Cascades Amphitheater is a really nice outdoor venue, and I've enjoyed the shows I've seen here. The bathrooms are impressively clean for a place like this, which I really appreciate. I also like that they offer more than just alcohol--having options like Liquid Death is a big plus. That said, the food could be better. The pretzels I tried were overpriced and unfortunately stale, so I wouldn't recommend them. Also, the sound quality on the lawn isn't the best; the speakers there make it harder to enjoy the show compared to the seated sections. In my opinion, it's worth trying to get a seat if you want the best experience. Overall though, it's a good venue with a lot of potential, and I do enjoy coming here for live music. read more

Been coming here for years and mostly the concerts have been good. There was the one time it was a complete mud pit and I watched people fall & get covered in mud (probably should have canceled the show since the venue really wasn't acceptable. Then there was the time the audio was the worst thing I've ever heard at a show before. Whether you have seats or are on the lawn there will be things blocking your view but they do a pretty good job of getting good shots on the giant screens. Parking is always frustrating because it's never the same way twice. They're there for every car to get parked but until you get to the street they don't help you get out. Usually it's not the worst, but have been stuck with literally no cars around being able to move for over an hour. I see now that they're renting chairs or whatever for the lawn - I can see how this would be useful to some people. Bathrooms are usually pretty decent. Not a fan of the changes to the food/drinks though. Used to have space in the middle where you could get condiments, napkins etc but nowhere in site and they don't give you napkins at most of the vendors. They had these cute little mixed drinks shots but require you to take it there - no thank you. Beer and such that used to be on tap is now just cans but they expect huge tips and the price is just as high. Cocktails aren't just expensive, but not very tasty either. Not impressed with the food options. Used to have delicious things like pulled pork nachos but now the menu is just awful. Used to plan to eat there but now I never will again. I did get nachos and what was weird was I asked if she could make them without the flaming hot Cheetos and she said she had to put them on. Okay, so you're about to step away for several minutes to put together my nachos but you insist you have to include an ingredient that you clearly don't have to. Then she forgets toppings like corn, which is the main thing since there is no meat option. You have to pay more for cheese and not only are they very small, but very little toppings. You have to get an bracelet for over 21 but then some of the vendors want you to dig your ID back out so they can check it. Defeats the entire point of the wristband and you're holding up the line, not that I think any of these people really know what they're doing when they check it anyway. The price gouging at the amphitheater was astounding. It cost $29 for the cheapest beer available. I went to the world cup in Seattle and a draft beer was $17. The venue sent multiple messages out telling people to arrive at 4pm for a 7pm show to trap people in there to try to force people to pay the obscene food prices. This is MY first time here, but my brother and partner go to concerts in the area often. If you ask them, it's one of the best. You will need to do a bit of walking no matter where you park. Even the close lots require a bit of hoofing it, but in my opinion not worse than a fair or festival. For pricing of food, it isn't horrible. Much of the food is even a bit cheaper than other venues. If you get the commemorative cup soda you get free refills, which rocks especially on a hot day. Speaking of hot day, if you're going to a summer concert bring a water bottle and wear light layers. We were in the front and it was SO HOT! Luckily, there were plenty of places to get water. I'm not a huge concert person, but I wouldn't mind going here again if someone I like was playing. read more

Saw Hozier last night, first time seeing a show at RV Inn Style Resorts Amphitheater. Getting in and getting out- complete nightmare. Traffic backs up all along the I-5 trying to get in- you inch along. Parking lots everywhere, but you are directed where to park. It's one way in, one way out. Show was great- seating in the 200s was fantastic. A margarita -$24 - pretty sure had no tequila, minimal at best- way overpriced. Now leaving- wow- just wow. We left during the last song to avoid crowds- took us 2 hours to get out- 2 hours!!! It was a nightmare. Likely the last show we will see here. We live in Washington state- we have the best of the best artists come throughout many venues- avoid this venue!! read more

