We stopped in for the happy hour specials. Food was good. The shoe string fries were not hot. Chicken sandwiches were excellent, as were the thrasher burgers. The service was flawless! Ambiance is that of a bustling speakeasy.

I'd like give this 3.5 stars. It seems that most of the 4-5 star reviews are for happy hour. And I would agree. Great drinks, dark sexy atmosphere and superior bartenders. We had manhattans. Dinner looses a star for being way overpriced and a star for mediocre meat dishes. The brisket sliders were disgusting - great big globs of fat that I would have spit out if not in polite company! The beets were weirdly cinnamony and mushy. The burger was also fatty. The seared halibut was pure heaven, however.

I was in Buffalo for a conference and afterwards my colleagues and I went to this wonderful bar that was recommended to our group. The atmosphere was very friendly from the greeting at the door to the awesome bartending staff. It was happy hour so we ordered some drinks and later some food. While at the bar we got to know Adam S. our bartender. He was a master at making drinks. We watched him stir 2 drinks with one hand, and shake a Shaker with the other. We enjoyed everything we ordered (Brisket sliders, fries, fried pickles and our mixed drinks made to perfection by Adam S.) When we left we took a picture with Adam S. and told him everytime we are in Buffalo we'd come and see him. If I lived in Buffalo Lucky Day would be my regular spot.

Lucky day is one of our favorite date night/special occasion spots. They have lots of seating with intimate lighting and music. They can accommodate larger parties but usually I see smaller groups of 6 or less. The servers are always friendly and there is never a long wait time for food even on busy nights. The staff do a great job to keep the flow moving smoothly. The drinks are some of the best I've ever had-both cocktails and mocktails and the food is superb while offering many gluten free options. We have tried many different menu items and always love everything. Our favorite meal to have here is the chicken dinner -we highly recommend!

I'm a pretty accomplished whisky fan and Lucky Day stands out as one of, if not THE, best whisky bars I have visited. Here's what makes it amazing: 1) Everyone is welcome. Come as you are dressed, whatever your background. I saw a guy in a basketball jersey while a group celebrated nearby in fine attire. 2) all whiskies are celebrated. Solid list of Bourbon, Rye, Irish, Japanese, Scotch and more. And unlike some other places (looking at you Jack Rose, DC) the list is available online and kept up to date. Everything I ordered was available!! 3) great bartenders. Handsomely dressed to set the atmosphere, friendly, mixing great cocktails, and willing to scale the shelves to retrieve pours. 4) local is key - from the familiarity of the clientele, to local distillery features, to live music ... you are in Buffalo in all the best ways. I didn't eat on this occasion, but the food I saw looked good, and most dining tables were full. Highly recommend!

I was so excited to eat here. I'm not sure why my experience didn't match up with the great reviews here. We came on a Wednesday and it was pretty slow. We were seated immediately. I ordered an old fashioned off the featured menu which was great. I also ordered the ribeye and swapped the mashed potatoes for fries. My mom had the lobster tail and 1 scallop and carrots. The steak was rough. It was so hard to cut through. I didn't finish it (maybe ate half) and it just was not good. The fries were just ok but could've been crispier. My mom didn't love her lobster tail and said it was rubbery and just not great. The vibe is super cool and the drinks were great but the splurge of our meal was a little disappointing and not quite worth the price. Must've been an off night or something.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here on a Friday night. While they do take reservations, we didn't have one but lucked out and still got a table with only a little bit of a wait. While we waited, we got drinks from the bar. I ordered the Hartman manhattan which was delicious. Once we were seated, we shared a dozen oysters as an appetizer which were very good. For dinner, I enjoyed the Mac n cheese which was enough to fill me up without having leftovers. The other people I was with ordered the duck risotto and the seafood pasta, which they also really enjoyed. For service, we interacted with the hostess, a bartender, our server, and the manager, and everyone was friendly and provided great service! This is a really great spot for a date or to meet up with friends, and I can't wait to come back again!

Huge selection of whist, plus some beers on tap. Didn't check the menu for wine and other liquor selections. Cocktails are great. For dinner had the duck. I haven't had duck in probably 20 years and the last time would have been at a Chinese restaurant not a breast. I've seen them on the fancy cooking shows and the manager recommended it so i gave it a try. It was delicious, as was the risotto and carrots.

