Oh my goodness! This was the best menudo I've ever had. The service was great, and the menudo meat was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. It was incredibly flavorful. The salsa definitely tasted homemade, and I have to admit, I ate two servings of the chips because they were that good. The restaurant was also very clean, artistic, and absolutely beautiful inside. I loved the Indigenous Mexican artwork and the overall atmosphere. The food was marvelous, and I highly recommend this place. read more

Went there around 2pm as we were there shopping. .there may have been 4 tables n 2 people at the bar. My son and I sat ourselves down at the bar area. There was only 1 waiter, who after some time brought us chips n salsa. The bartender at the bar was just chatting with the 2 girls n then a boy walked n she was flirting with him. Never acknowledged us or anything . We placed our orders. I got 1 fish n 1 shrimp taco. Son got a chicken taco n chicken burrito. We also Ordered margaritas . Food came before the drink coz the chic at the bar was busy flirting with the dude. I asked the waiter if our drinks are not coming I will cancel it. He tried to explain that one table got samples of drinks so takes time ... naaaa that bartender is slow AF n her attention is on the dude. A good bartender won't take forever to make drinks when there are barely 4 tables n only 2 ordered drinks. Wish I didn't have to tip her anything . I didn't want the waiter to feel I didn't appreciate the him. The bartender shouldn't get shit . You get tips wen u deliver . Located in Delta Shores, in the same vicinity as the furniture store. You might miss it if you dont do a Yelp check of restaurants in the area. This is actually a nice mexican restaurant that has a large dining for groups. And also has a nice bar with tvs so you can watch a game. We came in on a Sunday and it wasn't too busy which I prefer. Restaurant is modern and clean. Staff was very friendly and was good at following up on seeing if we needed anything. Food was good. I got the steak fajitas (listen to video for the sizzle) And my husband got the steak burrito. The only suggestion I have is to season the meat a bit more with salt or seasoning. The food? So good! I loved the three item plate because t allowed me to try a variety of items. I had a chimichanga with chile verde (guacamole sour cream on the side) it was perfectly fried and not dry inside the meat was good but it could've used some extra chile verde salsa inside. The chicken flautas were as expected and crunchy. The green chicken enchilada was my favorite! That green salsa is so flavorful it's actually the salsa we paid and asked for on the side. Margarita flight was good too. It's very nicely decorated but not over done. Our waiter was nice but we did have a lil bump in the road and he kept disappearing on us and did have us waiting a while. An older review that I am late to posting. Came for my cousin's 16th birthday dinner on April 18th. It was a lot of us (easily over 20 people), but we were able to be accommodated to my surprise! Service was great! Albeit a bit slow - I can imagine how overwhelming it must be for the front and back of house staff to service us on top of the customers already dining - but the staff were very patient and friendly! The food eventually came out, and it was delicious! I ordered the carne asada quesadilla which came with rice, beans, and a small salad. Plus they leave bay leaves in their meat and I told the server about it. I can understand why some folks may not like the food here. While the complimentary salsa was plenty spicy, none of the other food was. Some food ate a little blander, but I still found it enjoyable overall. And, the prices were reasonable as well. - pork tamale: this came smothered in sauce and was quite tasty. One end was kinda dry, but otherwise, it was pretty solid. - chile Colorado chimichanga: the fry on this was great lightly crispy on the outside without being greasy. The beef was nice enough; though, I'm used to chile Colorado being a little more saucy. - chile verde chimichanga: this was pretty good; though, it would've been nice if there was some spice and a bit more salt. - chicken enchilada: good stuff. The chicken is a marinated shredded chicken. Nice flavor. - asada quesadilla: the cheese was nice and stretchy, but there was an unpleasant amount of grease dripping out of this. The asada was dry and had too much salt. I thought everything was worth ordering again except the quesadilla. Perhaps, I'd try the quesadilla with a different meat, or maybe I just happened to have old asada. Unlike some other places, I didn't leave feeling yucky. First time visiting Casa Flores and I had the worst experience. I ordered the green enchilada plate and the beans had a hair, I approach the server as soon as I noticed the situation she took it back and came back no more than 5 minutes with a new plate which let me know they did not remake the plate. They just placed more cheese on the beans. Then she proceeded to say they remade the plate but the food was cold. then said they were unable to take the plate off my tab, had to ask for a manager for her to remove it. We live in Stockton and absolutely love Costa Flores, we go all the time... We happen to be in Sacramento for a shopping trip and saw that they had a cost of Laura as close by. This is a very cozy location and the staff are super attentive and very kind. The food was excellent, the salsa and chips alone were worth the visit. We also got their house made guacamole, which was extremely yummy. My daughter got a kids combo plate, which was very filling and had more than enough for her to eat. Both my husband and I got the two item combos and were so full. We could hardly finish. We were very pleased with our visit and the wonderful environment. This place has apparently been around for almost a year, but due to the location being in the "back alley" of Delta Shores, we only noticed it a few days ago. I'm glad I did, as Casa Flores is a fantastic little Mexican bar and restaurant with great entrees, drinks, and desserts. One of the highlights of Casa Flores for my party and I was clear: the proteins. All the beef and shrimp was cooked well and seasoned well, with savory rice and balanced refried beans. The chile