I was out here a few weeks ago and this place was entertaining. The staff is off the bat extremely nice and well mannered. We were seated quickly and served just as fast! We originally planned to go here as a night spot but we were surprised to see that they were closed at 9:30pm....mainly because their closing time said they closed later, oh well. If you're looking for a little weekend getaway I would say this should be set for day plans, I can't imagine this being a night thing if they close so early. I spent a few days in Rosarito and looked forward to a drive to Valle de Guadalupe. There weren't too many places open for dinner but Frida's had quite a bit of action so we pulled in not knowing what to expect. The colors are breathtakingly beautiful and vibrant. We walk up to a host and told her we'd like to have dinner, she tells us that there are basically 3 spots to choose from, one specializing in seafood, one basically appetizers and the other tequila tasting. We opted for the seafood and she directed us toward the area. We sat in an open area patio. I ordered a frida margarita which was delicious. The waiter put these crispy tortillas on our table that were not greasy, they were baked and delicious. They also had this deep red salsa which was spicy but delicious to dab on our crispy tortillas. We then ordered the tortilla soup which was good, not the best but good. We then ordered their surf and turf and even though it was only 5:30 6 pm they were out of the rib eye so we got the flank steak instead with a lobster tail. The flank steak was amazingly juicy tender and flavorful, not my usual experience of flank steak and the lobster tail was good, not amazing but good. We left with quite as bit of food in a doggy bag and we might go back to Frida's but not necessarily. read more

If you love Frida, this place is it! I went on a Monday. The place opens up at noon. The food was superb! My fave was the negro aguachiles. The Sangria was elite. The guava margarita was good but I was left with wanting to try the Serrano margarita. I did buy a bottle of the red wine. I forget the name of it but they let us sample it while we ate. I went with my kids so the restaurant is the only area we were allowed at. Going to the restroom was a whole photo shoot in itself. That's where the Frida sign is at and the golden wings. The bathrooms are very cute and clean. I am looking forward to going back again! read more

If you enjoy tequila & wine tasting this is the place! When you first arrive, it doesn't look like much until you go inside.The decor and art is stunning! I was wowed! It's definitely very hipster, so dress for the occasion especially if you enjoy selfies. Restrooms are beautiful. Wine and tequila tasting are on the main floor. The workers are very welcoming and have great knowledge of their product. Upstairs is a cocktail bar with seating, if you have small children I do not recommend taking them up there it's not safe- the walls have holes and they can easily fit and fall through. Very scary. We had such a Great time at this winery. Would definitely come back. The art & decor is unique. It has a cool vibe . The drinks were Great I had Sangria @ Novio had a mojito not watered down at all. The food was Excellent . We had spicy shrimp with Grilled Octopus & the like a scallop potato was delicious. They also had a Dj there that was playing really good music. I didn't want to leave. I am giving it only 4 stars because I did not have a full experience. We did not try the food nor walk all of the venue since we were short on time. With that being said we did go to the deck called laguna for some drinks, margarita flight, and a dessert for the kids. After that we walked through a path called secreto which led to another seating area and shop. The drinks were so good and the whole area was beautiful. You have a dj and other areas for dancing. This review is solely on decor and vibe! It is stunning!! We only stopped here for about twenty minutes and didn't get a chance to try any food or drinks. But this place is absolutely beautiful. It is an amazing place to stop by at night since the decor and vibe is perfect for a night scene with lighting that compliments the space. We stopped here on our way out since it's open a bit later than some of the other wineries in the area. The tasing room downstairs has lots of Frida art, inspired decor, and loads of seating. We walked though the space in awe even appreciating the beautiful flower wall in the bathroom. After gawking at the tasting room we walked up the stairs to the rooftop and the amazement continued. It was a bit chilly but the photos just can't do it justice. We only stopped for a bit but we can't wait to visit soon and taste their drinks and wine. read more

Visited on a Friday, no reservation yet fairly empty so no problem. Had drinks at bar patio. Our server was somewhat pleasant. We had a drink bill came and they seriously added a 50% tip for each drink. ($8, $4 tip). Didn't bother mentioning it. This is important to know since the reservas we made at casa frida for tequila tasting (amazing by the way) meant nothing at the other places. They all work separately. Casa frida doesn't have food, so we ate at another spot on location. Super good. We then went for an amazing flight at place next door to casa frida! Good presentation too. Casa Frida has tequila tastings that are on point for the presentation and the tequila itself. The staff bring each of the tequilas one at a time so you can taste and chill. The room is like an art studio so as you chill, you can go look at paintings. It was one of the best tastings experiences I have ever had. read more

This review is only for their "Asadero" eating area. I did not order any wine or tequila at their two story bar area but instead stopped there for lunch only. A chic place with dozens of dressed-up millenials queing for a chance to take a selfie, in the many just-for-that-purpose, backdrops around their dirt lot. Including a mini vineyard, Frida portraits galore and other picturesque props. I ordered a "ribeye" that I noticed was a supermarket bought marinated steak when they opened the package. I also ordered 6 mini carnitas tacos and 3 pieces of corn-on-the-cob. That, plus two Sangrias and two diet cokes I also ordered added up to over 100 dollars. Even though the food was presented beautifully by a crew of young and attractive waitstaff I just couldnt help but be shocked at the price and quality. I wouldn't go there again. read more

