Cascalote is one of my trusted go-to places that will not let me down when it comes to delectable food and drinks. Literally everything is 10/10. The salmon was delicious. It was paired with a kale+corn+sweet plantain concoction that was like a big O in your mouth. The sweet/savory combo was everything. Their chicken nachos are my go to. Every single nacho had the works on it. The drinks (sangria x spicy margarita) were perfect. They tasted great and were just the right amount of strong. The waiter and bartender were attentive and our water was always refilled (which is really important to me. we love a hydrated girly). The brunch vibes music mix was on point. My fav family owned business!

Cascalote Latin Bistro is absolutely fantastic and I'm glad that it's doing well after it relocated. I went with my cousin here for brunch and we both loved what we got. We started off with margaritas (just have to for a Sunday brunch) and they did not disappoint- my favorite was the maracuya one. As for the mains, I had the Benedict crab cakes and my cousin had the enchiladas. We also shared an order of the Brazilian cheesy bread which was really tasty (carbs + cheese, what's not to love)? There was a generous amount of crab given in my main and my cousin's enchiladas had a really nice kick to it. The service here is also lovely- it is a true family business and I hope they'll stick around for generations to come.

I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience at Casalote Latin Bistro, where we rented the back area for a sisterhood event. Unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed and personally disrespected by a staff member who I later learned is the owner's daughter. As an Afro-Latina who presents as African American, I couldn't help but notice a shift in how I was treated compared to others in my group. I ordered the Costillitas Benedicto, which was described as slow-braised short rib, sweet corn arepa, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and maduros. What I received was not as described (see video below): * The eggs were fully cooked, not poached. * The meat resembled ropa vieja (shredded beef), not slow-braised rib with a bone. * The hollandaise sauce was an unexpected orange color and extremely spicy none of which was stated on the menu. Due to all of these issues, I sent the dish back. I was told I could order something else from our prix fixe menu, but I felt so uncomfortable and turned off by the experience that I didn't want to risk another poor or potentially tampered-with dish. Later, I was told I'd still be charged for the original meal I returned. Reluctantly, I agreed to the French toast but asked for the syrup on the side, as another guest had received hers pre-drenched and was unhappy about it. When I approached the waitress with this simple request, she didn't make eye contact, stared at her tablet, and responded curtly: "That's how it comes." I let her know that her tone felt unnecessary, and she replied, "Okay, if you feel like that, beloved." She continued in a passive-aggressive manner, repeating "that was your experience, beloved" without ever looking at me. I then overheard her speaking in Spanish to another guest, saying she would not serve me again. She proceeded to offer that guest a complimentary shot, thanking her for being "a good patron." This entire interaction felt unprofessional, dismissive, and frankly, targeted. The poor food quality, lack of transparency on the menu, and passive hostility from the waitress (especially toward a paying customer who did not present as Latinx) made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. I will not be returning to Casalote and recommend they re-evaluate not only how they present their dishes, but how they treat their guests especially those who don't "look" like the culture they serve.

Overall rating: 4.8 I wish this place was in Brooklyn! It was so far from me. I saw this place pop-up on my for you page and was very excited to try it. It looks very local and the everyone was so friendly. It is a small place and my friend and I probably only got a place because we went on a gloomy Sunday. We actually got the last table around 1pm, so I felt very lucky. We started with the guacamole which oddly was just okay. It was missing some seasoning, but I loved my main meal. IT WAS SO GOOD. My friend got the birreria tacos and I got the Costillas Benedicto Benedict. The Slow braised shredded short ribs were phenomenal and paired with eggs, omg.

I came here Saturday for brunch with reservation for 1pm when we arrived there we're available seats but is good to be safe. I noticed on my way in they have outdoor seating as well with heaters. It was my first time here first impression the place is small not sure how much people it holds but can't be more than 20. The Ambiance is cute and bright they were playing good music some throwbacks. To begin we got the guacamole and chips the guac was fresh and flavorful the only thing it wasn't spicy even tho we asked for spicy. We also got margaritas they were about $14-15 I got the tamarind and my friend got the Maracuya. My drink was flavorful but wayyy to sweet maybe cause tamarindo itself is sweet. I also tried my friends which was passion fruit and I did like that one better. For our next drinks my friend order the same one I went with Mango. The mango margarita with the tamarinn rims was yummy and less sweet compare to the tamarindo. However, we were two drinks in and personally the margaritas weren't as strong for my liking. For food I got the desayuno de rancho and my friend got steak tacos and it was yummy portions was a decent size but I was still hungry after so we got Brazilian cheese bread and that was pretty good. after eating we were not as lit as we wanted to be so we decided to do shots instead since we felt the drinks weren't as strong. We saw mango flights online and wanted to try them they come in 4 and 6 we got a total of 5 shots each! Flights were about $32- $48 although they were tasty I did not find them strong enough considering the price. So we finished off with a shot of 100 anos and it was good. We were somewhat tipsy but after all those shots/drinks I was expecting more. rating the place based on ambiance, music And service we had an overall great time I would probably visit again for happy hour and go straight for the regular shots not flavored to get my moneys worth.

