It really saddens me to write this, because my husband and I come here all the time and this is one of his favorite places to eat. Yesterday around noon I picked up a large order of rice and beans for a family party I was having at 1:00. Long story short, my entire party got food poisoning. I'm talking, my daughter threw up mid party and my family were up all night with diarrhea. Left overs had to be tossed because they smelled sour. I returned to the restaurant today and explained how my entire family got sick. The woman in the front told me all food was made fresh for my party. She said maybe the food spoiled being out in the heat. All food was kept indoors in air conditioning. She kept repeating the food was made fresh and "I don't know what you want me to do." My husband was annoyed by the whole situation and said let's just go. I think it's fair to be reimbursed for all food costs or even half. $80 for beans and $80 for rice. Wow! We enjoyed a delicious all you can eat brunch for my Hubby's birthday. Service and food is great. I chose this place since my Husband loves Mexican food. Whaat better than to have an all you can eat. To our surprise it was delicious and such an enjoyable experience. Made to order: chilaquiles, eggs, pancakes, omelettes and freshly heated tortillas of your choice. The bottomless mimosas were quickly refilled and service was excellent. The food looked like it had been sitting awhile. I felt like the food could of been hotter (cooked hot). It was like warm temperature. The tortillas and the fruit were fresh. So, I went to Roberta's Saturday buffet. The food was *amazing* - seriously, so fresh and delicious! I wasn't expecting that. However, the bill was a bit of a shock. It came to $76.17 for two of us, but I later saw online that the buffet is only $28.88 per person. That's quite a difference! To be fair, I left a cash tip because most of the staff were super friendly and helpful - one lady went above and beyond! But there was one guy who completely ignored me twice when I asked for tortillas. It was a bit frustrating, especially after such a great meal. That one experience really soured the whole thing, unfortunately. Because of that, and the price discrepancy, I'm not sure I'll be going back or recommending it. My husband and I have historically enjoyed Roberta's, but our last two visits have been disappointing. On both occasions, the service was subpar. Our waiter was discourteous, avoided eye contact, and dismissed our concerns regarding the stale salsa. He also took my order incorrectly and it was til the end of our meal when another guy came to ask if we were needing anything else. Furthermore, the food quality has declined. For only $30 you get bottomless mimosas, fresh tortillas, an omelette/chilequilles station, and the best buffet I have ever had. We got there around 10 am and everything tasted so fresh! They had lots to offer including soups (abondigas, menudo, and pesole), birria tacos, ceviche, enchiladas, tacos de papas, nopales y eggs and so much more. They also have American breakfast items like pancakes, sausage and bacon. The employees were so friendly, informative and prompt! The restaurant is very clean. You walk in and the buffet area is in another room, separate to the restaurant. I kind of didn't want to make this review, because I wanted to gatekeep so it didn't get too busy when I come in next, but honestly everyone should give this place a try! I loved the variety. I felt it had most of the popular dishes available. The menudo was good, the side dishes were good also and my husband did the fresh omelette made right in front of you. The Birria de Chivo is delicious, very tasty by itself, no salsa is needed, unless you want spicy. The green and red sauce are a great addition to any plate. Just came back from a resort in Mexico and the food was extremely disappointing, so I had to come get my fix for some good Mexican food. I saw a few TikTok's about their brunch buffet and I was blown away by the food!!!! The birria had so much flavor, the rice and beans were delicious. I love their hand made tortillas. The best thing was their chilaquiles, I didn't get his name but one of the servers/cooks came over and offered them to us. Our server was a bit inattentive and food did not come out all at once so some folks in our party had to wait. Nachos and Torta were good but the fajitas lacked meat for the price you pay. A nice home style Mexican restaurant right in the neighborhood. They have a fairly large menu. I am very fond of their frijoles con queso. There are dishes from the land and sea.. You can order tortillas that are nicer than those in the grocery store. They have indoor and patio seating. Stop by and have a bite. read more
