Whenever I'm in the area, I make it my business to come here and have breakfast or lunch. I feel like my food is always perfectly prepared. Quality food, tons of flavor. The menu has something for everyone from a classic breakfast to specialty dishes. One of my favorite dishes is the Huevos Rancheros. Great service. Easy parking right in front of the restaurant.

My daughter and I wanted breakfast food but slightly after 11:30am. Went in yelp for what was in the area and found this place. There is construction going on in the parking lot, but the place its self is fine. We were seated relatively fast. Deciding what to eat was hard. But we eventually settled on a breakfast burritos. They were playing 90s music (R& B, Alternative, Pop etc). Our burritos were made hot & fresh. I will be back for the shrimp & grits- I'm curious, not everyone knows how to make it!

Between 4 and 5 stars. Might be closer to 5 once the construction in the plaza is finished and if their business practices are more friendly to the consumer. Food was good. Presentation was excellent. Prices for portion size felt okay. Didn't like that there's an additional fee for using credit card- I'm used to small quaint mom and pop doing this unless you spend over $10 or $20 but it didn't match the beautiful restaurant and quality By the way, Google maps led me to the neighborhood on the adjacent street. Didn't realize this plaza was under construction.

Great service and good affordable food! The shrimp and grits were a cross between Mexican flavors and southern style shrimp and grits and definitely delicious. (I added an order of poached eggs) They are Open even though there is construction all around. Interior is clean and neat. Would definitely come again!!

This unassuming little diner that closes at 2pm is truly a gem! If I lived near by I would be coming here regularly. It's unfortunate that the strip mall has everyone under construction. We almost didn't go in based on the outside. Inside looks like a little dressed up diner, complete with plant walls and neon signs. Service was fast and friendly, but it's the food that shines! I've had plenty of shrimp and grits, but this was unexpectedly lovely! I got it the straight up "normal" way, but apparently some people ask for it with cheese and onions. What surprised me was how many big fat shrimps were on top, and they were not overcooked! The Mexican style preparation was delicious! If you are afraid of spice, you'll be ok with this. I didn't think it was spicy at all, but my husband felt it had a little. I hold t make up my mind, so I also got the Menudo. Normally Menudo is only served on Sundays at a lot of restaurants. But here they serve it every day! It's tasty, and comes with your choice of flour or corn tortillas and they give you lime, cilantro, and onions on the side for you to put in as much as you want My husband went for a more traditional breakfast, with scrambled eggs and a waffle. It all looked good. He also got some oatmeal. If you do not like a lot of cinnamon on your oatmeal, make sure to say so. They automatically put a big swath of cinnamon on top of the oatmeal. They served it with brown sugar and raisins. We like cinnamon, and felt the oatmeal was delicious and soothing. I'm including pictures of the menu so you can see all the prices, and I felt that for the serving size, everything was a fair price

Looking for something for a quick date with hubby while in the area and saw they have shrimp and grits on their menu. Decided to give it a try. Service was great since we walked in until we left. That's definitely a plus! Restaurant started to pack as our food arrived at our table. It seems like it's quite popular for the locals. I think you can guess what I ordered, shrimp and grits! My husband had Huevos con chorizo without the beans. Probably not really the right place for shrimp and grits, but won't say it was bad. It's good, but just not the bold flavor I was looking for. I could say the same for the huevos con chorizo. Was not a fan of the salsa. We've tried a better one before. I saw they have menudo in the menu and noticed some people ordered and enjoyed them. Maybe have to try that next time. Overall, food was okay, service was great, and portions were not bad at all. Flavorwise, ymmv! You may end up enjoying it more than I do!

Stopped by here to do some work and grab breakfast. I thought it would more of a cantina style but was more of a modern vibe. Has a bar, bunch of TVs, open space with plenty of seating. Very clean. Service was excellent. I was promptly seated and my order was taken a few minutes later. Food came out very quickly. Crowd was light at around 9 am. As for the food, it is a mix menu of Mexican style breakfast as well as American style. I was tempted to get the the A La Mexicana burrito but chose the California omelette. Everything was fresh, even the avocado on top. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly, crispy. Overall a very good dining experience. Highly recommend.