What an excellent lunch. Enough said, but I'll tell you more. They had burrito on the menu, but I didn't see a shrimp one, so I asked and she said no problem. Delicious. It contained fresh shrimp that had first been sautéed in a sauce, perhaps garlic based, then placed within a rice and avocado tortilla. Green sauce available, but I'm a lightweight. Served with homemade french fries, and wonderfully presented as you can see in the picture. It was just the perfect lunch for the right price as well. Washed down with a wonderfully concocted homemade lemonade. Prompt service, flavorful cooking, adorable atmosphere. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

Small, quaint, lots of character, good service, terrific food! We had empanadas, an al pastor taco, and sweet corn arepa, with a drink of mango juice. All were great. The al pastor taco had a lot of flavor. Empanadas were crisp and hot. The arepas were new to us and we'll look for it again. We took a chance going out of way to come here for a light lunch and were not disappointed. Would definitely come back the next time we're in NYC.

Try everything! This Barrio staple has been here for close to 25 years! And it never disappoints. The food is traditionally creative and amazing succulent. The Benedicto was incredible. The pork was juicy the Spanish Hollandaise sauce is seriously finger licking! The hand crafted drinks are well balanced! Don't past this place up.... WOW!!

Wow! Excellent choice for brunch. A group of alumni from Connecticut College gathered for a holiday brunch and this was a perfect setting with beautiful artwork and awesome service. Be prepared for a small space so if you have a large group you will take up the entire restaurant but it is wi detail to feel as if the place is all yours. The orders were taken and the food was freshly prepared and quick. Everything was tasty and not one of our group of 12 had a complaint and instead raved about all their choices and pleased with the quantity of food. I had the Tres Leches pancakes and it was like heaven in my mouth. Wow!! When in NYC again, we will definitely have this place on our frequent frequently list!! Thank you for a wonderful setting for our annual brunch.

I visited with my cousins for a Saturday night dinner and it's definitely a VIBE! We made reservations ahead of time which is highly suggested since the inside is small and then they have outdoor seating too with heaters. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by the staff and seated. The menu is found on a scannable QR code. My cousin and I started off with a mango margarita as well as the butterfly margarita. Both were flavorful, but not strong enough so the next drink we ordered we made sure it had a punch to it. The waitress suggested the tamarind margarita which was a bit stronger so we were satisfied. For our entrees, my cousins ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas and I ordered the shrimp tacos, french fries and platanos. Everything was flavorful and a nice portion size. As an app, we ordered the guac and chips which was super fresh! One of my top favorite guacs for sure! One of the reasons why my cousin chose this place was for their mango shot flight which you can get 4 or 6. We ordered 4 which was $32. The shots were good but it didn't really taste like liquor, I tasted more of the tamarind. To end our night, we decided to order 2 shots of house tequila for $13 each. Casamigos shots would've been $17 each which is crazy but we're in NY so I expected it. After 3 shots and two drinks each, we didn't feel tipsy at all. Maybe because we have a high tolerance? Or the drinks weren't strong enough. All in all, it was still a good time. The music is great too! Love me my Bad Bunny! Would I be back? Yes! It's a nice spot for a celebrations for sure.