Love. Love. Love! This is my new favorite place in Baja Wine Country. They are absolutely hitting the ball out of the park. The atmosphere = 10 (who doesn't love a theme based around on of the most famous female artists of all time?) The food = 10 (with Vegan, Vegetarian or other food restriction options, the food still maintains its amazing quality and flavor all across the board. I had the Ceviche Verde, my husband had vegan tostadas and our tour guide got Tacos de lechon and everyone loved what they ate!) Music = 10. It wasn't live, but it was well chosen and Totally set the mood chill vibes and an all around positive experience. Staff = 10. All friendly and accommodating. Tip: This place is still being built. A rooftop lounge Over the wine tasting room is in its final construction stages. Also, be sure to check out the little cobalt blue building to the right of the entrance. If I could give 0 stars I would. I would have loved to review the wine, but they only gave me their lack of customer service to review. We walked in a quarter to 7 on a Thursday excited to check out the spot and enjoy some wine and beer. Although their posted closing time is 8 (see picture attached), we were told they were closed for the night and denied even a taste flight. Understandable, as I could see that may require someone to wait on us. We then asked if we could maybe just buy a bottle to enjoy on the property... well, we could buy a bottle, but not drink it there. No thanks! If their service is any indication of the quality of their product, take your business elsewhere. I'm sure there are plenty of other places that will give you a much more pleasant experience than that we were given in only 10mins of being there. What a shame. read more

El servicio fue de lo peor .Comida pésima mi pescado creo k ni sal le pusieron sabía como un pedazo de hule. 1st we had to make a $100. deposit to even make the reservation for dinner. Not one person bothered to mention that none of it was refundable if we didn't use it all on dinner. 2nd, the menu was VERY limited and the first thing we asked for was not available that night. It was almost like a Happy Hr menu. I ordered Sangria and it was awful, tasted like boxed wine with a splash of alcohol. 3rd, we were seated in the "Lake" area which should be called the "Swamp" area...not esthetically pleasing at all. 4th, When the bill came and the waiter asked us how we planned to spend the balance we said we were not spending anymore money and to please refund the balance.He told us they didn't do that and that we could go to the tasting room and buy souvenirs or more alcohol. We didn't need more alcohol as new were driving and resent that they were trying to get us to drink more. Also, my companion lives in Mexico so had no need for souvenirs. Finally, we told our waiter we would need to speak to a manager and that person also told us they gave no refunds. We told them we were not going to leave without the balance of our money. After much ado they finally refunded our balance. We will NEVER return and have been telling everyone we know about the experience. I really hope people will pay attention to this review. It is only after years and years in the food and beverage business that I make these judgements. Finally, I want to be sure and mention that our waiter was as helpful as he could be as well as charming....but definitely not worth $100.00. read more

When we were ready for the check we had to go find someone while they were all hanging out by the bar, to make things worse they did not apply our deposit that they make you pay when making a reservation. This is such a cute winery and tasting bar. The wines were good and the decor was great. However, when we went to the restaurant to get a few small plates, the hostess (a girl with a fade haircut) was extremely rude. She didn't ask if we wanted to sit or nothing, we were looking at the menu and she just said that if we wanted appetizers we had to go to the appetizer bar. We were clearly looking at the menu and trying to get a few things, but after her attitude we just walked away. The restaurant wasn't even busy so her attitude just killed it for us. Hopefully next time there's better service. Very very disappointed with the service. read more

Such a beautiful place filled with art at very corner, I mean it is called Casa Frida so it lives up to the name. The drinks were amazing We didn't have food other than the cheese board, which honestly for the price can be a little more presentable. Only complain I have is that they sat us in the scorching sun for 40mins. And I made reservations expecting to get a better seats (you pay for the reservation upfront), mind you I understand they are a very busy place but people who were doing walk ins were getting sat in the shaded areas. I've been here a few times, but this last time, the service was horrible. First the waiter wouldn't come to our table so that we can place an order. When he finally did come and brought us our order, he wouldn't come back to take another order. We had to get up and look for him constantly. At the end of the night, when we paid, he demanded a tip of $40 dollars. He was rude and wasn't a good waiter. He shouldn't be demanding a tip with horrible service. Casa Frida needs to train their staff to be polite. We are easy going customers but this took the cake. read more

This was such a beautiful winery inside and out! I'm not typically a fan of white wine, but theirs was quite tasty! Of the flight of wines I tried, the Nebbiolo was my favorite. I was a tad disappointed that they couldn't sell me a bottle ($75) as they had a limited supply for now. I ended up purchasing the Diego, which is a red blend that was a great medium bodied wine! They said there is a tequila tasting on Friday through Sunday and a rooftop area. I'll definitely be back the next time I travel through the Valle de Guadalupe! read more
