My dad and I are on the way home from SC and decided to get food near our hotel. I looked at the places around on yelp, and unfortunately this was the best option. As soon as we got in there were screaming children and loud music. After we were seated our waiter came up and took our order without writing it down. I assumed he was good at his job. He got my order wrong I think and plus was very cold and dismissive which is not what I expected. I asked for a burrito number 10 on the menu and it looked more like an enchilada than a burrito. I also noticed when it got to the table that it looked great but the sauce on the "burrito" was pizza sauce. It tasted exactly like pizza sauce. My dad said his food was ok. The refried beans tasted like they were burnt and nothing like what refried beans should taste like. I love Mexican food whether authentic or not. Also this food made me sick to my stomach and when traveling that is not the best thing to happen. What was great about this place was the tamales it was amazing. Super flavorful and delicious. I attempted to go to this restaurant and ask for an ADA Accommodation for the music to be lowered due to my seizures. My children asked on behalf because it was too loud for me to ensure. The hostess laughed at my children when they asked and told them to go eat at home. The hostess also refused to get a manager. I will never go to this restaurant again. Go to Gino's next door. This might be the worse Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. There were two tables being occupied when I arrived. Both were finishing up. I had to ask the hostess to send the waitress around. She took another 5mins. When I finally ordered it took another 20mins for my food (which is unusual for a Mexican place) to arrive. When it did the carnitas were over cooked and hard and my silverware was filthy. I had to physically get up and go find more silverware. I was super hungry so I ate my rice and beans but that's it. Ordered #15 for my folks last night, a chimichanga meal for myself, & queso. i had asked for the #15 without cheese except for the quesadilla. when i got home i saw that there was no cheese on anything, which is to say that the queso was no queso, it was a pile of meat without cheese. why would i order queso without cheese. queso IS cheese. the chimichangas had no cheese, it was just meat rolled up & fried. so i couldn't eat it, and it was $20 of food & i had to find something else at home. read more

I've been to Casa Grande multiple times and my conclusion is this place is worth it for the steak (both price and taste)! The other stuff on the menu... I would probably pass on. The restaurant is pretty much your standard mexican restaurant experience. You go in, get seated, and you're offered chips and salsa, which are pretty good. The chips are warm, the salsa is slightly spicy and you can taste the fresh chunks of tomatoes with every dip. This time around, my parents and I ordered the carnitas, steak fajitas, and the steak mexicano. The carnitas and steak fajitas were both rather disappointing. Both were tough and were overcooked. The steak fajitas were burnt as well. The steak mexicano, however, was cooked to perfection... juicy and tender! I would in the future probably only order steaks here because every time the steak has been delicious. It's well worth it for the price too - less than $15 or so. read more

Came here with my family on a weeknight for a celebration. When we walked in, an employee saw us, but didn't seat us for several minutes. When we were finally seated, service was on the slow side. I ordered one of the fajitas which, at the top of the fajita section of the menu, states that it comes with rice and beans. When the order arrived, there was no rice or beans, so I asked our waiter about it and showed him in the menu. He told me that particular fajita dish doesn't come with rice and beans. Grande chicken quesadilla to go was sitting in juice, so it was soggy and sloppy. Also, no utensils or napkins given (staying in hotel) so had to eat with hands. Salsa was very watery. Hard to even keep on chip. They put large salsa, guacamole and cheese dip in a styrofoam cup. So unless you have something else to dump it into, it's hard to actually dip your chip. In recents weeks I have ordered take-out at two different locations, only to arrive for pick-up and learn that the bill was much more than their website listed. It seems there are lunch prices, and dinner prices. They also need to update their website if prices have increased. Casa Grande's service is outstanding, the prices affordable, with a wide variety of dishes, and the food seasoned very well. I had the Burritos Deluxe which consists of one chicken and one beef burrito, a good test dish for my needs. The beef was my favorite, it tasted so good like the meat was marinated and not just like beef with seasoning on it. Husband had this to say about his Enchiladas Poblanos "I tend to prefer the corn tortillas a little more crispy but it was very good. The molé sauce wasn't overpowering, which can sometimes happen at other places." For dessert I shared a plate of sopapillas and they were the best I've ever had, hands down. Visit this place as soon and as often as you can. So glad we chose it out of the list when we were searching near us. read more