I had a good time coming here for the first time after visiting Museo del Barrio nearby. The service was great, Austin our server took great care of us, he was attentive, kind and 10/10 across the board even spoke a bit of Spanish. The restaurant was left all to ourselves due to the rainy weather, the staff made sure to dim the lights and bring out some table candles for a more intimate vibe. I def would recommend anyone come here and be sure to try the coconut mojito, honestly I thought the creaminess of coconut in a dream would be a night mare but it's by far the best drink I've had this year. I ordered the henny punch and it was ... punching! The food was amazing too, and very cultural, no crumbs were left. I especially love how the empanadas were packed with meat, the chef and team were not greedy like other companies are and the fact that when you took it a bite the empanada wasn't scorching hot, it was in between hot and warm. I ordered the birria taco which I'm surprised, the consomé was packed with FLAVOR, and the taco meat was generous! Honestly best birria taco I've had so far, I've always wondered why is this style taco has been popular since at other restaurants the consomé looks like oil and taste like nothing but this one is for the books! And for the arepa? Taste just like how my fam would make it, it's amazing and the pairing with pickled onions is *chef's kiss*... sweet but also a dash of acidic flavor. I would only give 3 stars on the basis of the menu is MUCH smaller now and this business should've updated that to reflect the present day, majority of the photos are from a larger menu. #2 There is a automatic high % gratitude, and I feel this takes away from genuinely being grateful, even if this place deserves to be tipper on the higher amount. I, myself have tipped past the rate but when it's automatic, it comes off like entitlement. I think it's definitely best lead in confidence in the work you put in. Will return nonetheless to their second spot to try their tres leches pancakes.

JUST GO! In 2019 my bf&I were in search of a brunch spot around the area and decided to walk around. With little hope and energy left, we noticed this hidden gem and gave it a try. Best decision ever. We come here usually on the weekends for dinner and although they've been getting busier these days, they do their best to get you seated right away! For food, we order our usual which is "Mata cuatro and chuleta al pastor" with the delish tampiña mezcal drinks. I mean COME ON, TAMARINDO AND PINEAPPLE, to die for. They have a mix of music so it's always lit and their decor is super cute. Indoors the lights are dim and tables have flowers which also makes it romantic. I'll be coming here forever to support this family owned small business

A fantastic find up in East Harlem! A small, but charming restaurant with a very eclectic menu. The young ladies waiting tables are engaging and know the menu well; our was the daughter of the chef. I've just found my favorite Latin American restaurant! I enjoy a good mole enchiladas from time to time, but the ones I've had elsewhere always fall off the mark - chicken too dry, mole too sweet (or chalky, or bitter), too greasy. This one was near perfect! The watercress & radish salad was very refreshing. Even the beans and rice were great. I also had the huevos rancheros. What I received was perfectly cooked flank steak, crispy tortilla base, delicious beans topped with some pico de gallo and a sunny side up egg. Yum yum yum. If you have the time, take a long lunch break here. I'm definitely coming back. read more

I've dined here so many times I'm pretty sure I have tried everything for dinner and a few of their Brunch specials.This place never disappoints, I have brought friends and family here with different palettes and everyone enjoys their meals. Favorite for brunch is the Eggs Benedict with crab cake Favorite Dinner shrimp and watercress salad-- dressing is amazing! This place is best for a smaller group or a date. read more

Went here last night. Excellent service. They were very accommodating despite us not having reservations. The place is small and so seating 4 people would have been difficult considering most of their tables were filled and also they were waiting for a group that made reservations. Luckily we were seated. We missed happy hour but since they knew it was my friends bday they were willing to give us happy hour prices for our first round. We ordered their specials that night. 2 of the girls had salmon and 2 of us had the short ribs (Costillitas en Adobo) . It was so good and so worth the price. I also highly recommend the picaso drink. It was not too strong and tasted sweet & slightly sour. Just what I wanted. One of our other friends joined in after we finished our meal which worked out fine as the place was quite empty by that point. They gave her a menu but she just ordered sangria. Overall their service and food was excellent. Also, in case anyone is wondering, there is parking in the area. read more

5 years later and still one of our favorite restaurants! Cascalote stayed open during the pandemic and was our weekly treat to ourselves. They did everything right when it came to sanitation and now that they're open for outdoor seating, they're still strictly following all of the rules. The updated menu is AMAZING and the food never ever disappoints. Their cocktails are delicious and service is always exceptional. Can't recommend it enough. P.s. Their penne ala vodka is still the best in NYC :) read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have ordered pick up and delivery many times and they always do it right. My favorite is the veggie burrito. You get a ton of food for your money as it comes with fries. I always substitute the fries for a side salad which is an extra $3 charge, but you get the most delicious arugula salad. I have no idea why this burrito is the bomb, it is just delicious. I would, however, add some spicy sauce on the side. Also, our household is a big fan of the brazilian cheesy bread. It's oddly bland, yet flavorful and it's squishy, yet crunchy at the same time. I find it very gratifying and worth a try. To top it all off, they give you a call when your food is ready. So nice. Note: they cannot always deliver. It seems like they only have one delivery guy working for them who cannot possibly work all the time. Give it a shot though. read more

