I had a groupon. Very misleading. Really it's not such a deal they make it out to be. Plus if you spend over $20 per entree you have to pay difference. Food was ok , nothing to get excited about. I enjoyed my salad and dessert the best. My son wasn't thrilled either. I also was very confused why I had to pay an automatic $23 tip. They have the absolute best date night deal on Groupon right now! I think I paid $47 (w/the code SAVE), and it was an enormous amount of food. Two plates of garlic bread w/dipping oil, appetizer to share, (2) salads, (2) dinners, (2) desserts, and they gave us (2) complimentary sorbets. Went back a second time to try different things, and though many other options were just as delicious as before I was not a fan of the deep fried lasagna. I was iffy about it before I ordered it, but after getting it it's kind of what I feared which was a bit too much breading that distracted from the actual deliciousness of a lasagna. Every time I order from here I seem to decrease my rating by a star, but this time it's all the way to 1. I've given them a lot of patience in the past because the food is great and I wanted them to succeed after their remodel, but I've lost my patience. Every single time we order, it's never ready in time despite the fact that it never appears busy. Every single time we've ordered there has only been 1 table seated but for some reason we still end up waiting at least 15 minutes past the estimated pick up time (which is already 30-40 minutes typically). This time was no different. 1 table seated and still had to wait 50 total minutes for our food to be done. This is the third time we've shown up where our food clearly wasn't even started and they had to start it when we got there. There have a serious staffing and time management problem. However, these aren't even the reasons my rating is now 1 star. The reason for that, is that I found not ONE but TWO DIFFERENT hairs in my food!!! I was absolutely disgusted and couldn't even eat my food after opening the container and finding them right on top but caked into the sauce!! I will certainly not be returning here. Even took some pictures as proof. This place will not be open long of they continue operating like this. My husband happened upon this restaurant because we had a Groupon-type promo, which provided us with a 5-course experience of amazing food, service and ambiance. Although it was more expensive than we would normally prefer, it was well worth it. We were a little nervous upon arrival since there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant, but we quickly realized that a large portion of their business is take-out. Regardless, our initial hesitation was quickly relieved when our waiter, Armando, took his time explaining the 5-course special. He even suggested that we move to a bigger table due to the amount of food we are about to be served. Even before our actual meal arrived, we were served with a large plate of garlic bread with a very unique, amazing dipping sauce. Our actual meal included two salads (beet and goat cheese did not disappoint!), an appetizer to share (stuffed hot peppers served over buttered garlic bread-delicious), a cute watermelon sorbet served in a carved out lemon as a palate cleanser, two entrees up to $30 (you could pay the difference if your choice exceeded that amount, and two desserts, which we had to take home because we were so incredibly stuffed. We also brought home at least half of our entrees, which is rare as we both are healthy, hearty eaters, but the portion sizes were very generous. Even the leftovers were delicious, rounding out a very nice dinner experience on a Friday night. We ended up being the only people in the entire restaurant by the time we left, but we never felt rushed. We simply took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the ambiance, Frank Sinatra music playing in the background, and friendly, knowledgeable service provided by Armando. Even with the lack of any alcoholic beverages, we were able to enjoy this rare find in South Buffalo. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to enjoy a great meal in a quaint environment with impeccable service. Will definitely return to this venue in the future! read more

This restaurant: PHENOMENAL!! This is my first review on Yelp and it's well-earned. The appetizer was alright (Ricotta Fritters), but I had the Spaghetti and Meatball and it was, wow. Heavenly. The sauce was a creamy, rich, and sweet but not overly sweet with just the right amount of cheese on it. The meatball wasn't fantastic but hey, meat is meat haha. So it was good. My mom got the Fettucini Tenderloin and ordered it Medium Rare. Wow, the quality of the meat was perfect, juicy, and a wonderful pink. I loved it. Note: she got Spaghetti instead of Fettucini but it was still amazing. My dad got the Chicken Sausage Pasta, it comes with bow tie pasta and sausage that was covered in a wonderfully creamy and tasty white sauce. Splendid. And finally, my sister got the Chicken Parmesan. Holy. Cow. The chicken was divine, the cheese on top fantastic, and the spaghetti on the bottom wonderful. Tonight we ordered on Skip the Dishes from Casa Di Francesca's this place can permanently forget who we are. We order several entrees and appetizers. We ordered the antipasto, trio appetizers, and Lobster gnocchi. We had lasagna, chicken Francesca, and the seafood ravioli. I utterly do not know where to start. The salads were the only edible things we ordered tonight. The rest of the dishes I will discuss like we are watching a murder crime mystery. The first at large is the Lobster gnocchi- these are suppose to be light and fluffy and float upon cooking. These were sold dumplings that rested like soiled potatoes. These creations are making the South Buffalo Irish kids cry from the waste of potatoes. Where the Lobster was in this crime we don't know he is still at large. Charged with breaking hearts. The seafood ravioli is covered with a Alfredo like sauce. However this had a flour base and was more like a bearnaise sauce with out flavor. The ravioli's smelled fishy. This is never a good sign. This did a drive by straight into the trash. Charged with attempted bloating and stomach cramps. The lasagna was two layers and it was ok in flavor however the noodles were soggy. Nothing more to say than petty crime also released into the garbage. Charged with impersonating a lasagna. The king pin of the evening goes to Chicken Francesca this literally tasted like cheese cake. The sauce was like eating candy it was absolutely disgusting. If you want Italian do not go here. Was craving pasta and decided to try here. I moved into the area in January