I'll start with the positives, as there are a scant few things the venue does well. The place is clean, and the sound quality for the artists is excellent. The performers themselves were fantastic, which is a big reason we went. They also have a free water refilling station, which is a nice touch and much appreciated. The staff, for the most part, are friendly teenagers who don't know what the deuce they are doing, but try to be helpful (though they're clearly limited by the venue's policies). That said, our experience at this amphitheater was incredibly disappointing, especially compared to past visits. I used to love coming here for shows, but this time was a far cry from those enjoyable days. We arrived early, but parking was a nightmare. We were stuck in a distant lot with no clear signage or assistance for accessibility needs. My husband is not "disabled" but does have mobility issues, where he is unable to walk long distances due to a knee injury. There is no infrastructure to help--no shuttles and no clear directions for accessible parking (which apparently costs extra anyway). The long walk to the venue was grueling for him, and completely avoidable with better planning. Once we got to the entrance, we were hit with a barrage of restrictive rules. Gone are the days when you could bring lawn chairs or a reasonably sized bag. Now, bags must be clear and smaller than 12x6x12 inches. Anything else? You're forced to check it for $10 and then pay another $20 for a clear bag if you want to bring your stuff inside. Oh, and forget bringing your own lawn chairs--they're banned too. Conveniently, the venue rents chairs for $20 each. It feels like a blatant cash grab. And the price gouging doesn't stop there. Food items were outrageously priced at $17-$20, and cocktails were a staggering $24-$28. It's hard to enjoy a show when you feel like you're being fleeced at every turn. The bag check process was so slow that, despite arriving nearly an hour early, we missed the start of the opening act. That set a sour tone for the evening. By the time we settled in, we were so frustrated that it took most of the performance to even start enjoying ourselves. The seating was another major issue. The chairs are tiny, cramped, and incredibly uncomfortable, even for someone of average size. It made relaxing during the show nearly impossible. The bathroom situation was just as bad. The line for the restroom stretched what felt like forever--easily 20 yards long. Some of the men in our group ended up avoiding it entirely and resorting to the bushes near our car after the show. Keep in mind, we needed the bathroom when we arrived, but the wait was so ridiculous we gave up. Leaving was its own ordeal. My husband (the one with mobility issues) struggled to make it back to the car. We asked staff about getting a golf cart or some assistance, and while the youths seemed willing to help, the chaotic parking lot setup made it impossible. The traffic flow was so poorly organized that we couldn't even drive up to pick up my group, forcing my husband to endure a painful walk. Unless there's an absolute must-see artist I can't catch elsewhere, I won't be back to Cascades Amphitheater (or whatever they are calling it this week). I just want to start by highlighting the good before I go there... The venue's clean The sound and artists are great They have a free water refilling station that's actually really nice Employees are friendly and pretty helpful within the parameters they have to work with There was a time I really enjoyed going to this amphitheater. I've been to MANY shows there in the past and always had a great experience. However, that is definitely not the case now... We arrived early. We parked way far out and one of us is disabled. I thought there might be some infrastructure for handling this. There isn't. Aside from some "ADA parking" that we didn't even know about and you have to pay more for, as far as I know. After the painstaking trek to get to the venue. We were met with their massive list of rules. In the past, we were always allowed to bring lawn chairs, bags with various stuff to enjoy the show. That's not the case anymore. You're not allowed to bring bags if they're beyond certain dimensions (12x6x12 if I remember right) and they have to be clear. Just like typical arenas these days. You're also not allowed to bring your own lawn chairs anymore. You have to check both those and any bags that don't fit their "criteria" and pay $10 to check them in (and then turn around and pay $10 each for a clear bag if you want to enter with the stuff you brought) Did I mention that right inside the venue they have chairs you can rent for $20? Gimme a break. The bag check took so long that we ended up missing the beginning of the first artist (keep in mind that we arrived EARLY) The price gouging doesn't end there. Many of the food items are in the $17-$20 range and if you want cocktails. Those will cost you $24-$28. We were so pissed off by the time we got to our seats that it took probably over half the show before we even started enjoying what we were there to see. The wait for the bathroom is ridiculous too. The line for the men's room extended probably a good 20 YARDS. I and the other gentlemen ended up peeing in the bushes near our car when we left. Keep in mind that we had to go to the bathroom when we ARRIVED. My friend (the disabled one) was hobbling when we left the venue and I asked the traffic guys if we could get a golf cart or something to get us. They tried really hard to get it to happen, but it was insanely busy trying to get the patrons out of the parking lots and there was no way. Traffic flow was also setup in such a way to where I couldn't go get the car and pick the rest of my party up to avoid my friend having to walk all the way back to the car. Unless there's a bucketlist artist that I won't be able to see again, otherwise. I WON'T be returning to Cascades (or whatever they name it this week) Amphitheater. 1. We had to park in the back of the lot furthest from the venue and walk for 15 minutes past three huge, empty parking lots much closer to the theater. Who makes these decisions? I'm a disabled combat veteran, but I was not about to pay $50, the cheapest paid parking option. 2. I scoured their webpage checking for all restricted items and they state that ¨Illegal drugs/substances¨ are not allowed, so I brought my favorite pipe with a little herb, after all, we were there to see the DOOBIE Brothers. I wasn't breaking any rules or laws and didn't try to hide anything (cannabis is legal in Washington), but I was told I had to walk 15 minutes back to the car or throw it in the ¨contraband¨box. If legal cannabis is not allowed, JUST SAY SO ON YOUR WEBSITE morons! 3. The food and drink prices were absurd, $17 for a can of beer, $7 for water, and $28 for a small frozen margarita. We refused to waste our money and so did the majority in attendance from what I could see. If they would simply cut their prices by 50%, they would likely double their profits and make the event more enjoyable for customers. 4. The acoustics in the open venue covered by a metal roof were terrible. I couldn't recognize several of my favorite songs because of all of the background noise and the instruments overpowering the vocals. Very disappointing. 5. I decided to spring for the VIP lounge and the VIP parking since I wasn't too familiar with the venue and couldn't find any info on the lounge. The parking was nice, we got to drive past the line and park right by the entrance. Leaving was also super easy and got right out while passing all the other cars in line. For someone who hates lines, this was worth it! The VIP lounge was very vague on the description when going to purchase. The lounge is located outside of the arena area in an event tent. I was hoping it was facing the stage somehow but nope! The setup was actually pretty cute and lots of different seating options; comfy lounge chairs, a fire pit outside with seating around it, and tables better suited for those ordering food. They did have their own restrooms that are MUCH nicer than the regular venue ones and come with basic amenities such as mints, hairspray, tampons, etc.. There were food and beverages available, also nicer than the options outside of the tent. We had a delicious gin cocktail and hummus platter, both were great, though very over priced. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff. read more

