You will not be allowed to have additional guests even for a few hours, therefore it is very safe and private. I love the architecture which ranges from Mexican Baroque to traditional Spanish Colonial and the entire compound has cobblestone streets and cement walking paths. There are several little gardens of roses and other lovely flowers making this a great place to take walks and enjoy the scenery. The large pool/jacuzzi area has plenty of lounge chairs and shaded seating, a shuffleboard court, a gym, and a banquet room. There is also a large surfing beach with several sturdy palapas for all guests and owners to use. A visit to Las Gaviotas is certainly a treat. I love to relax, enjoy a good book followed by a leisurely walk, then swimming and a relaxing dinner when I visit.

I had to get into the shower and help my mom in as it's a tub with no way in except about 2 feet high and no rails to hold on to. We will definitely be back!!

Native Residence is at the top of a mountain, in a private gated community with lovely homes, so if you plan to walk, it's safe but know it's quite a hike. The views of the mountains, Pacific and Rosarito's Christ of the Sacred Heart statue are beautiful. Fortunately, Ubers are available if you don't have your own vehicle. The chalet is classy, has high quality materials, yet it was very comfortable. The lights were thoughtfully decorated and very tasteful. The scent of the bed linens were absolutely incredible. Our room offered fresh water, a small fridge, an espresso machine, a smart tv with projector, black out blinds and a private fire pit on our balcony. The three chalets have their own shared jacuzzi to use with ocean view and it was heavenly. They offer fresh breakfast à la cart on the upper shared patio or in your room. It has a very quaint community feel there yet you have your own space if you prefer it. Carlos and the ladies working there were very kind and helpful. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the ocean views were absolutely breathtaking. The suite itself was immaculate, beautifully designed, and the bed was so comfortable. I honestly can't remember the last time I slept that well! We also loved the shared kitchen, which created such a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was a highlight each morning with the chilaquiles and lavender pancakes were absolutely delicious, and having a nespresso machine in the room was the perfect added touch. We truly can't say enough great things about Native Residence. We loved our stay so much that while we were still there, our close friends booked the exact same suite for their anniversary next month! And just in case you're wondering, yes there's real grasshopper in the sauce, and we all ate grasshopper for the first time. It was basically like a spicy marmalade spread. Duck Breast + Orange Sauce & Burnt Onion Duck meat was tender and sauce paired well. Green Catch of the Day Ceviche + Persian Cucumber & Avocado The ceviche was delicioussss. I heard about this place, half winery, half farm-to-table-high end restaurant, with a touch of 'glamping resort' because I had seen the pictures in some glossy mags about how the rich and famous travel. No worries, if I could go and spend the day, you can do it too. Because you really don't need to fork the $400 per minimalist-repurposed materials-beauty meets form factor cute boxes on the rocks. You can just go for the drinks and the food and you make a nice day trip from San Diego. Looks like crossing from Tecate is the easiest and fastest way, at least on the way back. Encuentro used to be called Endemico, and I am glad they changed the name, as it denotes something negative. Something that neither the environment, not the fertile nature nor the grapes are. Wine is abundant and the fruits from the land too. The winery includes 11 acres of mountain vineyards, you will enjoy a wine tasting bar open to the public from 11 am every day and an underground cellar, for which you need to make a group reservation. The vineyards produce Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Blanc and Nebiolo, among other varietals. This is a very peaceful place to be and extremely photogenic, showing all the splendor of the Guadalupe Valley, making great panoramas. Although we were assured our late arrival wouldn't be an issue, we still waited for the experience to begin, and what was advertised as a two-hour winery experience lasted only about 35 minutes. The biggest disappointment was the complete loss of running water due to a broken pipe. We were told it would be restored within 2-3 hours, but we had no running water or working toilet for the entire night. The next morning, the shower only had cold water, and the toilet still would not flush. Someone was sent to our room just 15 minutes before checkout, which was far too late to resolve the issue. While I understand unexpected maintenance problems can happen, the lack of communication, inaccurate expectations, and failure to provide a timely solution or any effort to make things right made this a very disappointing experience. I hope management addresses these issues so future guests receive the level of service expected from a property like this. Mind you the was about 3 weeks ago now still waiting for someone to reach out like they promised they would for our money back or another choice we had was 2 night stay on them but of course I haven't heard back and I have reached out about 3x now
