This place is a joke. I would never ever refer anyone to Cascade. Like other reviewers, my appointment was rescheduled 4 different times and notice was sent to me AFTER the office closed so I couldn't contact them about it. They ignored my messages and continued to simply change my appointment saying some providers had left, their schedules were unexpectedly full, the clinic nearby could no longer see me etc. I have saved all of those messages from them so that when I talk to my insurance company it is very clear about what is happening here. I wish they'd just told me at the very beginning that they couldn't see me and I would have simply gone elsewhere. Save yourself the stress and avoid this group. read more

I can't say enough good things about Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, both the Puyallup and University Place locations were phenomenal to work with. I was dealing with a scary issue involving my eye and vision, and they both got me in right away. I accidentally put the wrong location into my GPS and ended up at the University Place office instead of Puyallup. When I checked in and realized the mistake, I was expecting to have to reschedule. But because they had already marked me as an emergency, the staff at University Place went above and beyond. They welcomed me with kindness, fit me into their schedule on the spot, and even called the other office to let them know what happened. I was in and out quickly, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had at any medical facility. I would not recommend this place for a doctor's appointment. I have an eye condition that requires an annual glaucoma checkup. My insurance claim was denied because the doctor determined I don't have glaucoma, so they billed the visit as a routine vision exam. However, they don't accept the UHC Vision plan, and no one informed me of this when I mentioned my insurance at the front desk. This lack of communication led to unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. read more

I would not recommend this place for a pediatric appointment. We got a referral for our baby to get something looked at. We saw Dr. Brockman. The first problem we had is my husband and I both went to the appointment. I had taken the day off so I could accompany them and we could both talk to the doctor about our concerns. Upon check-in, the receptionist told us that the doctor only allows one parent in the back. I wish we would have known prior to our appointment. I wish they would've told us when we made the appointment so that we could plan accordingly. They stated that there was no room because the doctor, technician, would be in there, and there would not be enough room. We have been to multiple places where both my husband and I had been able to go in the back and it was no problem. The second problem is they only had the stand up adult scale. My son stood on it and fell off. It's not intended for Littles. Lastly, when my son was getting examined, the doctor was so quick to just dismiss the issue. It wasn't until my husband asked further questions that the doctor was able to slow down and thoroughly explain to us. Overall.. it was a quick in and out appointment. I am glad we went but would recommend somewhere else for pediatric care. read more

There is a reason there are so many bad reviews for this place. The leadership is beyond terrible. I had an argument with the Practice Administrator because they were so terrible there. The leadership in this place is why they have so many bad reviews. I also saw a MD here who literally said "I could make a lot of money off of you" and laughed. I starred at her and she realized what she'd said. I wasn't sure if she was trying to say I was really ugly or really vain...either way I did not go back. I think this echoed another review who said they were disrespectful. Moreover, once i had a wart removed here on my leg, they had the MA's doing the cryo spray...I wasn't paying for a MA to do anything. Of course the MA did it a bit too much and I had a small "scar" (hyperpigmentation) that I had to treat. I was able to resolve it but it took about 6 months of home treatment that may not have been necessary had someone with actual training administered the treatment. It was my fault for allowing the MA to proceed but ... I'd taken the time to come to the apt and wanted it done. I shouldn't have been convenience above my own care - i should have refused treatment by a unskilled assistant (MA's have only a few months of training - NEVER let a MA provide treatment...some places even have them do injections...it's all easy until they screw it up ... I'm a RN) I also can vouch for the review that said they limit the family in the room. They only do this for their own convenience. I wanted my husband and my twin 17yr girls to come in with me, just because as a parent I feel it's rude to leave your kids unattended, even when they are 17 - they pitched a fit. I let my girls stay out but then I saw another mom and dad literally start yelling at the MA because they refused to let them both come back with their kid, who was around 5 or 6. This is terrible. Why can only one parent be there when the child is examined? What if one parent is needed to calm the child then they are distracted and can't focus on question? That is just terrible to try to separate parents and kids for a medical exam just for their own selfish reasons. The pandemic is long over...they are just terrible people here. Why can't both parents talk to their child's doctor about an issue? Why on earth do they think that is okay? I'd avoid this place. Make the drive up to find a better provider. This is your money and your time and most of all, your health. read more