and have yet to find good pasta, what did I have to lose? I ordered via DoorDash, and was excited. My partner and I got 2 steak and asparagus Alfredo, but was really disappointed. My steak was suppose to be rare, it was over cooked and just a few thin pieces. Asparagus was cut up into small pieces, but it amounted to about one stem per entree... and the Alfredo sauce tasted like one of those $1 packs from the grocery store. I could've saved $22 x2. I watched the Restaurant Impossible episode and have been anxiously awaiting trying them out, including some of Irvine's new creations. Ordered via Slice where you can get 10% off, pickup or delivery. I ordered the Lobster Gnocchi app which I felt was an interesting choice to be an app not entree, which it could be, however I was happy the reviews were true - they were light and fluffy, not the heavy kind I'm used to. Unclear on whether they are ricotta or potato based but most definitely delicious. You won't get tons of lobster meat but what you do it perfectly cooked and does the trick. I skipped the scallops for the time being but I'll be tearing those out. Next I went with Irvine's creative twist on a Buffalo staple, the Porchetta on Weck - it won't be replacing the beef on weck for me but I would definitely eat it again. The roll was loaded with pork and gooey cheese, and something gave it a slightly sweet flavor. It was perfectly cooked meat but maybe just a little too much herb for me, not bad just not a huge rosemary fan. All in all everything was great, either the restaurant or delivery person forgot my Pepsi but I got a refund and that's certainly not a huge deal. Used a Groupon ... never heard of this place, so why not try it. Staff super friendly and sorbet to cleanse palette was a nice touch. Calamari was awesome ... scallops were perfect!!! Beware in Groupon though.... Paid $61 for $117. They tell you everything you can order, then charge you additional for it. We figured it out that after the price I paid for Groupon and the extra charge, it came to what the meal cost without the Groupon. So really there's no deal. In the end you pay full price. read more

I've been looking for some new/local places to order from on DoorDash and Uber Eats. I usually do my research and look at a couple reviews if the place is unfamiliar to me. There hasn't been any recent reviews for this place...so I took my chances. Of course I didn't want to spend too much but decided to treat myself with the tenderloin fettuccine. I was excited; it looked and sounded delicious! Unfortunately, I was disappointed... I do take into consideration the fact that the food was delivered and not freshly ordered but it was too much to ignore. First, the onions on the side salad were so potent, that's all you could smell and I can still smell them in my garbage. At least it was packaged separately. I ordered the tenderloin medium rare, understanding the meat would continue to cook as it was delivered, but there was no pink whatsoever and it was dry and burnt tasting. Maybe due to the grill? Not a good excuse for bad food Their Paninis are not panins.. i assume they put the rolls on a grill instead of a panini press. Had very light grill marks and was far from what i know as a panini. Definetly more like a poor quality sub. The Unstuffed pepper soup leaves alot to be desired. The beet and goat cheese salad came with no beets. Just a pile of lettuce and hunk of goat cheese. So some of you might have seen the metamorphsis of this family restaurant on the popular show "Restaurant Impossible." My fiance, Marilynn and I had a Friday night date night at what once was a staple in South Buffalo. Regretably it had fallen on some harrowingly bad times exaserbated by the last years assault by covid. For the record, it was the night following the great reveal on national televsion. We were delighted to see the owner Steve Marchione, working the crowd of appreciative fans. Everyone seemed to be pulling for him and in a true show of support they dealt with the unusually long wait time. Granted they didn't have their acts totally together but the food proved to be well worth the wait. The menue is a fraction of the size of the mamoth one featured by the old Francesca's, and you know what, it works. The lobster gnocci was out of this world. I have to confess I have always found gnocci to be a bit too filling. These were as light as a cloud and delectable. The dressing on the chopped romaine salad suggested that if they bottled it they would really have something as special as those wings the Anchor Bar made so famous a few years ago. I had the veal parmigiano which was served over a bed of roasted brussel sprouts and potatoes. I have never seen veal parmigiano served this way. It was so wrong. It always comes with a side of spaghetti. You could have knocked me over with a spatula. But it was fabulous. The portions are huge and it is affordably priced so you can take the family out for a special meal without having to apply for a second mortgage. They also do pizza and fish frys but we could have gotten that anywhere. I am sure their's are just fine too. I'm looking forward to going there the next time. Our first experience! Warm marinated olives and ricotta fritters were the appetizers for our family of six. More then enough and perfectly prepared. The adults had chicken sausage pasta, chicken parm, spaghetti & meatballs, two ziti supreme. The picky 13 year old in our party ordered chicken fingers and french fries. No one was disappointed. Attended a reception here. We had stuffed chicken, asparagus, mashed potatoes, and a salad served buffet style. I thought the chicken was the best of the food that was laid out. There was a very nice crust on it that made it very tasty. That said, the rest was subpar. The mashed potatoes were dry, the asparagus were limp, and the salad was standard. There seemed to only be one young lady working today, which seemed to be way understaffed for a party of approximately 25 people (including numerous children). She was clearing plates, bringing out food, tending bar, etc. We were in the backroom for the party which was pretty cozy and well decorated. Overall, the place was just old and underwhelming. We ordered the fried lasagna and the tenderloin and fettuccine and both were delicious. The restaurant has a beautiful interior... Inside, a clean, completely renovated, quaint bar/restaurant welcomed me. From the service, to the food, to the prices, I could not have been more impressed. We had a friendly waitress who did not miss a thing. The food was served in a timely manner and, may I add, delicious. I got the spaghetti and meatball (if you need any help deciding what to order).