A group of my friends and I went to the Cyndi Lauper concert here. Cyndi put on a great show! We rented their lawn chairs and I was happy to see they were not the low ones that I was expecting. They were a cross height-wise between a low chair and a normal hight camping chair. They cost $15 which was an ok price, but felt, like a lot of places these days, between the parking lot different pricing for being close and fast in/out and chairs that they Nickle and dime you here. Lines are long for any drinks and food but if you go early enough you won't lose any concert time. They do have a nice drink garden to hang out in, as you can't bring alcohol back in to the concert area. You can bring in food in up to a gallon size zip lock bag, and this is nice to do! We had a charcuterie dinner. I highly recommend driving as a carpool to events here, we printed out the page that you put in the front window as you drive in and you'll be able to park in a fast in/out lot, without paying extra for. We parked in lot C and had no wait getting out of the lot. We were directed to the road that goes along with the highway for a little over a mile and then hit the highway. It was the quickest way out I've experienced here. read more

Just so people know I have been to 100's of show's , many in bigger cities. The parking is a joke / food and drink are way too steep for the quality you get and when the concert let out ( Toto ) the parking/ traffic management was the worst ever!! A bunch of young kids who didn't know what was going on, yet could gather in groups and talk and play around while waving their little flashlight sabers. Worthless bunch all around. I recently went the Styx concert and sat very close to the front in the 102 section, row O seats 26-28. The seats were so narrow and close together that normal size adults could not sit comfortable back in their chairs as your shoulders are much wider than the tiny chairs that are right next to each other. For $140 seats with $22 cans of concession water I expect more comfortable seating. We won't ever be going back to this venue. When we saw Black Sabbath years ago, the seats were not like this. Despite all the horror stories we read in other's reviews, we had a fabulous time. First, very quick and easy getting in and out. ALL staff were friendly, well trained and very helpful given it was our first time there - parking attendants, ticket/security, VIP lounge servers, etc. food was excellent in the lounge. Restrooms were spotless and attractive. We especially enjoyed playing cornhole while waiting for the concert to begin. The chairs were kinda small but we didn't spend much time sitting in them anyway. We seen Chevelle and Three days grace. It was super loud. I love to sing to it was a blast . My friend got a hoodie. The RV Inn Style Amphiteater was the worst concert venue I've been to in my 47 years on earth. I knew ahead of time that the parking lot exit situation was horrible, so I went to their FAQ and it mentioned an Aspen Shuttle running for some non-weekend concerts when the public transit isn't operating. (The venue's "easy out" parking lot was $100 which should have been a sign.) Getting on the shuttle was fine. We left immediately at the last long and beelined it for the shuttle area. Granted - we didn't remember exactly where the shuttle boarded. But we figured we could just ask a staffer. There was an army of parking lot attendants, but their main duty was yelling at people to leave or get out of the way. ***The 1st parking attendant we asked gave us completely WRONG information for the shuttle location, yet acted 100% confident in their instructions.*** So we spent 25 minutes walking to the opposite side of the massive parking lot based on bad directions. The next few attendants we asked treated us like criminals for even approaching them, and yelled that they didn't know where the shuttle location was and we needed to exit the premises. (Yes, there were drunk people there, but I was 100% sober and my friend had had 1 drink. Even if we had been wasted, some common courtesy would have been nice.) One attendant radioed to get an answer for us, and told us that the shuttle location was at the "rear" of the amphitheater. Somehow we made it there 20 minutes later, after being yelled at by various other workers, to get out of the way of the massive train of cars. When we got to the shuttle area, there were 150 people in line, and not a shuttle in sight. I had a babysitter to get home to, so I had to order a Lyft for $100. That driver couldn't find the pickup spot and said the police had shut down one of the roads. Fortunately we were able to cancel that ride, and ended up getting a different Lyft from the Rideshare pickup area, for like $40. I was still late to relieve my babysitter. ***The concert ended at 10:30 and we didn't get in the Lyft til 11:45.*** I will never go to this venue again. read more

