I've been here twice and both times, the service and food were top notch. It's a cozy small place that fills up quickly during peak hours. The Margaritas were delicious and I'm picky about my Margs. I can't wait to go back. Wish it was closer to home.

First of all, the menus. Absolutely disgusting, the menu I received was caked in grime. It had some weird substance that looked like boogers. I put my menu down and asked for my grandmothers, it too had weird grime on it. Nasty. Secondly, the chips we received were stale, the salsa was great though. I ordered a Beef Quesadilla without beans, the rice that came with it was pretty good, but a little overcooked, solid 7/10. The Quesadilla itself, very crispy, an absurd amount of beef, and too little cheese. 6/10. The restaurant itself felt like a small step into Mexico, really nicely set up for the small space they had to work with, the waiters were all working very hard and being very friendly, one called me his "Amigo" lol. No complaints there. The tables were clean, however every table was absolutely plastered in sponsorships and ads, ruining the vibe of the place. Overall I had a somewhat enjoyable experience, despite immediately being disgusted upon opening my menu, it was good. I do wonder what their kitchen could possibly look like if thats what the menus looked like, probably very nasty. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this restaurant a max of 6 on a good day, however when I was there, it was a 5/10

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Waterloo. And, their salsa is my absolute favorite! The salsa: just the right amount of heat and it has a Smokey flavor. Plus, the amount of cilantro is perfect; not too much or too little. Consistency is also perfect! I usually get the shrimp tacos or the pollo con arroz. All of their street tacos are awesome. They're good sized tacos with good sides of beans or corn and rice. The pollo con arroz is excellent. It's rice with chicken and cheese sauce and vegetables. Love it! This place is always busy and for good reason. Great service, excellent food. It's fast. And the price is reasonable. You need to try it!

We have been here many times and have never been disappointed . No other Mexican restaurant holds a candle to this place this side of Pueblo Solis. The service is great, the restaurant is clean, the food always looks and tastes great. It's obvious that this restaurant still takes pride in their craft.

This is my family's premier go-to place for Mexican food in Waterloo. Jose is always a joy to see and I always look forward to him greeting us as his "friends". Try their steak tacos on corn tortillas. They are completely addicting and their margaritas are top notch. read more

Been here several times in the past, but last night took it to another level of bad service and bad ownership. Took my wife there for a birthday meal....10 minute wait so got a buzzer. After 30+ minute wait we went to the counter to inquire. Hostess checked and said our buzzer number was crossed off the list already and they had already seated 5-6 tables ahead of us due to this error. We were told by the manager, who also turned out to be the owner, that we would simply have to wait another 15-20 minutes. Not an apology, admittance of a mistake....nothing...pretty much wasn't concerned about it at all and we were an after-thought. Asked how they would make it right (most places will offer a free beverage, or at least an apology, etc)...we were rudely given a glare by the manager/owner and were told that "someone will be getting up and leaving soon....just wait." WOW!!!! That's the owner/manager and that's how customers are treated!!! Normally would have left but we were starving and stayed. It didn't get any better.. Finally got seated and orders taken. Waitress brought our food and never came back once to ask if everything was ok, need anything else, how the food was, etc....never saw her again. Had to go to counter to get my own leftover boxes, and then again to get our bill to pay, since that was not brought to us either by our absentee server. Overall experience was absolutely horrible and we won't be giving another penny to this owner! A simple apology and acting like he cared even a tiny bit would have went a long way, but that was WAY too much to ask from this guy. read more

The food is not good. The management was rude and confrontational when I told them my meal was bad. I was never offered anything else. Even though I did not eat the meal, Elmer Romero told me "you eat, you pay." Seriously, go to Tequillas or better yet, Mariachis in Millstadt read more

Just can't give a good review, even though the manager is very nice. Both times we tried the food there was a bad experience. Chicken was raw the first time, they tried to make it right so we thought we'd give them another chance, our second try they brought us food that we didn't even order. So we just ate it and paid and left. Figured that would just be the last visit. read more

OMG the food here is soooo good and super cheap. Every time I'm home I'm sure to stop by. My husband and I are vegetarians and they even have options (though you want to make sure to specify that you don't want ANY meat). It can get really crowded on weekends though , especially around dinner so make sure to plan ahead. read more

This place restored my faith in Mexican food! I moved to New Mexico several years ago and when I came back to the Midwest I was disappointed by the Mexican restaurant selections. This is the first place I found that has amazing authentic Mexican food. The staff is also very friendly. Felipe has gone home for a few months but we can't wait until he returns. The past few times that we have visited this restaurant were noteworthy and we had no issues. Last week our visit was very disappointing as the food seemed to lack the quality of food that we were used to. Beans and rice are cheap fillers however the main entrees had very little vegetables and meat. For the cost we will be dining elsewhere.