I absolutely love this place. I have been here twice for Sunday brunch while in Spanish Harlem. Although the place is pretty small, it sets a nice cozy vibe. The servers were very nice and attentive. Could definitely sense a family-like vibe between the employees. The last time my boyfriend and I went we got: Appetizer: Chips & Guac (amazing homemade guac and it's a pretty big size) Meal 1: Huevos Rancheros Meal 2: Costillitas Benedicto Everything was super tasty, good portions (enough to bring leftovers home) and everything came out the kitchen quickly! We'll definitely be back again. read more

I stumbled across this restaurant with a friend during brunch last Saturday. The restaurant was actually quiet for a Saturday afternoon, which made us hesitant. But, we tried some of their brunch specials and the eggs benedict and the chicken burrito were amazing! The service was very attentive, and we also tried the mimosa specials ($6 a glass for brunch). We asked for some recommendations for dessert. The waitress told us to try the tres leches. OMG! The best tres leches ever. And, I am usually not a fan of this dessert. read more

The customer service was rude and nasty. When i asked to speak to a supervisor i was told by the employee on the phone that your establishment does not have one which is unprofessional to run a business without management. To top it off the food was vile. Never ordering from here again and i will make sure no one i know orders from here either. read more

Awesome brunch menu! Very nice staff. Good coffee. Guacamole is really really good, medium spicy is ideal. Pleasant music playing. We have ordered dinner delivery from Cascalote 4-5 times. We looked up their hours on Google, and it incorrectly states that they open at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. I think they open at 10 or 11am on weekends? Call them to confirm. We will be going back for dinner if we can get a babysitter. read more

This is my favorite brunch place in East Harlem. I probably order brunch from this restaurant twice a month. I order the same thing every time- the pancakes and the cascalote benedicto (crab cake and eggs). I don't like runny eggs so I get my eggs scrambled and the dish is absolutely amazing. The eggs, crab cake, spinach, home fries and special sauce are a winning combination. The pancakes are almost like a fluffy cake with walnuts, caramel and bananas- definitely a sweet dish. I've taken countless out of town guests here, and everyone continues to rave about this place long after. read more

If I could eat here on a daily, I would. To be able to experience such delicious food within a family owned business is like none other. The love that surrounds the restaurant is felt within the family and the flavorful food. This is a great place to come with friends, a date or enjoy happy hour at 11pm! What else could you want in a restaurant? Amazing guac, amazing sangria, the most delicious risotto I've ever had, and dulce de leche cake to die for... It's a hike from where I live, but I've made the trek more times than I should even admit. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. read more

My wife and I had a dinner at this place; A friend recommended us to come and enjoy the place. He told us that the food is good and he also told us that the tres leches cake is also spectacular, so we decided to come. The truth we get super disappointed to get to the place.... horrible music, the presence of the waitresses worst. The restaurant is very small and the attention of the waitresses is horrible, the food is ok........and the tres leches cake is nothing special ... I do not recommend this place, we never return. This is my favorite place to come thus far, the food, ambiance and people are amazing! I've never tasted a better skirt steak/churrasco. Don't know what that guy is talking about saying the chicken fajitas are a bit pricey for the neighborhood, the fajitas are WORTH if not cheap for the price they offer it for, the taste is splendid. You definitely can walk a few blocks for cheaper mexican food, but don't get it confused it will never TASTE as good as Cascalote. Overall, the best restaurant in Harlem. Exquisite! read more

This for real is a gem for the neighborhood. I have come here twice, and had gotten the skirt steak (comes with cheese bread) and slow cooked beef. Both were excellent, the skirt steak was even better. the cheese bread is like mochi, warm, a little chewy but soft. The price point is a bit high, but living nearby, I am sure I will be coming back a lot. read more

WORST PLACE EVER! Unfortunately Had dinner there this week, Huge mistake! The food was pretty bland, drinks are weak, and the place is the size of a closet. These reviews are definitely over rated. I guess people can't distinguish between mediocre food and the real deal. Prices are reasonable but I would definitely rather pay a few bucks more and enjoy an edible dinner. Didn't finish our dinner, left most of it payed out bill and left. Waitress didn't even bother asking why were our plates practically full?! To top it off spend the rest of the night running to the bathroom. My friend had stomach cramps all night too because of this "food". So if you are looking for shitty food and having the runs all night this is the place to go!!! read more