5 stars? Ohhhh myyyyy. Why the big rating? Is seating incredible? Are the chairs super ultra comfy? Is the amphitheater spacious? Nope. The chairs are standard hard plastic, and all stuffed together in ridiculously long rows. I've sat in there many times, always close to the aisles because I can only give so many people a$$ while, saying "excuse me, excuse me, excuse me" before I get annoyed. Well then, 5 stars must reflect the food and drinks, right? Are there so many options? Is the food really tasty? Do I find myself craving things I can only get during the summer when the venue opens? Are the prices just beyond reasonable? Big nope. Everything is stupid expensive, from the (almost) $4 bottled waters to the $30+ cocktails made with more syrup than liquor. I'm an effort to save myself some small degree of money, I opt for canned seltzers (at least they are big cans). I do like the pulled pork nachos, they are surprisingly good. So why the 5 stars? It's simple. I love the shows. I love music. I always always look forward to laying on the lawn and absorbing all the energy from the fans and the artists, drinking seltzers, until the sun goes down. If you have never been to a show here, I highly recommend it. It is one of my favorite places to be in the summer. Tips, if I may - 1. Read the rules about chairs and bags. Security is going to deny you entry, whether you paid 30 bucks for lawn tickets or 300 for VIP. I know, I've watched it happen. Your chair should be the low beach kind and your bags should be see through/transparent OR the size of your hand. 2. Bring an empty water bottle so you aren't paying $4 for a single bottle inside. You can fill it at the water station. 3. Get there early. I mean, early. Especially if you know the artist is trendy. The gates open at 5, plan to arrive around 3 for big names or you'll wind up in line behind 400+ people. Trust me, again. This just happened at the Eric Church/Jelly Roll concert I went to. Luckily, I got there early enough to only end up behind about 50 people. 4. ADA parking is limited and as long as you have a valid parking pass, you'll be allowed in to the back area. This fills up pretty fast tho, plan accordingly. Also, it does not give you perks to get into the venue faster. You'll still have to wait in line. If not in line, security will check where you should be and you'll have to wait up front until that spot turns up at the front of line, as tho you were waiting in the actual line. Lots of people don't know this. Just another observation I've made on my many trips here. 5. Cash is not needed here. It is now a cashless venue so no need to bring anything but cards here! This is a pretty cool venue! The name is unfortunate and makes it seem like it'll be lame though. I can't imagine the view from the lawn being remotely worth it, but we sat in the chairs in the middle section and it was good! I like that it's outside but it's covered so you aren't in the elements. Food and drinks are astronomical but it's a nice area outside the amphitheater. Bathrooms are big and relatively clean. The worst thing was the traffic in and out. It's definitely worse getting out because I think people can pay extra for special parking that lets them out first. Parking was no biggie (distance was max about 0.5 miles as we parked at the exit as was recommended to make a quick exit , and left just maybe a song from the end)- and not as near a hassle ,in my experience to the Edgefield/ the Gorge ... but it is a smaller venue. That said, the lawn experience is probably better at Edgefield, but everything else was far superior- we had seating in the 200s and that was great in terms of comfort, audio, ease of access. Loved the smaller more intimate setting, great acoustics... Bathrooms are nice! Not porta potties !! And kept very clean by housekeepers in constant attendance- in fact a spilled drink in the main aisle was quickly mopped up. Food was regularly priced for a venue, drinks indeed were off the hook expensive - but liked the easily accessible refilling stations for the water bottles you were allowed to bring in. Next time we will pack food too( as it's allowed- easy to make a stop at Chipotle and bring in dinner!) All in all I think a lot depends on the day of the week and the crowd - ours was a Friday night drive from Portland: we left at 5pm got there 5:45, got to our seats by 6 ( plenty of time to go back out and explore)- the reggae crowd definitely doesn't rush things- the Marley Brothers started an hour late at 8:30, the crowd didn't really arrive until 8pm... but that was ok, lesson learned we enjoyed the show and will be back. Won't go back. We purchased lawn seating for a show and when we got there, we were told not enough seats were sold so they closed the lawn and upgraded everyone's to seats under the pavilion. That's not what I wanted which is why that's not what we bought. First off, it was SO hot so we sat there in the miserable heat with no air flow. It was awful. Had we been able to sit in the area we bought our tickets for, we would have had some room to breath which again was what I wanted. Second (and more importantly), COVID is on the rise and all three of our party spent the next week+ with COVID. Why not give people the option?? What difference does it make to the venue if people want to keep their lawn seating?? I won't take a chance again. There were other minor things like not being able to bring in chairs, the parking situation ... etc., but my issue was more forcing me to sit in an area I didn't want to sit in. read more

