Place was very clean, you could smell the cleaner, but I should've been worried when I walked in and it was empty. Been once, no reason to go again. Very bland, tacos were plain. No fixings, no seasonings. Rice was plain, very little flavor. Bathrooms were very clean but in need of repair. No locks or knobs on stall doors. My son said the same for men's room. Casa has the best chips in the world; the flour chips are the best, made from their delicious homemade tortillas. All of their food is fantastic, though. I like the enchiladas, but my family goes for the fajitas every time, and the burritos are a favorite of several friends. They can go a little overboard with the guacamole on the soft tacos, though. read more

Went there with the family tonight specifically for the homemade tortillas. I've been known to order a batch for takeout and then ration them out over the next week. When the tortillas were brought out I immedeatley realized they were just store bought. When the waitress came back by I asked her if they had changed the way they made the tortillas. She said they were frome a package. Too bad. The homemade tortillas were soooo good and the only thing that set them apart from every other Mexican restaurant in town. Pleeeeeeaaaase bring back those homemade tortillas!!!!!!!!!!!! They do still make flour tortilla chips but again, they are made from store bought tortillas and not nearly as good as the ones made from their homemade tortillas. We really like getting takeout from this place! The homemade tortillas are amazing and they don't skimp on portions of anything like other restaurants do. The homemade tortillas are definitely the draw to this restaurant. I've never had tortillas that taste as good and had to get a few extra to take home. The rice and beans are perfectly cooked. The Chile relleno was one of the best I've had. The enchilada and tamale lacked a little in flavor and could've used more spice. The chips and salsa come with a mix of corn chips as well as the awesome fresh cooked chips from the homemade tortillas. The salsa had the right amount of spice with a smoky flavor. I just picked up a couple dozen pork tamales for my family dinner celebrating Thanksgiving (early). They were a big hit! Big and meaty, not lacking for taste or flavor. Priced at $20 per dozen. This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in lodi ! I use to eat here all the time as a child and I moved away after high school for college . Came back to visit family for thanksgiving and had to stop in to grab some homemade flour tortillas. I could live off these ! I felt welcomed with a smile from the staff and as if they remembered me . They treat you like family and have never had a problem with costumer service . Always a great experience! Let me start off by saying that I used to enjoy this restaurant. But the last couple of visits have really let me down. I must insist that you DO NOT order the posole. It was absolutely terrible. Not only was it bland but it was also lukewarm in temperature. Enough so that it didn't do anything to warm up my cabbage or onions. And my poor looking cilantro looked like it was from yesterday's garbage. The pork was anything but lean. So full of fat by time I trimmed it all off I had lost my appetite. For the price one would expect a bigger bowl. I did give 2 stars though...1 for service and 1 for our server. He kept our glasses full. Kudos to him! read more

My husband and I actually LOVE this restaurant. I heard about them thru my childs school because I noticed that Casa Mexicana helped fund a lot of the schools fundraisers. This is the only Mexican restaurant I will even eat at in Lodi. I personally love the Machaca meal which I order all the time. It's super clean inside, everything is piping hot, we even saw the owner making tortillas one time which my kids have never seen! read more

What happened to the homemade tortillas? Finally came back to give one of my old favorite restaurants another chance, only to be disappointed once again. Food marginally improved to just avg. from the last time and was served store bought flour tortillas (appeared to be the raw looking Guerrero flour tortillas in the mexican isle of any grocery store). I was excited to see we had a sit down mexican restaurant so close to where live (we just moved here from so cal). My food was so bland.. I wasn't ever going to slam a restaurant up until now. I've been going to this place for years. Mostly to get burritos. They have great burritos when they're done right. When I have a burrito that is done wrong, I call. I went there tonight to get two burritos for myself and my wife. She came home on her lunch break so I wanted to make sure she had food ready. I called and ordered ahead so I didn't have to wait. Two weeks ago I did the same thing and the burritos were very small, and for $6. each, they better be right. I've had issues in the past with the food not done right. Either adding sour cream or leaving something out. Tonight, I ordered for my wife a burrito with beef, guacamole and rice and beans. When I got home, mine was made right, hers was made wrong. They made hers with only beans, beef and cheese. My wife doesn't like cheese on her burritos and there was no rice or guacamole. I called and talked to the owners wife and told her what happened and said my wife is only home for her 30 minute lunch. I didn't have time to go there to fix this problem. The owner asked what I wanted to do. I said I can't go now because my wife has to go to work. I said I will be back tomorrow to get the one they messed up on. The owner said, "this is the last time I'll do this for you and next time, check your burritos before you leave". I was blown away from her comment which was not very professional and knowing I've been a long time customer for many many years. Also, the burritos went up in price to $7. I asked her when did she change the price? She said about three months now. I told her I was there two weeks ago and it was $6. The owners daughter served me and she didn't know? The owner said the rent went up that's why the prices went up. I walked out of there sad because at that point, I knew I lost my favorite place for burritos, and then to know how she talked to me after I got home after finding out the burrito wasn't made right? No complaints, everything is delicious and reasonably priced. The owners are very nice and they are always there, working hard.

It's been four months so I had forgotten about this place. Saw the address and it all came back to me. The inside of this place is just blah. I can live with blah if the food is good but it just wasn't. Bland. Like they ran out of spices. Even the salsa and guacamole were bland. First time coming here, thought i give it a try. Not what i was expecting. I order a steak plate, the steak was hard it felt like i was eating rubber bands. The rice and beans had no taste to them. The green pepper and onions were uncooked. The flour tortillas did not taste like flour tortillas. They seemed like they were under cooked. The horchata water felt like it had been water down, they had opened a couple hours ago and the water already felt water down. What ever happen to those authentic mexican restaurants, the ones were they actually cook mexican authentic food, not the Americanize mexican food. read more