This restaurant has a very unassuming front, and is pretty small inside. We walked in around 6:20 on a Saturday evening, and got seated with no wait. At first I was disappointed by the limited number of vegetarian main dishes available, since reviews made it sound like this place had good veg options: nachos, fajitas and the waitress said they could also make vegetarian chilaquiles even though it wasn't on the menu. I was going to get fajitas, though it sounded a bit boring, but the waitress said that the nachos actually make a great main dish. They came with beans, corn, cheese, garlic-y spinach, and some other veggies. I agreed that it made a fabulous main. It was very filling, not too oily, and really unique. The spinach was especially delicious. We also split a side dish of maple maduros. The maple flavour was pretty subtle, but they were good. It seemed like a serving was approximately one large plantain. We didn't get drinks, but they looked pretty exciting. It's not a cheap restaurant, but I think it'd make a good date spot. We couldn't overhear the conversation of the neighbouring tables, but didn't have any issues hearing each other. My dinner companion got shrimp tacos and said they were good. I came here on a Wednesday night for an impromptu dinner date with the boy. I have been wanting to come here forever because I love in the neighborhood but it was always packed. Since it was a miserable rainy night we actually got a table. We shared the flat bread which was fantastic and I highly recommend as an appetizer. We then shared the steak which for 26 dollars was a nice piece of meat! It was a real medium rare. The pao de queso was also amazing...though admittedly is hard to mess up. The venue is homey with character and the wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The table behind us was ordering a lot of drinks and they even got free shots. The music was a little loud so you did have to scream to have your conversation heard. Otherwise the experience was really terrific. This is a must go to joint in this neighborhood. read more

After seeing the crazy crowd at Ricardo Steak House, my friends suggested going to Cascalote instead. We had previously ordered delivery (brunch) from there, but haven't actually been to the restaurant yet. BEST IDEA EVER. Service was wonderfully attentive. They were so great and sociable and more than happy to offer us some menu recommendations. Restaurant atmosphere was fun/upbeat and the music was awesome. Everything we ordered (sangria + guac, fish tacos, chorizo tacos, carbonara, maple maduros, rice + donuts and mexican hot choc for dessert) was delicious and I can't wait to return. Foodie approved. So glad to have place like this near my apartment. read more