My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary. We made a reservation and had the option of sitting at the bar or being sat down early if possible. We sat down at the bar to see what it was like. They use ambient lighting to create a cozy and romantic atmosphere. The drinks and food were delicious. They had a small food menu but such good options to decide. HUGE drink menu, and not only whiskey, but they can make anything there. We would 100% go back.

The ambiance inside this building is just amazing. They did a great job of honoring what was there and creating a very cool bar. The dining booths are also just very well done. If you like that sort of thing like i do the old beams and bricks are everywhere. They added a nice touch by separating the booths with antique carpets. The bar is also very cool but we dined instead of sitting at the bar. As to the food it's in the expensive side but excellent. We had the raw oysters, excellent, a very good mushroom soup and a lobster pasta. This dish had so much lobster and was served with a very nice fish based tomato sauce with crème fraiche so sort of a pink sauce. My only complaint is it was a bit cold and could have used more pasta thrown in but excellent nevertheless. Great service and a ton of drink options from old time whiskey drinks (saserac, whiskey sour etc) nice wine list, beers on tap on and on. Really enjoyed this spot

The food was good. Portions are a tad small but very delicious. The service was good. They were timely and friendly. Overall ambiance is darker but there is lighting throughout the restaurant. The whisk and bourbon list is extensive. Come prepared to try something you've never drank. Enjoy!

I felt like I was sitting in a medieval tavern about to plan an adventure in the little alcoves they have! Vibes were epic. Food was spectacular and mocktail list was really great (as well as the alcoholic menu and whiskey list - they needed full on ladders to reach some of the stuff)! Loved it! Servers were amazing!

Always a treat to the palette and liver. Had the happy hour specials. Warrior burger with fries; wife had fried chicken sandwich with fries. Wish I could eat another - it's that good! Drinks are craft level - try the Manhattan with Bourbon. Servers attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is speak easyish with urban vibes. Great place for dates!

Lafayette was my favorite location because it was spacious. But Adams Mark was convenient because of its parking lot; even though me and my crew never drive during this lol. There's over 75 different types of liquor. I love whiskey and I'm not committed to one type. So this is the perfect event for people like me. Also, some of the distilleries offer more than just whiskey. There's usually scotch, gin, moonshine, and if you're lucky absenth (just a drop or in a mixed drink). I appreciate the fact that there's plenty of water at these events. The only thing I wish was there were more food/snack options. I've been to many wine tastings in the same venues and there's always cheese, nuts, crackers, and the occasional dip. At the whiskey fest you only have the option of paid food items that are over priced; you'd think there would be more with so much high proof alcohol. I did appreciate the coffee and donuts at the last one, but they were only available at the beginning. By the time you needed it, when you were about an hr into tasting and nearly drunk, snacks were nowhere to be found. I love that the vendors are always nice and knowledgeable. They even offer classes if you want further knowledge on specific topics. I also like that most vendors sell their products, but are very professional about it. Meaning if you really like something you can buy it, but they are not pushing products on you where you feel uncomfortable and inclined to buy. At about $45 for unlimited tasting, I definitely suggest trying it if you enjoy your dark liquors. I also suggest catching an uber/lyft, or having a DD. Oh...and bring snacks

We were in town attending a large national conference for families affected by their condition, and many conference attendees were also staying at the hotel. When we arrived, the restaurant appeared to be about 80% empty. Our children mentioned to the waitress that they were hungry and tired, and the first response we received was, "Do you have a reservation?" She explained that they couldn't seat us because they were expecting a large party. Instead of being seated at a regular table, we were directed to the bar area, where the bartender kindly took care of us despite the fact that our group included two minors. We stayed for over an hour, and during that time, the large party never arrived. Meanwhile, we watched other guests without reservations get seated at tables without any apparent issue. The experience left us feeling singled out and, ultimately, discriminated against. Whether that was the intention or not, it reflected a disappointing lack of empathy and inclusion--especially considering that so many families with children with disabilities were staying at the hotel for the conference. I'm giving Bella Ciao three stars because the food was decent, the portions were generous, and the bartender provided good service. Unfortunately, the way we were treated upon arrival overshadowed what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.
