The view from the terrace down to the Malecon

Cash only! Otherwise 5/5 Great spot, away from the maddening crowd. The ambience is perfect 10/10. The food was fresh and delicious. The pollo tostada tradicional was our favorite. We also had the carnitas that was very good. We just really liked the seasoning of the chicken a little more. We also had horchata, which was very refreshing and with light floral notes. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was the cash only policy. Hope that doesn't make me a karen on here. The service was fantastic.

After seeing Our Lady of Guadalupe Church we stumbled in to this quaint courtyard and here we found a hidden gem. La Tostaderia is small with tables inside and outside under the shaded trees, with a view to the water and a slight breeze. Very welcoming on such a hot day in November! I love a good chilaquiles and La Tostaderia did not disappoint. I was able to try both the red and green sauce. I preferred the red but both were delicious. The refried beans were good too. I cleaned the plate!

Beautiful hidden gem right next to El Malecón. The ambience is very chill and the service was excellent. Everyone in this establishment was very nice and humble. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. We ordered los Chilaquiles divorciados and it was excellent. We'll for sure come back!

Tried their (85 Peso) burrita and thought it was as good or better in both taste and value than those of many other places nearby I've tried. I also liked their (shaded) outdoor dining area.

Carnitas tostada with all three salsas on top

Casual, popular, tiny place couple blocks off the Malecón and near Guadalupe church. Service is pleasant. My carnitas tostada was large and had a nice assortment of shredded cabbage, red onion, tomato. There was a thin schmear of retried pintos on the bottom and a sprinkling of queso añejo on top. Flavor was bland AF is my only complaint. Usually carnitas are savory and seasoned with salt, not to mention greasy and crispy in certain bites. Even liberal use of salsas didn't help much. Tab was $60 pesos, or US$3.

This place is phenomenal! I come here for the past 6 years; it's my place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One thing you need to know about the place.!! This is the only restaurant where the owner cares about the community, where are you won't find atrocious price tax on food, instead, everything is so reasonable the locals can afford. They should give you a reason to visit enjoy the food!

Nice little place for breakfast on a stairway a block off the malecón. Very inexpensive starting at $55mex.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. I got a virgin strawberry margarita, the wife got a coke. It was very affordable.

The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

We both ordered margaritas and they brought chips and pico de gallo. We also ordered the tuna sashimi. This was our favorite dish of the night. A huge platter of tuna served with crusty bread. He loved it. This was his favorite restaurant of the trip, and he was ready to return the next day. I'd definitely recommend this for the uniqueness and flavors.
