We've. Even coming here since it first opened. We were worried about the change in ownership and had heard all bad things. We finally decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. The new warm salsa is so very good. Many of the same servers and bartenders are still here. Ugh. We haven't been in a few months and something is way off..... order a standard combo taco , enchilada, tamale. The plate came w lots of liquid on the plate watery.... The menu from the original has now been blended with the new menu, giving patrons more familiar choices than when it first changed. Well very disappointing! We went Sat to have what was amazing Mexican food n it was not good! So their's been a change! The food was not good n service was slow! It wasn't the waitress fault! Been here with my folks and my kids on separate occasions and fantastic experiences each time. Beef fajitas are some of the most tender skirt steak I've experienced. Very good flavor. Good Margs good fajitas good service what more you need. Not super busy and friendly waitresses/waiters. Also had the fish tacos. Also excellent mahi mahi was big portions and cooked very well. My husband and I have been talking about eating here for a while, and today we finally did. The Casamia (White) Queso was amazing. I was almost disappointed that we got a small order, instead of the large, but I did want to be able to eat my meal. I had the Brisket Tacos. They were delicious. I also like that black beans are an option. My husband had Tamales. He was able to get one chicken and one pork, which was nice so we could try both. They were very good. I asked what cut off meat is was and he said fajita cut. Basic and Good Since moving to Denton County I have been looking for just a basic, good Mexican restaurant. Something with a good chips and salsa, and with all of the favorites you expect done well. I think I have found it in CasaMia. Ambiance is basic at best, service is to the point and the food is just good. When they say spicy they mean spicy but not overpowering. I had the Spicy Enchiladas, and my wife had the brisket tacos. We both like them a lot. We also each had a rink, her a Sangria and me a margarita swirl. The one disappointment was the white queso which was very bland. Saw lots of things going to other tables that we will be trying from this extensive menu. Puffed tacos perhaps. For a family Mexican meal or just casual couples and friends, this looks like a place we will visit often. read more

We wanted to try somewhere new and close to home so we gave this place a try. The atmosphere is nice and it's a quaint little place . The food is ok , nothing to write home about and nothing that that stands out. The service ,although friendly, was dismal. From the time we sat down and ordered , with the exception of bringing our order, until we got our bill, we were never checked on once! We were never offered a refill on our beer or the Diet Coke, never mind just asking how we are doing. Furthermore, when we ordered I asked for extra sauce and that was completely forgotten. There were only three tables occupied in the whole restaurant so it's not like she was swamped. Unacceptable. Placed a pickup order online tonight and received a confirmation email at 6:47 pm. Around 7:42 we still hadn't received an email or text notifying us that it was ready, so we called. The person on the phone said that it had been ready for a long time and she didn't know why we didn't get an email. I went to pick it up. When I arrived the food was sitting out on a table. A friendly waitress gave it to me and it felt cold. I asked her if we were supposed to have received a confirmation that the food was ready, and she said she didn't know, she could ask her manager. The manager came out and I showed him the emails and texts with the times on them to show we hadn't received any confirmation... I told him the food might be cold. He asked me to show him the times again, then told me the food had only been ready for about 5 minutes. I don't usually write bad reviews about most bad food experiences, but I really didn't like that he lied to me. He clearly just didn't want to deal with me. The food was cold, and was not very good. this restaurant has recently changed to called de Mexico...this is a mexican food restaurant and you can't even get salsa and chips any more....out of chardonnay..we were told no crispy shells for tacos any more. the beer was light, no chips unless you order an appetizer. The food was plain, and not good. we got chicken nachos and they were tasteless and inedible. There were 5 other tables of folks...each one asked for an item that was no longer available. Five stars for food and service. CasaMia is a small, non chain, local Mexican food restaurant with a good, welcoming atmosphere. We were instantly greeted and seated at 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded which is nice because it's not a huge place. Frozen Margaritas are excellent on a hot summer day. Guacamole is fresh but needed a little salt. Salsa is good and fresh, a tad on the spicy side. The chips are good, fresh and crispy. Fajitas were excellent and tender! Beef enchiladas were good. Personally not a chipotle flavored fan so would get different sauce next time but overall good. The charro beans were tasty but a little on the spicy side for my wimpy self. Yum Steak Street tacos. The meat was so tender and juicy. My friend had their steak burrito and said the same thing about the meat. Grilled shrimp tacos were wonderful as well. Loaded with shrimp and it was light. Another friend had chicken burrito and could not believe he finished the entire plate. I love that it wasn't another chain or super commercialized. SMH...in a state where there is excellent Mexican food basically on every corner, CasaMia underperforms. We were in the area, and it was dinner time. We saw CasaMia from the road and thought it was the El Salvordorian Casa Mia in Lewisville...well, we were wrong, but figured hey we always love Mexican. There was zero service--we had to ask a waiter to come to our table. We ordered skinny margaritas, and they were so sweet that we questioned of whether they were really skinny. The chips are fine but the salsa is nothing special. I ordered the tamale/enchilada combo. It was the worst tamale I have ever had. I couldn't finish it as it was all masa and almost no meat. The enchilada were edible but nothing special. My wife had the stuffed poblano pepper and said it wasn't edible. The waitress noticed that we barely touched our food and asked if we wanted to go containers, and we said no. I could tell that she knew we didn't like the food. Because everything was poor quality and lacking taste, we just decided to leave and not revisit. I've seen that some of my fellow elite reviewers have given it 5 stars, and I don't get it....everyone has a bad night, so maybe we were there on that night. I can't really recommend this restaurant if you enjoy good Mexican food (or just good food in general). We went on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. That should have been our first red flag. On the positive side - we got our food quickly. On the down side - the chips were straight from a Tostito's bag, the taco meat had no seasoning, and the "brisket" chimichanga would be more accurately described as a "pot roast" chimichanga. Passing pot roast off as brisket, by itself, is enough to disqualify this restaurant from consideration by anyone with even the most basic standards or a sliver of self-respect. As a bonus - it was also very over priced. Do yourself a favor and stay home with a bag of Great Value chips and a bowl of Velveeta next time. First time here. Was excited to have a Mexican restaurant so close to home. Chicken Chili Reyeno was great. The sour cream sauce was also top notch. Others in my group order chicken fajitas - worst ever. When we called the waiter back over to discuss how dry and over cooked he said - that looks burnt.... why did he serve it to us if it was burnt. Also disappointing to be served orange American cheddar on the side of a Mexican meal. Why not a true Mexican cheese. The spicy chicken enchilada was ok but not so spicy. The salsa was mild. Maybe they can fix a few things over the next few months and get some traditional Mexican ingredients to fix up the food. I expected more than Taco Bell when we drove up. Sad to see such low ratings on a band New Mexican place close to home. Waiter staff also lack manners, courtesy and training. Have had much better service from fast food chain staff. We order flour tortillas to have with our queso that never came, but we had to have it taken off the bill. Just not attentive. Food is very obviously not made to order and sits in the back in warning bins. None of our food was hot to the touch when it hit the table. I'm pretty sure this is a food service violation.
