Black spots on the beans are burnt ,

this place has been sold and the new owners are Silio restaurant and bakery . No longer Cuban opwnef by Colombians who cook Cuban food in their own style they have a lot of baked goods and pastries and even Dubai chocolate but it is not a Cuban restaurant a huge investment was made in the place almost as a show piece but the food in my opinion there's nothing to write home about. in fact the beans were burnt .

    Empanada de carne

A bustling Cuban cafe. Exceptional coffee. Good Latin pastries, and breakfasts, at prices that don't break the bank. The empanada de carne is fried. Not much magic to its rough filling, that was surely light on onion, or salt, or much of anything to flavor the filling. The toastada Cubana, toasted Cuban bread, is a simple, and authentic Joy of breakfast with a real cortadito that's strong, simple, and sweet. That upped the game. The breakfasts that I witnessed going by, and going down, were solid and plentiful eating. The wait staff was pleasant, and gracious. The dining room is humbly furnished, a melting pot of people, and cultures; of happy chatter, in multiple languages. One caffeination, indivisible, with Cubanos for all... To me, this place is emblematic of what America, and Florida, should be all about.

Service is ok. Their cafe con leche does not disappoint. Love their Desayuno Dominicano (Dominican Breakfast)! It is very filling, delicious, and fair-priced.

The BEST little Cuban gem in Royal Palm! The food was hot, delicious, and totally hit the spot. We are Cuban & it definitely got our stamp of approval. Loved the croquetas, pollo a La plancha, the bistec empanizado, and the Cubano sandwich. We will definitely be back! Service was fast & the restaurant was very clean. 10/10.

I am Puerto Rican and new to Florida. A friend suggested this wonderful place for breakfast. I was so excited to see the authentic toast, and the espresso is THE BEST I have had in a very long time anywhere!!! Service was excellent, very reasonable prices, everything was delicious. This will definitely be one of my new favorites. Highly recommend!!!

Chicken soup like your mom and grandma make!

This has been an institution in Royal Palm Beach for as long as I can remember. Over the years, it's been my pleasure to try some of their delicious food. I love their pastries. Their Cuban sandwiches are out of this world. And that chicken soup is divine! If you pass by it 1 million times and have yet to try it, I encourage you to do so. You will be glad you did.

Yummy cafe con leche while I work on the computer! (They don't have free WiFi I don't think, use your hotspot!)

This is my favorite coffee spot in all of royal palm, Wellington, and Loxahatchee! I grew up in S. Florida, so I've eaten at many Cuban spots, and Casa Santiago has the best breakfast sandwiches, Cuban bread and cafe con leche! It's the hole in the wall, local spot that you must try out! Lunch servings are large, their Cuban sandwiches are delicious, and you will leave with a full and happy stomach!

Besides the awful communication which led to them making us an extra 7 sandwiches, the food is dry ans lacking flavor.

The server was great as he did recognize my mom who as been here several times. He took everyone's orders and brought the drinks and bread to the table. It was actually a quick turn around to have it brought to us. It was early before dinner rush and the World Cup was also starting as we were eating. I had the ropa vieja with yellow rice, black beans and plantains it was juicy and a good portion that I couldn't finish it. My mom had fish yuca and plantains as well as my sister . My brother in-law had pork chunks rice and beans and plantains, his sister had the pull pork and brother had chicken. We all had the flan for dessert and the staff brought one with whip cream and a candle to sing Feliz cumplanos to him . The also had cafe con lexhe a large portion . I am not a coffee drinker but it looks delicious . The have been voted as a top restaurant and offer catering services . They are located in a plaza near the mall and there was ample parking .

I will say they could use a little better lighting, as the place does look a bit dated, but maybe that's the look they're going for. I've heard this restaurant has been here for about two years, and somehow we didn't know about it until a few weeks ago. Onto the main dishes! I had the Vaca Frita with white rice, black beans, and maduros, and everything was packed with great flavor. My wife had the Birria Tacos, and she said they were excellent. Of course, I had to try the consomme and what a mistake... because now I'm hooked line and sinker. It was so packed with flavor that I even started dipping my Vaca Frita in it. This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, and I mean that in the best possible way. Don't miss out on it! I've seen some people complaining about the gratuity already being included on the check. Stop whining and tip what you should. If you have a problem with tipping, don't go out to eat at a restaurant with waitress service. The additional tip option at the bottom of the receipt is simply there for those who want to leave the full 20% or more. If you don't feel they deserve anything extra, then leave it as is. We will definitely be coming back. The scary part is just how local and convenient this place is. Ha!

However, I know from traveling that some of the best spots are ones that appear to be a hole in the wall. I walked in, very cute inside! Staff was welcoming and I cozied right up at the bar to wait for my friend. I was immediately brought chips and salsa and a cold beer. We ended up sitting at a high top and our waitress suggested that I try either carne asada from the Mexican menu or Vaca Frita from the Cuban menu. I love me some carne asada but I was intrigued but this 'fried shredded beef' that was marinated in mole and cooked in a hot skillet until crispy. She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. However, the first one she ordered (pictured) which was a different flavor was a show stopper.
