parking close to the restaurant, that is the area that is the most congested, we always park in the back of the building.

We order the ahogado torta (with pork) and the asada torta, the aqua chile (shrimp) and elota All was super good. Loved my sauced sandwich. Too much food so custards for later

There's a fire new chef here that is bringing authentic Guadalajara and Jalisco style cooking to Concord and I highly recommend his menu. There are some amazing dishes with spices from Guadalajara and recipes that are inspired by the chef's grandmothers cooking and they were all so good. If Guy Fieri is living in Flavor Town, then this new spot called Izcalli is Flavor KINGDOM. They have Elote, Red Tacos, Birria, and Stir Fried Birria Noodles which own it's own was fire but add in some of that extra spice and it's even more amazing! I had a hard time deciding on what to get, so I basically got it all. For dessert, I had a yummy ice cream with a short bread cookie on the bottom and I need to have more! Please come check this spot out and support local businesses! It was amazing!

The beef sandwich had crunchy bread, but the sauce was salty. Otherwise, it was a good sandwich. Got some cookies and bread to go. They have so many but mostly dulce in the middle. Alfajores cookies, which they speciaize. They have corn cookies, which are gluten-free. Nice people.

Chilaquiles con mole - chicken mole, onions, sour cream, and fresh avocado with beans and eggs. Scrumptious!!!

Delectable alfajores at your service! The name speaks for itself; this house of tasty Peruvian cookies is one that should not be overlooked. I stopped by to pick up a couple of alfajores and ended up staying for breakfast. How about that? The breakfast was scrum-diddily-umptious by the way. The interior is super spacious! I walked in and couldn't believe how roomy it was. They have a small bakery section where you can grab fresh bread and other pastries. On the other side of the bread are grab and go alfajores. When I walked up to the ordering counter, the sweet young man was very helpful in answering all of my questions. This is a family owned and operated business which is always nice to see around these parts. I noticed that they were offering some breakfast and lunch items, so I decided to try out a breakfast plate. I ordered their chilaquiles con mole, chai latte, and three of their alfajores (coconut, pecan, and powdered sugar). I asked for the breakfast to be made for there, but they accidentally made it for to-go. No biggie since it was still delish, but I really wanted to get a nice picture of it (you know us Yelpers be!). The chilaquiles were friggin' BOMB! They feature chicken mole, onions, sour cream, fresh avocado, beans, eggs, and tortilla chips. The chicken mole was rich and flavorful. They came covered in sour cream and super fresh avocado! YUM! Loved, looooved, LOVED their alfajores! They literally melted in my mouth after the first bite. My absolute favorite was their coconut one. I love coconut but usually avoid anything that has coconut shreds because I'm not a fan of the consistency. However, THAT baby was fantastic! Come to MAMA! Those coconut alfajores can get it all day, every day! Their chai tea was a huge miss, however. First off, it's powder based and it tasted like it didn't have any flavor whatsoever. I can't really fault them on this too much though since it's not really a "café" per se. I'm seriously craving some of their coconut alfajores now... damnit! So excited to have this house of goodies in the 'Cord now. Looking forward to many more glutinous visits here soon.

Regular alfajor (powdered sugar) + coconut alfajor. Chocolate ones on bottom. The powder sugar got disturbed a bit due to travel.

Happened to be in the area so stopped by about 10am on a Tuesday. No one else was in there but that was good since I had to get back to work. I was greeted by the friendly cashier and asked he asked if I wanted a sample of their coconut alfajor - very delicious. Ended up buying 9 alfajores (coconut, regular, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate). The cholate ones cost more than regular and coconut. They also had a pecan and white chocolate alfajores options, they even had mini versions. All my coworkers enjoyed them and I was so happy to find a good place. Would definitely come back to buy them.

This place is a must try!!! I was so excited when this place opened. Their alfajor cookies are very tasty, and freshly bake. They are soft and creamy like a butter cookie but better. They are not extremely sweet but with a lot of flavor. They also have other kind of cookies with white chocolate, milk chocolate, and more. We have tried several and they were all amazing (I couldn't pick my favorite.) I will definitely come back. They also have breakfast and this delicious sandwiches with home made bread. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to please their costumers and they offer samples as well. If you are in the area, stop by this gem. You won't regret it.

This place have great cookies . I couldn't decide which to get so I bought a variety of cookies. The Alfajores cookies are baked fresh and tasted like butter cookies but much better, it had a smooth and a light cream in the center which gives it a perfect combination and not to sweet. I also tried their best seller sandwich which is the Barbacoa Tortas and just pour the spicy sauce over it, it was cooked just right, taste great:) Friendly service. Will definitely come here again:)

I only stop by for the alfajores, shortbread sandwich cookies filled with delectable dulce de leche, dusted with powdered sugar. Casa Del Alfajor offers several varieties of these cookies along with a few breakfast and grocery items. The alfajores are a South American treat and they are delicious. Casa Del Alfajor is located at Park 'N' Shop closer to Joann Fabrics. It's a big space that could be better utilized. There is indoor seating if you want to enjoy coffee with your cookies, breakfast, or tortas and salads. The center glass displays house the cookies that you can choose yourself. They provide trays and tongs for your convenience. Along the sides of the bakery they have breads, random canned foods, and vinegar for purchase.

Did not try anything else but the cookies YET. This place is a Mexican/South American bakery/restaurant if I remember correctly but anyways the cookies were great. Not bad at all. Walked in expecting different types of pan and empanadas and such but was pleasantly surprised with the cookies. They're soft and not too sweet. The different toppings actually made a huge difference which was surprising since the cajeta and cookie itself didn't change but ultimately it was a nice little snack to have while out in the Concord area.

Variation of Alfajores from my visit today.

Absolutely the best way to cool down! I was thrilled to discover Ice Monster in Walnut Creek! Not only can I get an authentic Taiwanese shaved ice, but they have an incredible variety of ice flavors (strawberry, mango, green tea, etc) and toppings. They also have boba tea (which also originated in Taiwan), milk tea, regular ice cream, freshly cooked Chinese finger foods, and more. The place has tables inside and out and is always immaculate. I also really appreciate that they don't add the problem of landfills overflowing with plastics! They use real dishes and real silverware. I don't know of any other place that conscientious. I have been going here for 8 years. It was started by a couple from Taiwan and the owners the last several years are from China. I just was not sure if the floral flavor paired well with the red bean filling I chose for the inside of my fish-shaped cone. We also ordered their matcha soft serve, which used to be my favorite, but the matcha flavor yesterday did not seem as strong as I remembered. Other than that, my experience was really great. The store was nice and clean, and even though we had a party of six, we were able to get the largest table, which was perfect. It was also very well air conditioned, which felt amazing given the unusually hot weather we have been having in Concord in the middle of March. She flipped it over once and then stuffed it in the cup leaving so much topping (that I was paying extra for!!) on the counter! So I said politely, "you're gonna give me that topping right" and she was like " oh ok" and then she like smushed it on the top like I was at a yogurt shop or something!!! Especially when you're ripping me off and not giving me my proper number of turns to fold the topping into the ice cream and then leaving my toppings on the counter! I was just really disappointed and I think I'll just go to Coco swirl across the street from now on because if I'm gonna have my ice cream with the topping on top, I might as well put my own topping on my yogurt. I was just looking at the pictures and was reminded that it didn't even seem like I was given a full medium serving of ice cream because as you can see it was low and then the toppings are on top such a bad experience.