This is not an exaggeration: Of all the restaurants I've been to in NYC, Cascalote is the best. My girlfriend and I came here last night for a Valentine's Day dinner. We've been looking for MONTHS for a Mexican place that's a little fancier than the standard "burrito/taco/enchilada" menu, which is always a beautiful thing but sometimes you want something a little special. The problem is, every "fancy" Mexican place we've visited has either been 1) white people trying to Frenchify Mexican food (i.e. using processing techniques that are impressive and "prestigious" but really just ruin the textures and warp the flavors), or 2) younger chefs who try interesting things but just don't have enough experience to make something truly delicious. Cascalote brought together experience, innovation, and respect for traditional ingredients -- all under one roof. Cascalote is literally a mom-and-pop joint: The chefs are a older Latino couple, and their daughters even serve the food. The space reflects this familial coziness: it's intimate but not crowded, and the family's deserved pride in their operation radiates through the welcoming decor. But behind all this warmth, there's also a culinary school sensitivity: The menu is innovative, the dishes are plated really damn well, and everything was executed to perfection I got the arugula salad with pear, roasted pepitas, cotija cheese, chopped dates, and Serrano dressing. The pear was perfectly shaved -- no awkwardly-big lumps of fruit here -- and there were just enough pepitas and dates to keep each bite varied without being distracting. The serrano dressing was also exquisitely balanced, alternately highlighting and counterposing the flavors of the main ingredients to somehow make the dish both refreshing AND utterly satisfying. My girlfriend got the chipotle prawns with quinoa risotto, which is even better than it sounds. At first I was skeptical of her choice because it seemed like there were a million ways that this dish could go wrong, but luckily for us, I was totally off-the-mark The risotto was tender yet a little toothy, and there was just enough chipotle marinade on the shrimp to flavor the quinoa without making the dish soupy. The resulting sauce was awesome: Imagine everything wonderful about a perfect puttanesca -- savory flavors bursting into a refreshing spray of the sea -- and then imagine the complexity of an arrabbiata's bustling brightness, and then imagine a sauce that links up ALL those things with the sultry smokiness of chipotles. Why haven't you booked a reservation yet? Cascalote's guacamole was the best I've had anywhere (and I'm from California so I don't say that lightly!): it was chunky, creamy, spicy, and had a lovely herbal punch. The complimentary chips were crispy and only lightly oiled, and obviously made fresh on-site, and were served with a salsa that was delectably tangy and bright. The maduros plaintains were expertly fried and attractively presented. Even though my girlfriend and I made the mistake of eating just a few hours before dinner, we damn near licked our plates clean. Why am I writing such a glowing review of this place? Because I want to be able to eat here as long as I can! Despite going there on a Friday night (Valentine's Day!) Cascalote was still only about half-full! I'm worried that if not enough people eat here, it'll have to close before I can get my fill. The only way I can explain the slow business the restaurant's location: at 109th and 2nd Ave, it's a bit out of the way for most people. But you know what? I recently attended a brunch here with 15 other guests. One of the guests felt compelled to leave a review that was filled with false and misleading information, and I felt compelled to come and clarify how incredibly inviting, attentive, and serviceable the team at Cascalote truly is. For starters, we did not 'rent' the back. As a courtesy to our large party, the Cascalote team felt we would be more comfortable in a long table and offered it. Renting would require a price point we did not meet. The categorization that one person was treated differently from "others in group' is ludicrous. The entire group was Black women. Some from the islands, some native to the US, all skin tones and hairstyles included. There was no discrimination towards anyone by the staff. The comment that the food might have been tampered with is wild, but indicative of this person's misguided self-importance. We had 3 entrees to choose from- all were prepared with the care and love that make this restaurant a staple for my family and friends. None of the guests were disappointed except for 1. Those odds are great. The reviewer also failed to mention that the price they agreed to included appetizers which they happily consumed, and because we wiped all the plates clean, some in our party had leftovers which they commented on the next day as being just as delicious as when they were served. There was no hostility from the staff even after the guest withheld payment unless another meal was produced for her- which while initially offered and declined- was accommodated. The complimentary shot? It was pre-agreed upon from the head of service and I for helping me pull off a successful event in under a week for 16 people with varying tastes. There was nothing wrong with the food. The restaurant does a phenomenal job incorporating Latin American flavors into Anglo/euro dishes and while some might prefer original versions of the dish, it is simple-minded to expect a Mexican restaurant to not add sazón y labor that represent their cuisine. I'll leave you with this, for over 10 years I have patronized this establishment. My parents, siblings, cousins, and friends have been introduced to it and all have returned. Ok. Editing my previous review, because they are 100% amazing and so responsive! In my first review I only gave 3 stars and said I used to love this place... but they switched the type of chicken they use and it was just....not it, anymore lol. I wrote them and asked about and they said they always listen to their customers and have been hearing it from more than one person...so they are going to switch back! Such amazing customer service. Every time I've gone, they've been so nice. And the food is seriously delicious. I crave it during the day. And I am from California, so I am quite picky when it comes to mexican and latin food....and this is some of the best you can get in NYC. The neighborhood is great, the place is cozy for eating in and timely with delivery. You can't lose. It's also family owned so they actually care about their food and their customers. It's worth it. I seriously cannot say enough about this place. I eat here a few days a week. EVERYTHING is delicious! All of the ingredients are fresh and the staff is fantastic. The chef is just absolutely awesome. I have seen him cut corn off of the cob and put it in the burritos. The cuts of meat used for the burgers are top notch. I have also had brunch here many times and ordered a variety of items from pancakes to omelettes. Everything is cooked to perfection and with care. As always, the little hole in the wall places are the best! Cascalote is amazing! The food is fresh, authentic and well priced for the portions. All of our dishes, drinks, and music were on point! Our little one had watermelon juice and it was unlike any juice we've tasted. It was obviously made with fresh watermelon and nothing else! Cascalote Latin Bistro has a lot of hype and I love COCO so I knew there were high expectations going in. We were told the wait would be an hour but it two hours. After the wait the service was great and the food was good but not worth the wait. The portions are smaller than I expected but are crafted well. I would come back and recommend it as there wasn't a bad thing on the menu but I don't know when I would want to deal with the hassle and costs. read more