After wearing glasses for 55+ years, this near-sighted old gal had double cataract surgery and now I no longer need glasses for distance and have 20-20 vision! An alarming thing happened to me at their Mother's Day event on May 13, 2023 at University Place. They had an event for $150 admission fee. You could select one injection of Dysport or skincare. So I selected the Dysport injection. Dr Tara Oetken did my injection at the event. When done I was told to check-out. So at check-out, I was alarmed when the cosmetic manager named Tiffany Ramberg told me I owed $288.00! Wait, WHAT?!? I was so shocked and surprised being told I owed an additional amount on top of the $150.00 I had already paid. Apparently, Dr Oetken injected an additional syringe of Dysport in my face without my knowledge or consent. I was only expecting the one syringe that I pre-paid. I objected to being charged additional, I advised I didn't give consent to anything additional, nothing was ever discussed about additional services, no cost was ever mentioned...nothing. Had anything like this happened to anyone else? I spoke to the CEO Amber Gilroy directly at the event who assured me it would be taken care of. Yes there was even a witness to this conversation. To no avail my efforts to fight this additional charge were dismissed and overridden by Tiffany Ramberg. The CEO has zero influence on anyone or anything in this company. I feel like I have am being called a liar for trying to dispute this surprise additional charge. It has been weeks of fighting this charge, phone calls, emails, etc... Tiffany is not budging on something I feel is THEIR mistake, not mine. What started out as a fun event to celebrate mothers, has turned into a financial nightmare. I will never attend another special event there because they will take any opportunity to screw you over with additional charges. So I will take any opportunity to share my story with others in order to prevent it happening to them. Sounds like a scam to me. Did this happen to anyone else who attended this event? read more

We had to jump through hoops and fight insurance for nearly 6 months to get approved for an appointment for our daughter, we were told by an allergy clinic that she needed a patch test done by a dermatologist. The PA spent less than 5 minutes with her and gave her "helpful tips" that a google search could have given us to prevent the problem rash. HUGE waste of time read more

The doctor was good, but the billing process is full of lies. If you conduct a visit for a online through the health lens platform they bill you immediately for $75-$100. What they don't tell you is they secretly go and bill your insurance for more and if your insurance rejects you still owe them hundreds of dollars. Their excuse it was some where in the patient agreement. The true cost of these visits is $200+ if you have a high deductible plan. This is a very manipulative billing practice and should be made clear directly on the website payment screen PRIOR TO appointment scheduling. read more

I went there for cataract surgery Dr Dahlhauser ruined n my left eye really really bad When I told him of my problems with my eye he said... Oh... It goid enuf to oass yer driver eye test and wanted to schedule my right eye to be destroyed At this point i wiuld be happier with a fake left glass eye.... NOT joking The guy may have been a good doc years ago but now has dementia and i noticed his nurse has to hand him tools out of his drawer he cant find, the guys mind is lost and should NOT be practicing anymore. I went to my ear doctor and nentioned it and she said he destroyed her young boys eye also He needs to be put out to pasture before Cascade Eye and Skin get several lawsuits read more

Skin Cancer Removal for both my father and I. We couldn't speak highly enough of this location and staff. The office is very clean, organized and well staffed. The doctor and their assistants are top notch. Very professional but warm and calming. My father has had the procedure done before, he's 88 but it was my first time, a bit nervous, the ladies did a great job chit chatting with me so I wouldn't focus on the procedure. I will continue to recommend people to the Sunrise location. read more

Beware of Billing*** I usually do not take my time to make bad reviews. (Generally if I take time out of my day I'd like to focus on the positive )however something's need to be discussed. Prior to booking my appt I verified my insurance was covered for the exam, (I contacted my insurance company also ) I checked in, gave them insurance information ONCE again and proceeded with appt. About a month later I received a "self pay" bill stating my insurance DID not cover the routine visit ? And I was obligated to pay for the exam in full price. Please have your office do their due diligence in regard to insurance verification. I have worked in med field and this should not have happened. Three different opportunities between scheduling, verification and check in to advise I would be self pay. Front office was not friendly. I understand customer service can be challenging but a friendly demeanor goes a long way. read more

After being a patient, both in dermatology and ophthalmology for several decades I have totally lost faith in Cascade dermatologists. Since Barbara Fox left things have gone to hell in a hand basket! I made an appointment for removal of several seborrheic keratosis and was told I needed to make a second appointment in order to have them removed. However, I will not return after being told by the snotty, young woman doctor: "what did you expect....YOU'RE OLD!!" Yes...I'm old (79) but at least I'm not rude! read more

Don't go here for Botox or Dysport. They sell them by the syringe, so you don't know what you're getting or how diluted they make it. I usually go to a different place in Puyallup where they draw it up right in front of you, which is HOW IT SHOULD BE. I only went because they had a special. If you need touch-ups they charge for that, whereas my usual place doesn't. That's what I get for straying from my usual place. I'm an RN so I will not be recommending this place to any of my patients. EDIT: Thank you for responding. I did not see any results in my eye area and slight results in the forehead. The person who I usually go to is a nurse injector and worked at Cascade at one time and told me how the syringes were made. I didn't want to come back and pay again whereas the place I go to will fix it for free if the client is not happy. I had asked the doctor to do a lot so my face would have little movement. I've had Dysport before and know it works by my eyes have full movement. So going back to pay for something that may or may not work wasn't feasible. I had one really good experience with an NP. This past experience I could feel a lot leaked out and I was bleeding where vessels were hit. read more
