We stopped in for the happy hour specials. Food was good. The shoe string fries were not hot. Chicken sandwiches were excellent, as were the thrasher burgers. The service was flawless! Ambiance is that of a bustling speakeasy.

I'd like give this 3.5 stars. It seems that most of the 4-5 star reviews are for happy hour. And I would agree. Great drinks, dark sexy atmosphere and superior bartenders. We had manhattans. Dinner looses a star for being way overpriced and a star for mediocre meat dishes. The brisket sliders were disgusting - great big globs of fat that I would have spit out if not in polite company! The beets were weirdly cinnamony and mushy. The burger was also fatty. The seared halibut was pure heaven, however.

I was in Buffalo for a conference and afterwards my colleagues and I went to this wonderful bar that was recommended to our group. The atmosphere was very friendly from the greeting at the door to the awesome bartending staff. It was happy hour so we ordered some drinks and later some food. While at the bar we got to know Adam S. our bartender. He was a master at making drinks. We watched him stir 2 drinks with one hand, and shake a Shaker with the other. We enjoyed everything we ordered (Brisket sliders, fries, fried pickles and our mixed drinks made to perfection by Adam S.) When we left we took a picture with Adam S. and told him everytime we are in Buffalo we'd come and see him. If I lived in Buffalo Lucky Day would be my regular spot.

Lucky day is one of our favorite date night/special occasion spots. They have lots of seating with intimate lighting and music. They can accommodate larger parties but usually I see smaller groups of 6 or less. The servers are always friendly and there is never a long wait time for food even on busy nights. The staff do a great job to keep the flow moving smoothly. The drinks are some of the best I've ever had-both cocktails and mocktails and the food is superb while offering many gluten free options. We have tried many different menu items and always love everything. Our favorite meal to have here is the chicken dinner -we highly recommend!

I'm a pretty accomplished whisky fan and Lucky Day stands out as one of, if not THE, best whisky bars I have visited. Here's what makes it amazing: 1) Everyone is welcome. Come as you are dressed, whatever your background. I saw a guy in a basketball jersey while a group celebrated nearby in fine attire. 2) all whiskies are celebrated. Solid list of Bourbon, Rye, Irish, Japanese, Scotch and more. And unlike some other places (looking at you Jack Rose, DC) the list is available online and kept up to date. Everything I ordered was available!! 3) great bartenders. Handsomely dressed to set the atmosphere, friendly, mixing great cocktails, and willing to scale the shelves to retrieve pours. 4) local is key - from the familiarity of the clientele, to local distillery features, to live music ... you are in Buffalo in all the best ways. I didn't eat on this occasion, but the food I saw looked good, and most dining tables were full. Highly recommend!

I was so excited to eat here. I'm not sure why my experience didn't match up with the great reviews here. We came on a Wednesday and it was pretty slow. We were seated immediately. I ordered an old fashioned off the featured menu which was great. I also ordered the ribeye and swapped the mashed potatoes for fries. My mom had the lobster tail and 1 scallop and carrots. The steak was rough. It was so hard to cut through. I didn't finish it (maybe ate half) and it just was not good. The fries were just ok but could've been crispier. My mom didn't love her lobster tail and said it was rubbery and just not great. The vibe is super cool and the drinks were great but the splurge of our meal was a little disappointing and not quite worth the price. Must've been an off night or something.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here on a Friday night. While they do take reservations, we didn't have one but lucked out and still got a table with only a little bit of a wait. While we waited, we got drinks from the bar. I ordered the Hartman manhattan which was delicious. Once we were seated, we shared a dozen oysters as an appetizer which were very good. For dinner, I enjoyed the Mac n cheese which was enough to fill me up without having leftovers. The other people I was with ordered the duck risotto and the seafood pasta, which they also really enjoyed. For service, we interacted with the hostess, a bartender, our server, and the manager, and everyone was friendly and provided great service! This is a really great spot for a date or to meet up with friends, and I can't wait to come back again!

Huge selection of whist, plus some beers on tap. Didn't check the menu for wine and other liquor selections. Cocktails are great. For dinner had the duck. I haven't had duck in probably 20 years and the last time would have been at a Chinese restaurant not a breast. I've seen them on the fancy cooking shows and the manager recommended it so i gave it a try. It was delicious, as was the risotto and carrots.

