We purchased a Kawasaki ATV at a "motosports sales center" in Hillsboro OR last year and it…read moreconsistently suffered from backfiring and difficulties starting. We took it back for repairs and they told us that it was "bad gas" and they said they drained the fuel tank and refilled it with new higher octane gasoline. The backfiring continued until one day it just wouldn't start at all. I also drained the tank myself and refilled it with a new tank of high octane fuel but to no avail. Because Hillsboro is pretty distant and I wasn't very impressed by their service department's failure to fix the problem that had been plaguing the machine since purchase, I decided to take it to Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Motorcycles for service. Dalton, the service representative I initially contacted and worked with throughout the service visit was very personable and great to deal with. He was honest about the delays in service due to the high demand season and large number of recreational vehicles needing repair. After drop-off, Dalton kept in contact with updates on the service schedule and called promptly when the repair was finished. Because the repair took less time than the normal 2 hour mechanic's assessment period I was actually charged less than the normal minimum fee I was quoted at the onset. The ATV was clean and had been washed prior to my arrival. I was urged to give it a good test drive to insure there were no residual issues before loading it up to bring home. The ATV started right up, ran smoothly and I was able to drive it right up into the bed of my pickup truck using their convenient loading ramp/platform in the parking lot. Overall, I was very satisfied by the service and professionalism demonstrated by the staff at Beaverton Motorcycles and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for ATV repairs.

It seems like they make this claim all the time. There are a bunch of people they're pretending not to know on Facebook who gave reviews too. What's more impressive is that they didn't even try to email me like Colleen claims in her yelp rebuttal. She just went straight to claiming I wouldn't reply to her (imaginary) attempts. This is a smoke and mirrors shop. These people are the worst! Previous Review: I took my car here for some small body work, Steve doesn't know how to weld!!! He can slop it on so it sticks together barely though. Then he grinds the heck out of it. My side panels are now paper thin and I can push them in with one finger. What kills me is that this was supposed to be a quick job and I had minimal rust. It took over two months for a 8 inch repair/patch. I don't know how these people are still in business. When I asked them about the work they refused to comment on it and said I didn't know what I was talking about. Customer service here is a joke unless you're actively paying them money. As soon as you're done paying, they're done. No warranty whatsoever or responsibility for their work. If you've had a bad experience please write a review. I was just informed that they are actively trying to censor bad reviews on other sites. From my terrible experience I can only imagine that any good reviews either aren't real or are contrived.

I am a life long Biker and do most of my own wrenching. I'm mostly a Harley guy but I've always…read morehad a metric or two in the garage. I would have never known this place existed if I hadn't ordered a tire online and the seller had a note that shipping was free if I did a will call at Cycle Gear. OK... they are just a couple of miles away so why not. So looking at the place I figured it was mostly targeted at relatively new riders who were looking for helmets and other rider gear. And they certainly have racks of that stuff. Talking to one of the guys at the desk I inquired about rotor upgrades and he said, "sure!". Pulled out a catalog and showed me a few choices that would fit my bike. This fellow was clearly more knowledgeable than those guys at a parts store. You know the type. What year, model, engine size, color, blah, blah, blah so that they can figure out what windshield wiper will fit. And inevitably hand you a part that DOESN'T fit. So in chatting I find out they will install tires if you bring in the wheel. Install and balance for a pretty reasonable price. I see that at least one Yelper complained that the store manager would not allow him to watch the process which could be a problem for me. That's my life we're talking about. I do my own work or I watch whoever is doing the work to be sure it's done correctly. If that's going to be a problem for them I will be forced to update this review. But for now, my experience with Cycle Gear has been 100% positive. Great prices. Great staff. Easy to get to. Lots of parking. I haven't looked over their inventory closely but I suspect that most repair and maintenance items will need to be ordered which is usually not a problem for me. I buy pretty much nothing at the dealerships and, in fact, the dealerships usually don't have what I need in stock anyway. So I can buy for less online. Not that it's a big deal for my purposes but Cycle Gear is more geared to sport bike riders and not Harleys. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing most of the gear they have on the rack. No judgments and no minus stars. CG knows their market and their model seems to be working for them. I'm just happy to have a resource to have tires installed and also purchase parts from. Very glad they are so close by!