colorado was a stand out with its delicious gravy. They brought a healthy amount of tortillas (corn or flour) for us to use with our various meals, and the chips and salsa were fresh and surprisingly spicy! My wife loved her asada burrito bowl, which was a stark contrast (in the best way) to the Chipotle down the road. The signature cocktail menu was fairly limited to your standard Mexican fare, but that didn't stop the tropical marg from tasting like a tropical jolly ranger (and i mean that as a compliment). A friend ordered a mojito, which wasn't on the menu, so it's nice to know their bar is fully stocked for other drinks. The two desserts we tried, the flan and the churro donut, were both very good and not too terribly sweet. Our server Lex mentioned that while the donut included optional sauce, it wasn't needed. She was right! The flan is some of the best I've had compared to what I eat at family events, and I don't say that lightly (my aunt would have words with me if I did). The chairs are comfortable, we get it. The staff are friendly and accommodating of pickier eaters. I found the decor to be clean, manicured, and modern. Beautiful art on the walls as well. Offerings: - Carne Asada: Anything with carne asada will be good. The meat will shine through. - Shrimp Tostada: I was severely disappointed in this dish. It was like someone took a cheap bottle of cocktail sauce, drenched some good quality shrimp in it and served it on a tostada. It was cheap on the happy hour menu, but I would definitely skip. - Salsa: The salsa and chips are good. Nothing spectacular but addicting as always. - Green enchilada: Also good but not memorable. After running errands all day why would I want to drive back and wait again ..... next time they need to check every orders pick to see that everything is good to go before someone packages to go for the customer to pick up. A couple of friends and I stopped by Casa Flores yesterday after a 6-mile hike--we were starving and hoping for some good Mexican food. We arrived in the late afternoon/early evening and ended up being there during happy hour, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant wasn't busy, so we were seated right away. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we appreciated being able to separate our checks. Their happy hour deals were pretty solid--about 50% off dips, special prices for margaritas, and even some soup flights. Lots of menu options, too. My friends enjoyed their meals. One ordered two birria tacos and a small chimichanga that she turned into her own 3-item combination, plus a cocktail. Another went with a steak burrito bowl. I ordered a two-item combo with a crunchy chicken taco and a pork tamale with green sauce. While the presentation was great and the timing was impressive--everything came out within five minutes--my plate fell short. The refried beans were extremely bland and watery, and I had to add salt and salsa just to get some flavor. The "crunchy" taco lacked crunch and hardly had any chicken with iceberg lettuce. I ended up adding tomato and salsa, and borrowing sour cream from my friend's plate because our server explained that the listed sour cream and guacamole only come with certain items, which wasn't clear on the menu. The tamale was decent in size, and the green sauce was actually very tasty, definitely the highlight of my plate. The rice also had good flavor. The chips and salsa are unlimited, and while the salsa (pico-style) was flavorful, the chips tasted more store-bought than house-made. Overall, I'd call my experience mediocre. My friends were happy with their dishes, so maybe I just didn't choose the right combo. I'd be willing to give Casa Flores another shot if I'm in the area again--especially after another long hike--but based on my plate alone, it didn't quite hit the mark this time. read more

Ordering delivery should not differ from ordering there other than the obvious which is that it will be packaged and may possibly be not so warm because it traveled to get to you. My feeling is that a restaurant should be consistent whether they are serving you there or not. My shrimp fajitas were good but not fantastic and I say this because the shrimp were a little chewy indicating to me they were overcooked. The veggies and sauce helped the shrimp a little on taste but not on texture. The onions were caramelized beautifully and the peppers were fresh and cooked nicely. Unfortunately they disappointed me by putting my beans and rice together in one of the little sections of the togo container. I don't want them sharing space i want a good serving side of each. Additionally, putting a chunk of cheese, it wasn't even shredded, on my beans then microwaving it just turns it into a greasy mess. They also put the guacamole and sour cream together. I get that they want to fit it all in one container, wait, no I don't! This is a newer restaurant located in the Delta Shores shopping center. Keep in mind this is a Mexican restaurant and not Taqueria which means experience is going to be different as well. This reminded me more of a Tex-Mex versus authentic Mexican food. It's all table service and by default you receive chips and a decent freshly made salsa. I do have to give this place credit for the ambience as it wasn't as loud as you would expect a bar to be. It's very intimate and the lighting set quite the romantic mood. My wife ordered the Quesa Berria plate. This is her go to order every Mexican spot we go to and she rated her dinner about three out of five stars. The beans and rice tasted a bit bland and didn't compliment the main course well. I had Camarones à la Diabla which was also about a three out of five. The texture of the sauce reminded me of cocktail sauce from a jar with some added chili for spice. Wasn't really impressed, but also not fully disappointed. Casa Flores at Delta Shores has a lot of potential, but our experience was a mix of highs and lows. When we first walked in around 2 PM on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant wasn't too busy, yet there was no host at the front. Despite two employees passing by us, we were not greeted or acknowledged for nearly four minutes before we were finally seated and had our drink orders taken. While our waters arrived in a timely manner, the bar service