It's a holiday so it's not very busy but they took a good amount of time to notice us at the door to seat us. We were looking forward to a brunch place but was disappointed because we didn't have a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. So we walked across the street to Casa Don Juan which looked very welcoming. And we were most definitely welcomed very warmly and were promptly seated. Our server, Juan, was absolutely attentive and delightful.When I asked if they can make me an aperol spritz, he said he'd ask the bartender. We saw him and the bartender consult a book. And then he returned with a very good aperol spritz. Very extensive menu. We had a choice of filleted or whole fish, and opted for the whole fish. It was beautifully cooked and very well seasoned. I preferred some kind of vegetables as a side dish instead of beans and rice so I asked for pico de gallo. Wish I had asked for a bigger serving of that! Also had a chicken fajita which arrived sizzling. It wasn't a huge serving, so there were no left overs. Came in for brunch on a Sunday and we were immediately seated. Lively place with traditional Mexican dishes. It wasn't too busy so we got our food pretty fast. It got busier later and service went downhill. The waitress tried her best so I'll give her a pass. I opted for their chile rojo which wasn't spicy. Good flavors though. Can't beat the homemade tortillas. My wife had steak and eggs which were good. Good sized steak for the price. We all loved their beans. My kids shared cheese enchiladas and a wet chicken burrito. Hungover in Vegas? You surely won't be alone. Located in the heart of the Art District this place is a great way to recover from your night out with a little hair of the dog and some hot sauce. Huevos con Chorizo and a little Mimosa is the way to go in my book. They have a simple but well excecuted breakfast menu featuring all of the classics. Service was great. There was a bit of a wait however you're in a perfect neighborhood to take a stroll and visit some of the coolest antique stores you'll ever find all on the same block while you wait for a table. We've walked past this place so many times because it always smells amazing and always seems packed, so we finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, while the food was decent, nothing really stood out to me. What caught us off guard was how the add-ons were presented. After we sat down, our server asked if we wanted chips and guacamole, and we said yes since it felt like a pretty standard starter at a Mexican restaurant. We didn't mind paying extra, but we were surprised when the bill came and the guacamole alone was $10.99. The portion was also much smaller than we expected--about the amount you'd get at Chipotle for a fraction of the price. Overall, the food was fine, but the experience left us feeling a little disappointed. Food is average. We were in the Arts District and needed to get a bite for dinner. Saturday evening and this block was poppin. Most places were a 30+ min standby wait but with Casa Don Juan, it was less than 10 min. Service was attentive. We were sat outside and I was afraid we were gonna get ignored but our waiter came by several times throughout dinner to make sure we got everything we need. Chips, salsa and bean dip were complimentary. The bean dip was a pleasant surprise. I read it's only free for the first round. You MAY pay for a second round of chips & salsa. My husband and I both ordered the tamale and enchilada plate combo. The enchilada was scrawny!!!!! I've been to other local Mexican restaurants and their enchiladas are hefty and full. The tamale, however, was thick but lacked flavor. Needed to drench salsa on it but was afraid I'd get charged if I ask for another side of their house salsa. The customer service was amazing and the whole place had really good vibes. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We came for Father's Day and hubs had the Pozole before the heat kicked in. Kiki was our waiter and made sure we were welcomed. He has such an electric personality which is a good thing. They have a section dedicated to Frida Kahlo with a bunch of her pictures. Super tasty Carnitas with freshly made guac and tortillas. Four stars vs. five because it's a bit pricey. read more

I'm completely serious when I say this was the best flavor, service, pricing, and atmosphere of all the breakfasts I had in Las Vegas. Vegas is an expensive place to visit, but Casa Don Juan is not. (For those who know SoCo of yesteryear in Austin, Texas- that's what the Arts District is like--small shops selling vintage clothing, art, and other quirky items). Every single time I come to Vegas, I have to come here. The prices are incredible. The food is delicious. The margaritas are excellent. And of course, the service is always great as well. I have been to this establishment no less than 40 times over the years. This is why this review is so upsetting to write. I have as well called no less than 8 times over weeks asking for a conversation with the manager and have been told to call back tomorrow morning. To make it simple and sweet I was not only overcharged for something I was double-charged for the overcharge because of the waiter's mistake. Multiple food items were incorrectly inputted so two of the four meals were inputted inaccurately. Items that were asked to be removed were in there and different items were removed from the dish so two people weren't super happy with their meal at all. There were so many topics prior to receiving the food that we just didn't want to ask anything else because it just was so confusing. I was absolutely Furious about getting charged nearly $40 for something that was supposed to be $9 because a far more expensive item was wrong in for an alcoholic drink and then the waiter brought two of them instead of bringing the second different alcoholic drink that had been purchased and asked if we wanted to keep the two items and I said I do not want to pay for those two items so if you are leaving the mistake one for free go for it but definitely do not charge me for that because we don't even want it and he said I'm just going to leave it I'm just going to leave it I said make sure you don't charge me for it I don't want it and again he said she'll drink them it's okay I'll leave it. Then when I get the bill I find out he charged me for a drink twice as expensive and then charge me for two of them. I very politely asked and it seemed like he wasn't even capable of having the conversation unless I wanted to make a big deal and ask for the manager and I wasn't going to do that because I was with two children that I didn't want to embarrass. One of which had asked for no Jalapenos in there nachos and instead they got jalapenos and no pico de gallo. She was not happy but she also is someone that doesn't like to complain. And then my other daughter's dish also had something wrong with it. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Casa Don Juan. We had eaten there before and returned to meet friends. During that time, we briefly left the lot and came back, expecting to dine there again--but our vehicle had already been towed. The speed at which it happened was shocking, and the whole situation felt overly aggressive and customer-unfriendly. Whether you're a regular customer or planning to eat there, be very careful about parking and make sure you fully understand their parking policy before leaving your vehicle for any reason. First time eating here. Once we were seated our order was taken approximately 10 min later. Chips and salsa were delivered shortly after. We ordered a single fajita plate. After waiting approximately 1 hour, I informed our waiter Marvin (nice guy) that I'd like the check for the drinks and guacamole and that we were leaving. About 5 min later some lukewarm warm meat on a hot fajita plater came out with cold rice and beans. We had maybe a few pieces of meat and left most of it on the plate. Just landed in Vegas and my husband wanted Mexican food. We decided to try this place because the reviews looked decent and I saw a ton of Frida Kahlo pictures and she is my favorite artist. The restaurant did not disappoint although I was a little sad I couldn't sit in the Frida Kahlo room as they had to closed to dinners but they did allow us to go in and check it out and it was amazing. Had dinner here last week. This restaurant is located on Main street in the Arts District. Love their beautiful murals on the outside. They have outdoor and indoor seating and a cool vibrant decor. The service was outstanding, very friendly and prompt. The food overall was good, the shrimp tostadas made with an extraordinary amount of shrimp, very generous, the burritos were also very good. The margaritas were decent, and a good pour. Only drawback is if you're seating outside they did have a flies problem unfortunately which made it quite unpleasant. Ask for no salt on one and it came with salt. The second one had no hint of alcohol in it. When we asked the manager, he said this is the way it's always been and no one has ever complained. He said he would bring us some more tequila. That never arrived. When asked to get a new margarita with alcohol in it, he said he wouldn't do that because no one's ever complained. We said what about the customer always being right? He said that doesn't always apply. He would not take the drink off the bill and would not give us the drink back.