I actually like this venue because IT IS SMALL. Yes - food is limited and really not that good at all. Three merch areas though which is pretty decent for a small venue, AND you can order ahead to purchase your merch without waiting in line. However, everyone reading this review really needs to take into consideration just how chilly this venue is after 6pm... the sun goes down, and there are no trees to block the ever present wind. I understand that yall look REALLY SPECTACULAR in those short hoochie skirts and shorts (all genders), but really you should consider bringing a jacket or two. Fashion AND function. Concerts 10/10. This place is great but Hella unorganized. The food is shitty period..they should focus on good smaller food not expensive badly done smothered pork and such..the beer is OK small shitty selection..the concerts depending on how it's laid out can be awesome or shitty..and the lawn is really the only thing going for this place if ya want to see well hear a band u love live..because u ain't seeing shit from the lawn!. It's clean but the Hella walk around uphill both ways..parking off in timbuck2..and then the 2 hours to get in and 2 hours to get out make this place a bust for me..I'm hoping ilani..catches on and designs a modern better more surround inclusive..better food and beer place and this one for sure gonna be shut down! read more

Parking/traffic control is atrocious, like stupid bad. Can't believe I hadn't heard about this before going to my first show given it must be that way for every big show. I'd try and offer advice on how to beat it but even after going thru it I'm really not sure where to start. Park near a lot exit that's closer to the main road and not the admission area, that's the best I got for ya! Show was great, we had decent seats but it's not really an outdoor concert feel in the lower bowl that has the roof. Not sure how people in the back see the stage well with the low roof but whatever, I'm not going back. read more

Unfortunately parking was a nightmare as foretold by others. We arrived 2 hours after our original ETA and that included leaving our house in pdx 3 hours early. Missed the first few songs of an already postponed show. ): Sound and stage were beautiful and the employees were incredibly kind and helpful - the parking issue is no fault of theirs. Probably wouldn't see anyone again unless I bought VIP parking which seemed to get people in and out quicker. read more

NIGHTMARE. First, getting here was a nightmare. Every single access road was blocked other than one. Drinks and food are insanely overpriced 20 bucks for beer and 7 for water. Last, getting out of the parking lot feels like I'm paying back all my bad karma from this life and PAST LIVES. Zero direction on how to exit the parking lots. I'm writing this currently in the parking lot, about an hour and a half after the show ended, still at a standstill. Haven't moved an inch. Unless you LOVE the artist performing do not come here. The drinks there are crazy overpriced I got 3 supposedly mason jars drinks that were 30 bucks each and didn't even come with a mason jar but a flimsy plastic bottle, that's not even mentioning that there was almost no alcohol in it and it was 80 percent ice.
