Casa Perez is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Yavapai county, with a festive interior, generous portions, and lots of seafood options. Great location on Glassford Hill for driving from Prescott. Amazing interior -- bright colors and lots of booths and decorations. Very few restaurant interiors in the area feel special to me. This is one of them (along with some restaurants in Prescott like the Italian restaurant Limoncello, the Thai restaurant Tara in Prescott, and the Hassayampa Inn hotel restaurant). The prices are a little higher than some other Mexican restaurants, but you get your money's worth since the portions are huge, including a record number of large shrimp in my shrimp entree. Friendly service, including the manager checking in on us. This was our third visit, and we have only had positive experiences here. They also have lunch specials and Happy Hour on weekdays and a location in Dewey with a gift shop. If you are in a celebratory mood or taking someone out, Casa Perez would be my first choice for Mexican food. But if you are tied to Prescott, Lindo Mexico offers lunch specials on the weekend (unlike Casa Perez). Casa Perez is one of two full-service Mexican restaurants in Prescott Valley that received the 2022 Golden Plate award by the Yavapai County health department. Casa Perez also won for the Dewey location. (The other full-service Mexican restaurant in PV with the 2022 award was Taqueria Guadalajara. No full-service Mexican restaurants in the town of Prescott won in 2022.) read more

The choice was fast "Mexican" food or a sit down Mexican Restaurant. We picked Casa Perez. The first impression was that the restaurant was almost empty and the decor was overwhelmingly colorful. After discussing the menu we decided against traditional Mexican food and settled on the least authentic Mexican appetizers, mini chimichangas (carnitas, chicken, and beef) and carne asada crisps (crispy tortilla covered in melted cheese and pieces of carne asada). Our waitress suggested that we might like a taquito plate. Everything was delicious and service was excellent. It is too bad we do not live nearby so that we could enjoy Casa Perez more often. Two side notes: they did not have sangria and the outfits worn by the staff left me with the expectation that at any minute a Mariachi Band would come out of the kitchen. read more

I live in the Los Angeles area and ever since 1987, have been coming to Prescott Valley to visit family. I'm a Mexican food fanatic and since 1987, have tried every single Mexican restaurant in the Prescott and Prescott Valley area. I've been nothing but disappointed with all the seriously pathetic excuses called Mexican restaurants you have here. Terrible. I really feel bad for you folks that live in this area. However... I'm happy to inform you that after years and years without it, you finally have some decent Mexican Food in Prescott Valley. Casa Perez. Because Casa Perez is new, my daughter (lives in PV) really wanted me to try it. I was reluctant (but I always want to make her happy) so I did. Hallelujah! Decent Mexican food has finally arrived here. Our food tonight was very good (including chips and salsa). I had a shredded beef taco w/rice and beans. My wife had a chicken burrito. My daughter and her fiancé both had chicken enchiladas plates w/rice and beans. Overall, food was delicious. However, my wife and I both agreed, that the food was not served hot enough (oven heat). It wasn't exactly cold, more like luke warm. That unfortunately is not acceptable. The melted cheese on top wasn't melted enough. Cheese must be thoroughly melted (scorched) more from spending more time in an oven before being served. Mexican food will taste better if served scorching hot from oven heat. Casa Perez hasn't been around long enough to learn that yet, but give them a little more time and hopefully they will figure that out! Overall, this is a decent new Mexican restaurant in the area although a bit gimmicky in their presentation (touristy decor and silly costumes servers wear). Lose the phony Hollywood western attire and concentrate more on product quality and food temperature! I will come to Casa Perez the next time I'm in PV but, will insist they keep my food in the oven longer before serving it to me. I had better see some brown scorch spots on the cheese, not just slightly melted cheese or it's going right back to the kitchen! By the way, they don't accept the American Express card. The first time I ate there I was very disappointed. My meal was not at all what I had ordered and it was so bad that I left it there. No one questioned why I left a whole plate of food, so I assumed it was a common thing to see there. Tried it again many, many months later as everyone said that they had their act together and they were correct. Great food, great service and a nice atmosphere. Chicken fajitas are amazing, chicken mole is amazing and ditto for the enchiladas, burritos, tacos nachos and everything else we have eaten there. So very glad we gave it another try. If you want authentic Mexican food in Prescott then this is the place to go. The fish tacos were great, the margaritas were top notch.

