Visiting Portland and saw that this place is really popular. The place is really cute and looks like a good place to study or work from. A few seats below and more on the second floor and outside. The blueberry muffin with streusel was great but the morning bun was tough and cold. The espresso is more deep and dark and I am a fan of a lighter espresso so I wasn't a fan of the coffee.

Amazing, don't miss out!!! The bourbon caramel cap is great! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a new coffee shop to visit in Portland.

Amazing breakfast coffee experience in Portland Oregon!! Loved special cappuccino and pastry (caramelized assaggio danish)

Case Study Coffee is a nice place to have coffee and you guessed it, to study. I initially ordered the masala latte (I think that's what it was called?) and... honestly, I blanked out after the first few sips because I just didn't love it. It was too bitter for me. But before I could even fully process my disappointment, Ashley, the barista, noticed my expression right away. She was so kind about it! And reassured me that it was totally okay and encouraged me to pick something else instead. That moment of care made all the difference. I switched to their seasonal malt maple drink, had it made hot with almond milk, and wow, that was the one. Warm, cozy, subtly sweet, and absolutely perfect for cold Portland weather. It felt like comfort in a cup, the kind of drink you slowly sip while watching the rain outside.

I was visiting Portland for the weekend and checking out different coffee shops when I came across Case Study Coffee. I'm really glad I did. The space is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to take a break while exploring the city. The coffee was delicious--smooth, well-made, and clearly high quality. It was exactly what I needed during a busy day of walking around downtown. Definitely worth stopping by if you're visiting Portland and want a great cup of coffee.

Fantastic coffee shop with a wide variety of beverages and baked goods. Very sweet and helpful staff members. Large, well-appointed and comfortable dining area with huge windows.

We arrived on a bustling Thursday morning around 10:00 and found many customers working away, easily focusing despite all the activity. The barista team was very efficient and focused. The chai latte smelled amazing! The flavor was delicious--just the right level of chai. The hot chocolate had a great presentation, no typical whipped cream topping. It also wasn't heavy sweet. While we visited Portland we visited many coffee shops; Case Study Coffee was definitely one of our favorites! I encourage you to come check it out.

Case Study -- cute name for a coffee shop. It's the standard of mill of what you would expect in the cafe -- good coffee and nice selection of pastries, so perfect for when you want a little treat with your cup of java. We ordered: - [ ] Vanilla Latte -- tastes good. - [ ] Turmeric Golden Milk - Better than I had expected, meaning not powdery but drink its way, way too sweet. I recommend asking with less honey. I do see all tables occupied and this is one of a few coffees shop in Portland with steady crowd and more folks lingering. A lot of shops on Downtown closes early including this cafe. One of my favorite little touches at Case Study is the "question of the day" they post at the counter--something fun or quirky to ponder while you wait for your coffee. They even leave out pens so you can doodle or jot down your answer on countertop. It's such a small gesture, but it makes the space feel warm, creative, and human. Just wrote "Yelp"! Good coffee, great vibes, and a reason to put your phone down for a minute and sit with a friend. Love this spot!

it is about 90°F outside. Just stepped in to Case Study. AC is on. I feel so cool. So, I'm rolling with my favorite midday drink - cappuccino. First time at this coffee shop so I'm comparing the taste utility to a "cap" at Barista or Stumptown. it is a two shot espresso with whole milk, temperature about 150, very well balanced (acidity to sweetness with a little bitter back taste) - robust flavor with three origins - Columbia, Ethiopia and Mexico. The single cup of cappuccino is sourced from around the world and in my world makes my world today! Nice going case study. See you again.

Polite barista, cardamom rose latte with oatmilk was a banger, clean bathroom. Pastry looked good but I did not indulge. Barista was at register and making coffee. It was out in less than 2 minutes.

I was visiting Portland for a work trip and I came here twice for their jasmine matcha latte. I hadn't seen jasmine with matcha before at a cafe and it was so good I had to come back and get it again! I got it cold both times and it had a nice jasmine flavor which went well with the matcha. Definitely recommend if you like matcha It's a bigger cafe that has tons of seating inside which is nice.

I'd give it a 3.5 I always wanted to try and so here we are! Finally got to drop by instead of seeing it on the max. Environment: It is a little loud but I'm sure some people could work there. It has an old cozy vibe feel and there were all kinds of seating. Staff: They were okay, they got my order and that was it. I said thank you to them lol. Drink: I got their latte with regular milk and such. I always get something 'normal' or 'typical' if it's my first time. The price was a little higher for the size I got (their "small"). The coffee was fragrant and strong but later on as I kept drinking the aftertaste got more sour for me. It was sour in the end so I probably wouldn't try again because of that. If you don't mind the more fruit and sour tastes, go ahead!

Order: 12 ounce vanilla latte hot Pros: you know I base a good latte on whether or not I have to add sugar. If I have to add sugar to me that means it's not really good latte. This place has really good hot vanilla lattes. I do not have to add sugar. It's just sweet enough to enjoy and not bitter. Love this coffee place. Cons: none

The space feels cozy, welcoming, and full of personality. I especially loved the little post-it wall where customers can leave behind anything they want a small detail that makes the café feel even more personal and community-driven. What I ordered: Soft Cream Matcha One of the creamiest matchas I've ever had! The soft cream was incredibly fluffy and smooth, while the matcha itself was bold enough to come through with every sip and also had a coconuty essence to it. It had just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the matcha. If you love a rich, creamy matcha, this is definitely one to try. Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. The owners were so sweet and welcoming, taking the time to give me recommendations and making sure everyone was taken care of even during a busy rush. Until next time, Portland!

I've had mochas all over and none compares to the way Joe and his staff concoct the drinks at Tov. The chocolatey-ness, viscosity, mouthfeel, flavor, sippability, sweetness, always satisfy my palate, and the balance of coffee to other flavors is always to my preference. Their drinks are decadent and may take a bit longer to make than expected, and I find it is well worth the wait. I enjoy getting comfortable on Joe's very colorful red cushions, taking in the purple Egyptian vibes within and the eccentric vibrancy that is Hawthorne outside. Fun fact: Joe doesn't believe in plain old ice, and instead he freezes cubes of milk! The cubes stratify into discrete layers that are fun to crunch through, reminiscent of the layers of baklava. Very enjoyable for someone who normally avoids ice or chewing on ice.

We stopped in here after playing a round at the Wonderwood Mini Golf. It had been hot and cramped and we really needed a drink. The door was being held open by a line of people and usually that is a great sign. Being busy is awesome for the business and I am glad they are so popular. It was a weekday, probably around 11 am and there were just so many people in line. It was really cute inside but SO chaotic. There were tons of kids screaming and at times it was difficult to tell where the line really was. After about 5 minutes of the line not moving, I started to get a slight headache from the noise and we agreed we would have to go somewhere else. It was probably for the best as all the indoor and outdoor seating was full so there would have been nowhere for us to eat even if we had braved the line. I think when a business reaches this level of popularity, it's important to put systems in place to keep patrons from feeling crowded and overwhelmed and it's definitely something they might want to look into in the future.
