A trip to the arts district and enjoyed some chalk art which directed our journey to Casa Don Juan. They conveniently open early for those early birds that want to beat the crowd. A fine day to browse and have endless talks that mean nothing to others but ourselves.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]An open door casa is a welcoming home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Like an open cook book. This is a casa she shares her story alongside her wall of Memento images. With many chapters menu selections to go along with her chapters. Never underestimate a woman who lived in the casa of Don Juan

    #2 TAMALE AND ENCHILADA

Food is average. We were in the Arts District and needed to get a bite for dinner. Saturday evening and this block was poppin. Most places were a 30+ min standby wait but with Casa Don Juan, it was less than 10 min. Service was attentive. We were sat outside and I was afraid we were gonna get ignored but our waiter came by several times throughout dinner to make sure we got everything we need. Chips, salsa and bean dip were complimentary. The bean dip was a pleasant surprise. I read it's only free for the first round. You MAY pay for a second round of chips & salsa. My husband and I both ordered the tamale and enchilada plate combo. The enchilada was scrawny!!!!! I've been to other local Mexican restaurants and their enchiladas are hefty and full. The tamale, however, was thick but lacked flavor. Needed to drench salsa on it but was afraid I'd get charged if I ask for another side of their house salsa. Coming here served its purpose...we left full and the prices were reasonable in today's economy but as locals, we would not go out of our way to specifically come here.

My first meal at this place and it did not disappoint. Everything was super tasty. Service was great. And paced out nicely. I was just visiting but I will go again next time I'm in Las Vegas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also clean restrooms - always a plus after arriving to your destination.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place was so good! Everything tasted authentic and the salsas were absolutely banging. You can tell they really care about the food and the flavors. The customer service was amazing and the whole place had really good vibes. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the huevos divorciados and honestly... I tore that plate up so fast I didn't even get a picture . It was that good! And the homemade flour tortillas were sooo good, fresh, soft, and the perfect addition to the meal. If you're in Vegas and want authentic Mexican food with great service and flavor, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

Went out for a delightful birthday lunch with friends and had a charming time. Our server Juan was outstanding and very personable. Chips and salsa were fresh as well as the guacamole, so tasty! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat outside as the weather was amazing, food was delicious too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had enchiladas and chicken fajitas! The corn tortillas were so fresh, they fell apart but still good! Yuummmy! Will definitely be back! For your birthday you get a free shot which was so tasty even mom had one!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm completely serious when I say this was the best flavor, service, pricing, and atmosphere of all the breakfasts I had in Las Vegas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Vegas is an expensive place to visit, but Casa Don Juan is not. They had a great breakfast special and a friendly staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Additionally, this place is in the arts district which feels like a different, quaint version of Las Vegas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (For those who know SoCo of yesteryear in Austin, Texas- that's what the Arts District is like--small shops selling vintage clothing, art, and other quirky items). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved that they had outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was flavorful and the salsa was deliciosos! Stop by Casa Don Juan and enjoy the Arts District as well.

QUESO!!! They have QUESO!!! As a person from the Midwest, it was a given to have a line up of salsa, queso, and chips at any Mexican restaurant. When I moved to Vegas, I had no idea it was going to be so difficult to find queso on the menu. 2 years later, I finally discovered Casa Don Juan. Their margaritas were incredible. The queso was everything I needed and more. The restaurant was clean and staff were on point. I wasn't super impressed with the flautas, but my friends meals look great. I'll happily explore the rest of the menu while snacking on chips and queso.

We went here for dinner based off of my parents recommendations and the food was delicious. I had a simple combination plate with a cheese quesadilla and a crunchy taco and it did not disappoint. My husband had the tamales and wasn't too impressed on those but everybody else enjoyed their food. The waiter was nice and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved how the inside felt like an authentic Mexican restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We would definitely be going back the next time we go down to the area.

I tried the lime margarita, also excellent, and we couldn't leave without trying the churros for dessert. The ambience is lovely, with gorgeous decor, comfortable booths, and an excellent Hispanic music playlist. This is our new favorite Mexican restaurant. I really like the interior decor which is like a very contemporary and upscale Mexican. They have a variety of table and booth seating and a large bar. Our server, Hunter, was very friendly and attentive. He always ended every interaction with "have fun!" I tried the "el corazon" sangria which was delicious! It had a wonderful, warm flavor with a light hint of cinnamon yet it was still cold and refreshing! A cool tip - each drink comes with a little card with a symbol on it and the drink ingredients. Save this card! At each table is a game board of sorts that offers various prizes as you match the cards on the game board sort of like bingo. We really enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa, and we tried the traditional guacamole with vegetables as well. The guacamole was wonderfully cool and creamy and flavorful. For my entree, I tried the chicken fajitas which is served on a steaming platter with various accompaniments. This was also very delicious, and the chicken was quite flavorful and juicy. A small side note - it was served with a cous cous of sort, but I think I would've preferred a simple Spanish rice. The chicken portion size also seemed a bit smaller than when we get fajitas at Chili's. I would recommend you get double meat if you want to share. We decided to try the chocolate flan and the fried ice cream sundae for dessert. I preferred the flavor of the flan and the unique textures of the flan which had the jiggly caramel flan part on top of a more cake like chocolate part below. I honestly think the fried ice cream was not too good. It did not taste freshly fried, and the coating was very dry and brittle and hard to eat. I prefer the places that serve the fried ice cream warm with a very bubbly crust that is both crunchy outside and a bit soft inside. This was not that. Overall, though, we really enjoyed the dining experience here! We will probably return and try their weekday "Fajitas and Ritas" special! I recommend Hola!

It was honestly some of the blandest Mexican food I've had, and nothing we ordered really stood out. It also felt a bit like a tourist trap. A simple frozen margarita was around $20, and the menu seemed pretty limited. I've since heard they're mostly known for their giant tortas, so maybe that's what they're best at.
