I ordered the filet mignon which came with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes and I ordered a side of their mushrooms that were recommended. Everything was so good. The filet was cooked perfectly, super juicy and full of flavor. The mushrooms were honestly really rich and flavorful. The mashed potatoes and veggies were also great. We had a few glasses of wine with dinner and they were all really good. For dessert, we got the chocolate cake and it was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was attentive and quick and even though we stayed past closing, we never felt rushed at all. The overall quality of the food and service really impressed me. Just a heads up, this is not a cheap dinner. It came out to ~$530 for four people, but we did have two bottles of wine. That said, it felt fair for the quality and experience.

Order a pineapple and Cocount face drink, relaxed in the water until out food was ready. We definitely order way to much food but it was delicious. My sisters split a seafood platter for 3 and I had the bacon wrapped filet mignon. It was cooked just right with salad, rice and veggies. This is one of the best meals I had while in Mexico. The staff was attentive. I appreciate the manager making sure my meat was not cooked in the same pan as the seafood (due to my allergic reaction). He personally came over and made sure everything was good and yes it was. At the end of the day... Yes, I would return to eat here.

I don't feel like I'm getting a good value for my money. The first time I visited, I ordered the crab enchilada. I did not like it. Not even a little. Two of my friends tasted it and didn't care for it either. It was left on the plate, barely touched. I figured it just wasn't my thing. Fast forward a year. My friends wanted to go there again, so I figured I'd give it another shot. Nope. No more. I ordered the chicken breast with pineapple. The pineapples were great, hard to mess up. The chicken was rather flavorful, but over cooked and dry. My companion ordered the Rib Eye. It was very thick and appeared juicy, but had very little flavor. The thing about Puerto Vallarta is that there are a bazillion restaurants...a bazillion and 1...a crazy amount of eateries. Of all these restaurants, one can eat a meal costing less than $150 pesos, including a tip. The bill for two, with no alcohol at Carlota's was $800 pesos! Over the top for mediocre food. I'm just not sure what the draw is.

The tacos came out beautifully crisp on the outside and packed with tender, flavorful birria. Topped with fresh onion and cilantro and served with a rich consommé for dipping; every bite was deeply satisfying. It was very filling, delicious, and easily one of the best food deals we've found in Puerto Vallarta. Gotta mention that the service was warm and friendly, and the whole place had a welcoming, laid-back vibe. Great flavor, great value, great people. We'll definitely be back.
