Decided to give them a try for breakfast on 05/02, staff was polite and friendly, dining area was clean. I ordered the chilaquiles verde and my husband order the chilaquiles rojo and added carne asada. I do appreciate a cook that can make over easy eggs just as I like them so I was glad about that but I'm going to be honest when I say that my chilaquiles were seriously lacking in flavor and spice, so I was sadly disappointed. My husband said his carne asada was good but that his chilaquiles were bland and definitely not spicy at all. Although he did enjoy their beans. I would have told them I didn't enjoy my but unfortunately after we were served our waitress never returned to check on us or refill our water. This was our second time here, we'd tried it once before and the food was decent that trip. We visited on a Friday for an early dinner. We ordered drinks and the margarita was on point. Chips and salsa were delivered quickly while we waited to order. Salsa is mild. We ordered tacos off the al a carte menu and tbh we were completely underwhelmed. I ordered a shredded beef taco and chicken taco. Waitress ordered 3 instead. Our ordered arrived and we were no provided any additional salsa as the tacos came with meat, lettuce and cheese...this is a Mexican restaurant. The tacos were bland and unseasoned. I was disappointed that street tacos were not on the menu. The tab for 5 tacos, two margaritas and 6 al a carte tacos was $77. Asked for caldo de res and albóndigas. the albóndigas soup. the albóndigas soup was flavorless. water is more flavo than that soup. I tasted my friends caldo de res and it was delicious. I asked the waiter for a small cup of the broth for beef broth. because my soup was incredibly flavorless. she said NO there is nothing we can do. it would be a new plate as the plates are pre set. Moved here about a year ago. The one complaint we have about Menifee (it's a great community) is the lack of good restaurants, especially Mexican restaurants. But we don't give up. Enter Casa Jimenez ! Came across this gem on yelp and figured we had nothing to lose. We weren't disappointed. Tucked away in a strip mall, the place is a medium sized modest restaurant. Has that non-corporate family run business vibe. Not fancy at all so you know the food is probably good. Service was fast and friendly. The menu has all the basics you'd expect. She had a cheese enchilada and beef taco combo, I had a molcajete. Both fantastic as were the rice and beans that accompanied them. This is the spot! My kids and I have been coming here weekly for weeks due to dropping our daughter off at the tumbling place next-door for an hour once a week. The food is always delicious and quick. Very good food portion sizes and prices. The one in the city of Perris is great too. I recently visited Casa Jimenez in Menifee. The food was good, the portions were generous, and the prices were fair. Unfortunately, the service experience was mixed. Most of the employees seemed expressionless and gave little indication that they appreciated their customers. The atmosphere felt more transactional than welcoming. There were two employees who stood out as friendly and attentive, but many of the others seemed disengaged. Our server, in particular, was a good example of what poor service can look like--minimal interaction, little enthusiasm, and very little effort to make us feel valued as guests. The quality of the food is the main reason I would consider returning, but improved customer service and a more welcoming attitude from the staff would make a significant difference in the overall dining experience. read more

We were left in full long conversation in a party of four with dirty dishes, laying in front of us for a good 20 minutes. We have been searching for a long time to find a Mexican restaurant we love and is consistent in Menifee. I honestly think we have tried every place. We finally ordered from Casa Jimenez and we are so happy to have found a delicious, fresh, flavorful and consistently good place. We can't speak to the ambiance because we have only ordered from them (multiple times now), but even through ordering I can say their service is amazing. They are so attentive, everything is packaged well. They always give extra salsa and this time even included chips for us. Their tamales (which you can get year round ) are AMAZING. Generous filling, and both the chicken and beef are delicious. And the Flautas are delicious too. Next time we will have to take pictures. The three of us came here last evening and enjoyed ourselves. The Menu (see attached) and food, were nearly identical to when it was Provecho Grill. I guess award-winning chef Rosie O'Connor exited the business in favor of the Jimenez family. Otherwise only thing missing, were the Frida Kahlo portraits on the wall and Chef Rosie's delicious Empanadas de Barbacoa and Mole Chicken Enchiladas. See attached. We ordered a couple of frozen Strawberry Margaritas ($12.00) and went with the Chimichangas/ Burritos. They were tasty and hit the stop. While the Sysco style salsa and chips were okay. The heat level of everything was around two or so. I thought the presentation of my Carne Asada Burrito "Christmas Style" (photo) was good and it had a nice taste. I would certainly recommend it and order it again. The tab for the three of us came to $81.00, before taxes and gratitudes, which seemed fair. That certainly shows just a few months after opening in my neighborhood. Let's let the cat out of the bag - It's a chain but a small locally owned chain. They seem to have the systems down and a solid menu. The place isn't fancy or flashy but it's nice and very clean. The food isn't the best Mexican food I ever had but its real good. That comment in no way is meant to be a negative. What was exceptional was the service and the overall value of our meals. Here are some highlights, on the table you will first see a list of build your own combos 2 item and 3 item capping out at $18 a served with rice and beans. Lunch specials and breakfast are also served all day and all night. Chips and salsa are a amazing and refilled upon request. I ordered the Burrito #38 with Chili Verde and Green sauce on top. The burrito was huge and filled with rice beans and big hunks of pork in a mild Verde sauce. On the plate was lettuce tomatoes, sour cream, and guacomole. The Burrito was good and very filling but could have been more wet. I will for sure order this again. My sister and Brother-in-law had 3 item combo's and had nothing but good things to say about their meals and even took the leftovers home. The 3 ladies working last night were kind, accommodating and sincerely wanted to serve us, make sure we were comfortable, had what we needed and help bag up our leftovers once the to go boxes were filled. I ordered a breakfast burrito, taquitos, and menudo. The breakfast burrito was "ok" but mostly filled with potatoes. Definitely not worth $14.00 compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Oddly, it comes with a slice of cantaloupe and one leaf of romaine lettuce. I hate to say this, but the taquitos were probably the worst taquitos I've ever had from a restaurant in my life. Poor quality tortillas, very dry, no cheese. Only comes with two measely taquitos, a small serving of beans and a small serving of rice - Absolutely not worth $13.00. The Menudo was the best overall and the reason this review has three stars instead of one. The flavor was great and the tripe were cut in large delicious chunks. However, the corn tortillas, again, were very poor quality. They were hard as a rock and I threw them away. Almost as if they were left out to stale. Near our home and when dinning in, always wonderful staff. Every Mexican restaurant is a little different. I have found the Fajitas mix is wonderful. Steak, chicken, shrimp, good veggies. My husband likes Burritos Grande, actually any burrito. He likes red sauce but they do offer Green. Lately had to order for pick up to surgery and husband doesn't like to cook. We just moved to Menifee and were craving Mexican. This place was close and looked inviting. We were sat immediately and the server came with chips and salsa shortly after. The chips were light and crispy and the salsa was so good we couldn't get enough. They had a daily combo special, 2 item or 3 item for a good price. My husband got the 2 item because he wanted the tamale and a Chile Rellano. I got the 2 item combo because I wanted aground beef tostada , chicken sope and a bean & cheese burrito. Both combos came with rice and beans. My husband loved the chicken tamale which says a lot because he's a big critic when it comes to tamales. I tried it and it was good, the chicken has very good flavor with a hint of tomatillo. The Chile Rellano had an abundant amount of cheese and the outside was a light airy crispy batter. My tostada was good , had a little too much meat for me , but that's my issue . The bean and cheese burrito was yummy almost as good as our Panchita's :) We both felt the sope's chicken had good flavor . The rice and beans were very good also.