My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary. We made a reservation and had the option of sitting at the bar or being sat down early if possible. We sat down at the bar to see what it was like. They use ambient lighting to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. The drinks and food were delicious. They had a small food menu but such good options to decide. HUGE drink menu, and not only whiskey, but they can make anything there. We would 100% go back.

The ambiance inside this building is just amazing. They did a great job of honoring what was there and creating a very cool bar. The dining booths are also just very well done. If you like that sort of thing like i do the old beams and bricks are everywhere. They added a nice touch by separating the booths with antique carpets. The bar is also very cool but we dined instead of sitting at the bar. As to the food it's in the expensive side but excellent. We had the raw oysters, excellent, a very good mushroom soup and a lobster pasta. This dish had so much lobster and was served with a very nice fish based tomato sauce with crème fraiche so sort of a pink sauce. My only complaint is it was a bit cold and could have used more pasta thrown in but excellent nevertheless. Great service and a ton of drink options from old time whiskey drinks (saserac, whiskey sour etc) nice wine list, beers on tap on and on. Really enjoyed this spot

The food was good. Portions are a tad small but very delicious. The service was good. They were timely and friendly. Overall ambiance is darker but there is lighting throughout the restaurant. The whisk and bourbon list is extensive. Come prepared to try something you've never drank. Enjoy!

I felt like I was sitting in a medieval tavern about to plan an adventure in the little alcoves they have! Vibes were epic. Food was spectacular and mocktail list was really great (as well as the alcoholic menu and whiskey list - they needed full on ladders to reach some of the stuff)! Loved it! Servers were amazing!

Always a treat to the palette and liver. Had the happy hour specials. Warrior burger with fries; wife had fried chicken sandwich with fries. Wish I could eat another - it's that good! Drinks are craft level - try the Manhattan with Bourbon. Servers attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is speak easyish with urban vibes. Great place for dates!

We ventured out into downtown area to grab a drink & hopefully find a spot still serving food. We stumbled across House of Charm while searching online info for something nearby. The exterior is unassuming but easy to spot & the delightful interior was funky, fun & welcoming. Music wasn't insanely loud but was there & the number of interesting "charms" sprinkled throughout the establishment were a total gas. My favorite was the deconstructed Barbie parts displayed on small hooks at the end of the bar. The staff was lovely & came over to greet us in a timely manner. Assured us that they still had a late night menu & then we got to have THE BEST SPICY MARGARITAS EVER!!! The paninis were also yummy & we each got a piece of chocolate & a Dum Dum included on our plates for dessert. But seriously! The spicy margarita! Starting with ambiance.......2 full sized bars with plenty of tv viewing if that is what you are in to while there. The seating area is well lit with natural light and comfortable, well spaced seating. We were greeted by our quiet, yet smiley server, Raymond. He was warm, efficient and also gave us great recommendations (coupled with personal stories as to why they were recommended). We ordered drinks (their craft cocktail menu is one of the best I have seen) and then perused the menu. We went with Raymond's recommendation to order 2 cinnamon rolls for the table (we were leary as many places whose claim to fame for having the "best" cinnamon roll, fall short). We also ordered 2 of the multigrain breakfast sandwiches, a smashburger, Brasserie breakfast sandwich, and the biscuits and gravy (highly recommended by Raymond as well). Everything was OUTSTANDING! Phrases like "seriously the combination of this breakfast sandwich with pancakes as the buns is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had." And, the cinnamon rolls!!! Raymond wasn't lying when he said they were the best. All 5 of us agreed that they were the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had, and lo and behold then had a conversation about what makes a good cinnamon roll - these check ALL of the boxes. We are still talking today about the great atmosphere, service and drinks/food at this establishment. And yes, there may STILL be talk about the cinnamon rolls. Don't sleep on this place!

First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! This was their first time here and admittedly I was happy because they haven't had many pleasant food experiences in Buffalo. I was nervous that we'd either a) be turned away or b) not get the best service since it was so close to the time that they closed. Let me be the first to say that that was not the case at all. We were seated in the most perfect little nook tucked away near the door. Dimly lit but cozy for good vibes and good food. Our server Megan came over and she was truly delightful. She provided really great recommendations. It was the perfect mix of personal reccs, insight on bestsellers, and answers to our mainy questions. We ultimately settled on two pizzas, fried rice, and a buyer (not pictured). The food came out in a timely manner. The drinks were incredible and the service was undeniable. Special shoutout to Megan again for offering a one of a kind experience. Misc: There's a parking lot next door to the building never knew. Prices are a tad steep but the vibes are good.