Food is excellent and the decor is great. Unfortunately service can be slight delayed and slight off putting for what is a local favorite.

I recently (like last night) had din din with my parental units at Casa Perez. Not a single picture of Selena on the wall but I forgive them. The food was good, alcohol was available and they served Pepsi instead of Coke. Easily 3 stars already. The drinks menu is about 6 pages deep so knock yourself out. My Dad ordered a beer that came in one of the those ginormous mugs. He also finished it which was impressive because he doesn't drink too much. My Mum ordered a drink I can't remember the name of but it came in this rad cup. I have provided a gnarly photograph. You're welcome. No alcohol for me. I had plenty the night before at the Justin Moore concert. But if I HAD to get a drink, I would get Dos XX in one of those ginormous mugs. Seriously, the mugs are huge. I stuffed my face with 2 baskets of chips and salsa before absolutely destroying the chicken Chimichanga with guacamole on the side. Absolutely no sour cream because ewwww. And no pico because of the onions. I KNOW the onions are mixed in and small but I can still taste them. Yuck. Free of sour cream and the onions in pico de gallo, my Chimichanga plate stood no chance. I don't remember what everyone else at my table ordered but it looked edible and delicious. Probs tacos. I seem to recall rice and beans as well. I'll try to pay more attention next time. Pretty good Mexican food. Carne asada was okay. Our server was a very young man who was very helpful and friendly. He did a great job and impressed all of us at the table. A little thing that bugged me was that I paid the bill with cash and left him a $20 tip (20%) however a lady (looked to be a manager/family member) picked up the cash, asked if I wanted change, I said no. We stayed finishing our drinks for a while and I never saw her give him his tip. I know all about shared tips and all that but next time I'm handing the tip right to server. read more

When I first saw this spot, I didn't think it would amount to much but as soon as I stepped in, boy was I wrong?! This place was packed and it smelled like yummy food! We were seated right away and our waiter treated us promptly. He was super nice and didn't rush us to order. The menu selection was large and so many good options. A dozen Arizona Trail Riders dirt bike club arrived for some well-deserved post-ride Mexican food after a trail ride near Lynx Lake. The restaurant was always good for traditional Mexican food with a little flare. We have enjoyed it for almost a decade whenever we trek up from Phoenix. Today was different and delightfully so. I had heard they remodeled and changed the name, but the improvements didn't end at superficial decor tweaks. Every recipe ordered by our dozen dirt bikers was transformed. They must have hired a very good chef who said, "This is how it is done." The food was taken to a higher level. Everyone cleaned their plates as they sipped a nice pitcher of margaritas and glasses of Negra Modelo. A ride mate and I ordered the Seven Mares seafood stew. Crab, clam, squid, octopus, shrimp, fish, scallops. The previous version was good. This new version was, well, it could not have been better. And what tied it all together was a broth with just enough zing to add character without detracting from the flavor. I purposely saved half so I could bring it home for later. Maybe during some Game of Thrones tonight. The food and decor improvements were complimented by the staff, which was always pleasant and attentive. Today, like the menu, it was at a higher level of both professionalism, friendliness, and energy. Not a water glass was left unfilled. I can only imagine that this reflects well on the management team that hires a team that takes such pride in their work. While this praise of staff is across the board, there was one stand-out among the staff. I didn't catch the name of the young lady in the French braid, but her demeanor was all-business, yet still engaging. She never stopped moving, doing everything from customer service to bussing tables to chasing down a patron in the parking lot who forgot his To-Go drink. I don't know her role in the organization (manager, waitress, busser, gopher), she did it all flowing from on task to the other, seamlessly. She is destined for success. Any employer would do well to haver her on their team. And if her co-workers are anywhere close to that, and they are, they'll follow her on the road to success. read more
