This is one of my favorite go to spots for Carne Asada Tacos and tortilla chips with red salsa. I like to add cheese and sour cream to my tacos as it gives it the finishing flavor that I LOVE! Sometimes I order a side of rice to my order and top it off with the salsa. The service is amazing, as everyone is super friendly in person and via telephone. The cook has become familiar with me and he also greets me. I usually call in my order and it's ready upon arrival. They close at 2 pm during the week and also offer brunch on the weekends. It looks like a family business with the daughters being the waitress and parents cook the food in the back. It's a spacious area with only two waitress so it takes a minute to get their attention. I like everything about Casa Mayoral. It's a great place for breakfast or lunch (they close at 2pm). The current owners did a very good job renovating an old space to turn it into a cozy contemporary diner. As the name suggests, classics of the Mexican kitchen feature prominently, and my wife and I have tried many of them. She favors the chorizo and egg plate, while I usually go for the chilaquiles. Their tacos are also very good. Though I haven't tried it, menudo is on the daily menu. They also serve a traditional country breakfast, waffles, French toast, pancakes, omelettes, and other breakfast staples. I haven't tried their burgers, because whenever I stray from the breakfast menu I go straight for the shrimp and grits, which is honestly one of the best dishes I have tried in years. The grits are buttery, they are generous with the shrimp, and the spicy sauce they use to drench it is perfect. I highly recommend a visit, especially for those who study or work at CSU Dominguez Hills. read more

This tiny little gem, located in Carson CA is absolutely worth the trip. It's located in a shopping center on Avalon Blvd., and it faces the main street. Casa Mayoral is simple. Nothing flashy or over-the-top. The food is great, the staff is very friendly, AND they have some of the BEST chips and salsa! The first time we visited, my husband and I both had the breakfast burrito. It was very flavorful and was cooked just right. As soon as we tasted the salsa, we knew that a friend of ours who adores Mexican food would love it. Sure enough, the next time she visited we took her and her thoughts were the same. Great food, great service and GREAT salsa. On her first visit, she opted for the French Toast combo, that came with 4 pieces of french toast, 2 eggs, two slices of bacon and two pieces of sausage. Talk about a lot of food. She wound up taking half of it home and thoroughly enjoyed it for dinner that night. This is a small business and family-owned. In my opinion, what better way to help our economy than by patronizing small businesses. They're open everyday from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Stop by, have a great meal and tell your friends. My second day visiting the restaurant I went for my first day on May 25, 2023 and back again today with my wife. The food and service is incredible and found out that is 100% family on the servers and people that work behind the counter are sisters and the recipes if I'm not mistaken, come from the father. You will not find any pre-frozen cooked in a microwave style food here so if you're into great home, cooking fresh and very delicious, this will be your stop.