was extremely slow--my boyfriend didn't get his cocktail until after he had finished eating, and I was already halfway through my meal by the time mine arrived. If this was due to being understaffed, I would have appreciated to be let known, communication is key. That said, the staff was very friendly and attentive once we were seated, which made up for the initial wait. As for the food, it had its hits and misses. My boyfriend's Birria tacos were decent but not amazing, earning a 3/5 from him. However, my shrimp bowl (which had pinto beans, onions, cheese, lettuce, shrimp, and salsa) was incredibly flavorful and a solid 5/5 especially since every bite had a piece of shrimp, usually some places barely add any shrimp. I really wanted to ask if they had Tabasco, but I had already made a big dent by the time they came back to check on us. Luckily as I mentioned, it was good enough as is. One downside was spotting an ant crawling on our table, which was a little concerning since we weren't near any windows or doors. It wasn't a huge issue, but definitely something they should keep an eye on. The ambience was one of the highlights--warm lighting, fun signs throughout, a well-stocked bar, and plenty of seating. Plus, parking is easy thanks to their large lot. Overall, if I could rate it 3.5 stars, I would. The slow service and small cleanliness concern slightly brought down the experience, but the friendly staff, inviting atmosphere, and good food (especially the shrimp bowl!) kept it from being a bad visit. Since service plays a big role in the dining experience, I'm rounding it down to 3/5 stars--if they can improve upon this, this could easily be a four-star spot. The two other adults in our party ordered a super burrito, which he enjoyed. The other ordered the enchilada plate and said she didn't like the flavor but I didn't have it and can't speak to that. I loved the decor and friendly services. Nicely lit and nice music. My only complaint was that the sever took payment without providing a printout which led me to double tip (my fault as I knew tip would be auto added due to our party size). I asked the server that night and she said it would be corrected at the end of the night but it hadn't and it led me to call twice to have the charge reversed by the manager. Bar seating seems like it would be a great place to have a happy hour and chill! I love that happy hour also applies if seated in the dining room as well which is a bonus. I had the quesadilla with beef birria and was blown away with this dish.The birria had a deep rich flavor and the portion was very generous. My guilty pleasure was unexpected though. We saw an item on the menu described as "gravy and cheese" to be eaten as a dip with tortilla chips. So we decided to try it. Ummmm what in the cheesy is this addictive dip?!?! We believe that all of the meat is cooked bland in large batches and then added to a sauce or dish to create the menu item. While the meat was all incredibly tender, there is absolutely no flavor. I asked if they had carnitas and was told they did even though there was no mention of it on the menu. Pssssst, they don't have carnitas no matter what they tell you. They have pork that they use in all of the dishes and simply call it carnitas. My birria was beef with a tasteless sauce. The beef was not cooked in any sauce and had no seasoning whatsoever. It is the worst version of birria I have ever had. My husband's chili verde was the same "carnitas" pork with a verde sauce. Yes, it was green and that's where it ends. The only complaint my friend had was the amount of fat that was on her pork. She couldn't really eat it. My Steak Fajitas didn't come with any tortillas which I thought was weird. Every restaurant that I've been to gives you those. You also have to pay extra for refills of chips and salsa. We did have to wait a while for our food, but that gave us more time to talk. Came on a Thursday night, plenty of empty tables but took a good 7-10 minutes before our server got to us. Let me note that she was really sweet. We gave our drink and food order at the same time and our food arrived first. We had the shrimp enchiladas and grilled tilapia, both were tasty but portion was small for the price. Finally tried them out after they opened late last year. I've been to a few other Casa Flores locations in Lodi and Stockton so I sort of knew what to expect in terms of flavor and quality. The food was pretty much similar to other locations. Service wasn't bad. The interior looks more upscale and some of the prices were a little higher but not too high. I will say the only negative thing I didn't like seeing on the menu was that they charge $2.50 for every additional basket of chips and salsa. Apparently you only get 1 complimentary basket for free then they'll charge you after that if you want more. Seemed kind of unnecessary since almost every other Mexican restaurant provides unlimited amounts of chips and salsa with no additional charges whatsoever. I'll probably be back one day since it's much closer than going down to Lodi or Stockton. I just think for how cheap chips and salsa are to make and that every other restaurant doesn't charge for extra servings, it feels a little greedy. read more

Casa Flores is tucked in the corner of Delta Shores near Walmart, on the side where there's almost no traffic. It's one of those places you have to hear about to visit, and when you do, you discover an amazing gem. I went with a group, and we all ordered different items from the menu and shared a Tropical-Rita Tower--so the party was going, even though there weren't many people inside on that Tuesday afternoon. There are plenty of seats, a large bar, and beautiful lighting coming in through the windows. Our server was fantastic--very helpful with answering questions, making conversation, and making sure everything came out promptly. It was my friend's birthday, and they even brought her a complimentary dessert! I had the birria quesadilla, and it was extremely flavorful--packed with meat and cheese. You can't get too fancy with a quesadilla, but this was one of the best I've had. The other dishes looked just as appetizing, and my friends seemed to really enjoy theirs too. A great new Mexican food spot--definitely a welcome addition to Delta Shores! read more