    Menudo Definitely home made yummy

Reasonably priced but their chorizo has a lot of gristle. Pretty bad. Don't think we'll go back to this place.

I had the Veggie Omelette, and it was absolutely loaded with fresh vegetables. Every bite tasted fresh, clean, and delicious. I also ordered a latte with the banana foam, and wow... that foam was nice! It was thick, creamy, and flavorful with banana flavor. I could have eaten the foam all by itself, but I mixed it into the latte with my straw. It added just the right touch of sweetness, although the banana flavor became a little more subtle once it was mixed in. My mom ordered the Veggie Omelette as well, along with the Banana Pancake as her specialty pancake. It was delicious! It was topped with fresh banana slices, walnuts, and a light dusting of powdered sugar. Such a great combination without being overly sweet. The real surprise of the visit was the fresh-made lemonade. I ordered the Paradise Lemonade with guava and passion fruit, and it was incredibly refreshing and full of flavor. It's the perfect summer drink, and I can honestly see myself stopping by just to grab one to go on a hot day. My mom tried the Havana Lemonade with strawberries. While she isn't usually a fan of tart drinks, she still enjoyed it. If you love strawberry lemonade, you'll definitely appreciate this one. It's such a fun and creative concept. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Great food, refreshing drinks, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. I love the concept, and I'll definitely be back again soon!

My wife and I had an enjoyable breakfast experience, tasting some unique dishes that are worth coming in for. We had a real early errand in the Lomita area, so wanted to take advantage by trying a different breakfast place. They have a really informative website, explaining the owning family's participation and how some of their food is sourced. It's a brunch place (open from 8 am to 2/3 pm, Tu-Su), so needed to wait a bit outside (street parking only, found one hour free parking right in front since coming so early). Menus are available at the front counter, and you place and pay (clover) for your order first. The food came out soon after, delivered to your table. There is a self-serve water jug in the same area as take-as-you-need take-out containers (also saw a self-serve costco-size plastic wrap box for wrapping...such a Korean thing to do). Utensils and napkins are available at the table to take for need. I really like places like this that have optimized the service experience, getting what you need without having to track someone down. Forking Around's Filipino Burrito ($18.95) - a collab with the food influencer 'Forking Around' to put into a breakfast burrito, many common ingredients from a Filipino breakfast. This includes egg, garlic fried rice as base and a vegetable lumpia with longanisa pieces, wrapped in a good flour tortilla. Sides were both a cilantro lime crema and a well made sawsawan. The sausage was not too sweet nor too red (though perhaps a bit too meatloaf-like), and the lumpia in the burrito worked for me. Korean Breakfast with bulgogi and steamed rice ($19.95) - it was served in a cast-iron skillet and the pan had been heated up greatly...super hot when served and still warm by the time we left. The flavor of the bulgogi was solid, and I loved the presentation. Taco Truck Burrito ($17.95) - korean-style al pastor pork, with pineapple and kimchi fried rice and egg. It was good....forgot to ask if the meat was really cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Came with a good chipotle salsa and lime crema. We were done in 30 minutes, from entry to exit. It wasn't too busy, so asked the front-of-house lead where the longanisa sausage and lumpia were made...she stated that it was all in-house. That's really impressive, making an ingredient from scratch that is only used in one dish. This and the elegant presentation and longevity really shows that the entire team behind bites & bashes cafe (catering) knows what they are doing.

Ie. banana turon or ube pancakes, Filipino inspired burrito with longanisa. I chose the bulgogi plate and asked for no white rice and was offered fruit or salad in lieu of. Tasty bulgogi w/a small egg on top yet the portions are very modest. In the middle of my meal, I ordered one more item- the krak fries which were very garlicky. They go for the presentation with the floral and greens to jazz up the look. Hubby's dish was straight ahead- Bulgogi cheesesteak and fries. Also modest in portions. Iced decaf Americano in a plastic cup and OJ in a plastic cup. Kinda odd considering their price points. Some beverages are in mugs. This was more like a 2.75 stars rounded up to 3.

The fillings were good, but adding jalapeños felt like a questionable decision. Overall, it tasted too saucy for my liking and I didn't even touch the chipotle sauce that came on the side. *** This is one of those passable breakfast burritos you get because it is convenient and available all day.