This was my first time visiting Casa Grande, and i'm not to sure how many other times i'm going to visit. The service was good, our waiter was tentative and very polite, he made me feel very welcome. We ordered, what i believe was, the deluxe fajitas for 2. Which comes with every meat that is offered on the tacos. The flavors were good and it was very filling. I wasn't too fond of the guacamole that they had, but it was ok for putting on my fajita. They have TV's all over the place and every TV was playing the same thing, would have been nice to have something different on the TV's but, i wasn't there to watch TV, we were there to eat :) I would come back again, as they were a pretty decent place for Mexican food. read more

I've been here a few times with my girlfriend and the service here isn't the best. I often feel rushed by the waiter/waitress once they finally come to the table. There have been a few times where they acknowledged is quickly but usually there is a wait. The food is average to what I would expect. In the past I have ordered the chimichangas and the enchiladas. The portions aren't bad, but the flavors are a little off. I don't clams to be a chef, but I feel some of the food lacks in flavor. The chimichangas I got were filled nicely but I felt it needed some sort of seasoning or more cheese. Basically, something to give it more flavor. There have also been times where we've gotten dirty silverware. The cleanliness of the restaurant has also been a little concerning since there have been at least two times where we have sat at a sticky table. Overall, the food is average and the service isn't the best. If you're looking for a convenient place with kinda decent Mexican food this might work for you. We've mostly eaten here because it's on the cheaper side but at this point I'd rather spend a few more bucks somewhere else. read more

I've visited this location for years. Over the past year we noticed some new plates and a serious decline in food. We also noticed the staff change...and service has progressively gotten worse. We waited far too long in a near empty dining room, the waiter forgot part of our order and one of the entrees was wrong. Our salsa and cheese dip didn't taste good, and were highly suspicious ("is that half a cockroach?!..no, it can't be!!") My daughter smashed whatever it was with her knife and convinced me that it couldn't be a roach, and that I shouldn't complain about it...teenagers. Our entrees were..*meh*..edible, I suppose. So far, no signs of food poisoning... For the first time, in probably about 20 years, I left less than a 20% tip...and a poor yelp review. read more

Casa Grande used to be my staple for Mexican at anytime. They have several locations throughout Richmond and I could always count on their food. Over the last year or so I think the quality of the food has gone down. My wife and I had lunch with a friend and she was like, "I haven't been to Casa in years, lets go there" Amy and I looked at each like "umm ok". We were hoping it would be better this day. First their Salsa was very bland and had no real taste to it today. Our friend got there Cheese Dip and after a few dips, exclaimed "Did they change cheese's, this isn't very good" Once our food came, which was quickly the Mushrooms in my Mushroom quesadilla were cold. Like they had been sitting in a pot and never heated up, the shredded cheese inside wasn't even completely melted. My wife got a taco salad with chicken, which she said was OK, but not as good it used to be and our friend was so-so about her meal. The only champ out of the whole bunch was our 3 year old the loved his chicken nuggets and rice. It's a shame that such a staple of Richmond for so long, is slowly going down hill. We have found other Mexican place that we frequent more often now and not sure when we will return to Casa Granda read more

Customer service was the worse I have experienced. Chicken was cold on my tacos , cheese dip was cold. Waiting staff was horrible . Asked for napkins for a family of four and literally handed three napkins . I was rushed by the waitress to take my order even after asking for a few moments to go over the menu with my family . After receiving my food the waitress did not return until we were done eating . Upon review of the check it came to my attention that there were additional charges for the drinks for the kids meals . When I asked the waitress was the charge correct she said yes . Then moments later a "manager" comes to the table with unnecessarily aggressive demeanor . Hostile with his stance and the way he spoke with me . If drinks are not included with "kids" meals and are charged full price why would they not be allowed refills . The solution the "manager" had was to "allow" us to have refills to go for the kids . I would never eat here again and would never suggest it to anyone else . To top things off, social distancing is not practiced . For a place that was about 70 percent empty the staff repeatedly placed new customers very close to us. Escalating a simple question into more is very unacceptable horrible practices in my opinion, additional customer service training is definitely needed . read more

I got the fajitas combo and an order of nachos with chicken and beans. Fajitas combo: Meh. I've had better. The menu online says it comes with fried beans, spanish rice, sour cream and guacamole. I didn't get any of that. Most places serve it with white rice so I was looking forward to trying their spanish rice. All I got was a container of the beef/chicken/bell peppers/onions, etc... Where's my rice? My beans? My guac? They forget half the order but they certainly don't forget to charge you full price :) Nachos w/ Chicken & Beans: Chicken is BLAND. The beans didn't save it. And the nachos were mush by the time I opened the container. And I don't know how but the first few bites of the chicken were FISHY. What the hell... We live a mere 5 mins away so if it worked out, this would have been my go-to. I'm disappointed. read more
