We had empanadas appetizers and banana chips. we shared Puerco Assado. with rice beans and fried bananas ( sweet). And a cuban sandwich. each of the meals was very shareable, and we enjoyed the evening with some nice spanish music, playing in the background piped in. the servers were excellent there and they couldn't do enough to make sure we were happy with our meal. one of those great little cuban places in the middle of Wellington just outside the mall. completely forgot to take pictures. This review pertains to the Military Trail Location- Tonight, the servers were more interested in each other and were too busy looking down at their phones than in serving their customers. I have eaten at this restaurant twice before in the past few weeks, the food and service were good. I don't know why the service was so terrible tonight. The food lacked flavor, and the sides were barely warm. We had to ask for drink refills, we had to ask the hostess for our check. Yet there were three people standing around the hostess station, three more were standing by the bar, and three or four were on the opposite side of the restaurant. How can you not notice when someone needs a refill or when they are finished eating? You were less than five feet away with one job to do! read more

Was looking for a Cuban restaurant once I landed into PBI airport and this was the closest I could find. Food was fabulous and worth our hour wait for it. The aguacate was ripe and fresh, the tamales with pork were so tasty(normally I don't eat pork or like tamales but this one was great), the chicken empanizado had such great flavor(it's difficult to not have to need lime with this dish), and the camarones enchilados were cooked to perfection. The flan was fine, but it did the job. The cafecitos were 10/10. I only took off a star because our server wasn't very friendly and didn't serve us on a timely manner. We waited over 45 min for our food without him checking on us during that time. Ultimately, this is a casual restaurant if you're feeling for some authentic Cuban food. Cuban food galore. You're served complimentary Cuban bread with a garlic butter spread on it for the table which is addicting to say the least. I enjoyed the Vaca Frita with white rice, black beans, and plantains. I also got masitas de credo which is fries Cuban fried pork which was amazing. Service was prompt and steady. I debated whether or not to write a review after visiting this restaurant for the umpteenth time but after year another 5 star visit - I thought I would. This time, I brought a couple of first timers who are very picky about their Cuban food experiences. The result was - superb! The food quality, taste and quantity was outstanding as always. There was a piano player in the bar area who was a perfect addition and did not take away from the authentic ambiance. Oh - and the Margaritas - some of the best I've had. I grabbed two of my colleagues and we headed off to lunch. Once again it was a good choice and I will be back when I am in the area. Service was really good. **TLDR: We both got Food poisoning** I usually love this location, it's the best in West Palm, and I usually get very attentive and nice servers. However, this time, we got a server, Henry, who was very rude and had to be told multiple times to come to our table as he was busy talking with other servers. Didn't bring any bread. We had to ask for it. And it ended up coming out with our food. I get the exact same meal every time I come here. The baby churrasco. I have a picture from when I got it the last time and it was a perfect. This time, not only was it very very tiny, but it had a hole in it? Like the steak was literally an inch and a half width at the end and had a giant hole in it and was wayyyyy overcooked. I tried to tell the server, Henry, who I had to wave down, and I showed him a pic of what I got the week prior and what it always looks like, and he kept saying "you want bigger steak?" Acting like he wasn't understanding what I was saying. I kept telling him I order this every week, and it isn't this tiny or with a hole in it, showed the picture of what I got the week prior, but he wasn't listening so he took it away. Kept telling us he serves this every day. We got another one and he upgraded us to the normal churrasco? Which I didn't ask for and he acted like he did us a favor? Then told us next time we want a bigger steak to order the full size. This was not what I wanted, but I ate it and paid regardless. Both me and my partner have had food poisoning since Sunday, August 10th. It's now Tuesday August 12th. I will never be going back to this location after this. I really feel like they messed with our food to be spiteful. If you get this server, Henry, watch out. Guy has a nasty attitude for no reason and will probably have someone mess with your food. Based on the reviews, we selected this spot to try for dinner. It turned out to be excellent. We each ordered a variety of different items. And we liked all of them -- a feat in itself. We had their: shrimp cocktail, chicken soup, ham and cheese croquettas, addictive Cuban bread, perfectly fried tostones, sweet plantains, masas de puercos (nice fried chunks), roast pork (lechon asado) which was tender and flavorful, the white rice, and the yellow rice. For dessert, we had their (caramel) flan. I'm not a person who likes the type of flan that is like cheesecake or a hard wedge. This was soft and pudding like and had "lick the plate" caramel sauce. With amazing price points, their food is packed with flavor. They have a few locations but this location is located across HHGregg on Military. They have a large parking lot so parking is easy to find. The staff is usually a hit / miss on speaking English but the experience and food is definitely authentic. We have tried a few items at Don Ramon but I am usually ordering their fish or churassco with white rice / black beans. I have also taken advantage of their lunch specials before.
