I love the flour tortillas! The first time I went I had great food and great service. Unfortunately, the second time around, wasn't so pleasant. We found a long hair in my sons food. All we wanted was a replacement and we were treated as though we were trying to scam a free plate! On top of that, we were never offered refills on our drinks. It's too bad. We had a party catered this weekend and everything was fine until the servers we paid an extra 300 dollars for did not show. Instead it was one guy who refilled the trays as my daughters grandma and aunts served the guest. When we requested the 300 dollar refund we were denied based on the fact one guy stood around and did what we could have done if we were informed that this is where our extra 300 dollars is going. A lot of guest inquired about the restaurant for future parties. Unfortunately because of this I can not reccomend this catering to anyone. I see a lot of not so good reviews, but from my experience this place is the best! Maybe people just don't know what to order? I don't know. But I've tried there Tortas witch are amazing me and my bf always craved them for months! I've tried the chicken Caldo soup, witch was also very good (not my favorite) but it did the job! And today I tried the Carne Con Chile and OMG it was sooooo goood!! I asked for it to be spicy and it was pretty spicy, I just have a very high tolerance with spice. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Lodi. They've earned that title simply because their homemade flour tortilla chips are absolutely delicious. Always make sure to ask for them if your chip basket doesn't have any. Honestly I just ask them for only the flour tortilla chips instead of the standard mix they usually give your table (the corn tortilla chips are made fresh and are good too, I'm just not as obsessed with them!). We went here has a family of 4 with 2 children under 5.They accommodated them great with waters with lids and booster seats. There was pretty much no one in there when we went in so it was quiet. It was overall clean inside. We ordered a kids plate burrito which was enough for them to share and came with rice and beans. They enjoyed it. We ordered the super burrito with green sauce which was ok it wasn't very super I was expecting salsa guacamole sour cream and the works but it came flimsy with a lot of sauce hardly cheese and a small amount of sour cream only. It was just an ok regular burrito covered in sauce I prefer a super burrito to be super. Customers beware ..My sister and I had lunch here after receiving the check and paying for our food with her debit/ stimulus card total 43.30 . My sister gave the waitress a 5.00 cash tip. We left the restaurant and my sister decided to check her account mind you it was the fist time she used it . That's when she notice that the balance was less then she thought . So she went on and checked the history on her card it said a transaction of 51.96. She took a second look at her receipt it said 43.30 .. but as we looked at the bottom of the receipt where it says the percentage of the tip we seen that the waitress had tipped herself 20% . My sister went back to the restaurant to talk to the waitress. they got all offensive asked my sister to show them Proof. So my sister called the card. And let her listen. Only transaction 51.96. Pretty good food, usually have the carnitas burrito. They have four chips mixed in with the corn...nice touch. Food and salsa is good but what keeps this from being four stars for me is we have had mixed success with service. Had them sneak a charge in on the ticket then point to the small print. that's okay, i just subtracted it from the tip. need to be up front, it works out much better in the end. Never fails to disappoint; couldn't tell me what the steak was pre order, "its meat." The 'steak' was one slice of carne asada,1/16 in thick less than two inches wide! The menu stated steak OR carne asada. Asked for no sides please, and was willing to pay for the full meal, served with everything, food allergies be damned, asked for lime for the soda; waitress arrived with a bowl of limes; they weren't for me. About once a year I come with a group because of the big table, same waitress, same service every stinkin' time!! Never came back to ask or fill the soda that decidedly was not diet anyway so oh well. I always get something different and one time, I even went there asking for something similar to a dish i had is Oaxaca, mexico a few years ago and it wasnt on the menu. Came here for dinner last night with a group of people. I have never heard of this place before and never knew it was near my old high school! It was not busy at all. They have music playing on a tv near the front of the restaurant. I wasn't too sure if it was for karaoke because no one was singing but that's what a friend of mine told me. I was told they have live music and a DJ at times too. We sat down and they brought out our water, free chips and salsa! I ordered a number 8, which is a Chimichanga, this includes 2 deep fried mini burritos (chicken, beef, pork or veggies), rice, avocado, sour cream, and lettuce. It was good but I probably would have chosen something else other than beef for my chimichanga. It was a little too much for me. I was satisfied though. We walked in to a nearly empty restaurant despite it being around 6:30. The staff was positive and took our order right away. We had our food almost immediately and it was good. The cheese they use in their burritos is delicious. But it was just so quiet in there! So strange. The staff attended to us and cleaned things but otherwise they seemed like they didn't have much to do. Plus the building is huge! It could seat 250 people! Strange but good. And, I ordered a beer, asked for negro Modelo, and it just seems odd to me how the lady walked by and sat a bottle on the table without a smile or a word. maybe because I expected a glass, maybe because I expected a "here you go"... then to see it was $5... My husband and I went in for lunch but at 9:30 a.m. We ordered the chile verde lunch and a glass of iced tea. All that came to $34.00, and that's lunch prices, wow. The salsa had no flavor, not even a hint of heat. The chile verde sauce was thin and creamy looking, tasted only ok, nothing special, even I can make better verde sauce than that.
