I showed up 10 minutes before my appointment to an empty building. I called the office number listed outside their entrance and the guy on the phone told me they weren't open on Wednesdays and that the lady I spoke to regarding my appointment no longer works with them. Ok, so I rescheduled two more weeks of waiting, I go in 15 minutes early to fill out all the paper work. I go in and they do x-rays, I then sit there and wait 2 HOURS. I get upset and tell them how much longer? The dentist finally comes in and does a quick check up on the x-rays. He then tells me I have cavities and will need to schedule another appointment to have them filled and to clean my teeth. I waited 2 hours and didn't even get a CLEANING. The lady in the front then tells me to wait until someone calls me to book my next appointment. It has been one week since that last appointment and nobody from the office has called to schedule my appointment. This has been a frustrating waste of time. Will never go back and do not recommend.

I could hear him in the next room chit chatting. When he finally saw me he said I needed a CT scan to determine how close the nerves were to my lower wisdom teeth. He kept saying I waited too long to get my teeth pulled (I have serious surgery anxiety) and I don't have a time machine to go back in time to get my teeth pulled. In any case, I had time to take the additional scans but I wouldn't have time to wait for him to make his rounds again. He said he would review the scans to determine the risk level, make a recommendation and give me a call. I didn't have to schedule the surgery date as the front office had already scheduled my surgery appt when I scheduled the consultation. Fast forward about 4 days and it's the day of the surgery. There was a mix up with the anti anxiety medication that was prescribed caused by the office / CVS and after multiple phone calls, I had to forego the prescription and head to the office for surgery. When I checked in, I stated he never called me about whether I would be getting 2 or 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled. They assured me that he would discuss it with me. They take me back to the room and the dental assistant does her best to calm my nerves. She was really sweet. After 20+ min, the oral surgeon enters the room and I ask whether he made a decision as to whether it was too risky, he stated again that was why I shouldn't have waited so many years to get my teeth pulled. Then he said I made the appt to get all 4 teeth pulled. I panicked. I let him know my surgery was scheduled before I even had my consultation. I asked him for his recommendation. He said there was risk either way. Under extreme anxiety and no time to think it out, I made the decision to go with all 4. I knew I'd never have the nerve to go through this again. He administered the anesthesia himself and I was knocked out. Why did I have to pay additional $$ to get CT scans that weren't even used? The surgery went seemingly okay. I was sent home with multiple pages of instructions (that happened to contradict each other) but was able to call the office for follow up questions. After the shots wore off, I had no feeling in my lower gums, lower lip and chin. My first follow up visit was pretty pointless as the oral surgeon wasn't even there. I went back another week later for a second follow up, and spoke to the oral surgeon. He stated he never saw the nerves during surgery so it was odd that I was so numb. He also let me know that whatever feeling hadn't returned in 4 months, wouldn't likely return. It's been 4 months, full feeling has not returned yet. I guess I just have to live this way. Overall, I couldn't recommend this surgeon. I know it could have been worse but it could have gone a lot better. There was too much confusion, not enough follow through and the outcome was less than desirable.

My experience with this office was extremely inconsistent. First, I was never proactively given…read morereceipts unless I asked, and when I finally requested records, some receipts were missing. The final billing breakdown also did not match the actual ledger. Even the $120 I paid at my first visit was missing from the final bill. On my first visit, I was told my tooth was cracked and needed extraction. I paid $120 just to be seen while I was still deciding whether to do the implant there. On my second visit, I had the extraction and paid $500. Because I wanted a whiter veneer shade, the doctor told me veneers needed to be done before the implant so the new tooth color could be matched properly. Their veneer price was too high, (The front desk showed me the veneers the doctor made for her, and her front teeth looks obvious, did not match the nearby teeth.) so I had my veneers done elsewhere. On my third visit, after my veneers were done at another office, I returned to remake the temporary denture. The doctor asked why I went elsewhere. I explained that I could not afford their veneer price. He then said he could not make my new tooth because OM2 was "too white" and told me to have the tooth made wherever I got my veneers done. He also said if I did veneers elsewhere, he might need to adjust the shade multiple times which happened before and did not want that trouble. I even offered to pay for remakes if needed, but he still refused and told me to get the denture made somewhere else and he would only install it. Then when I asked to at least make the temporary denture that day, he said he could not do that either. It means be careful If you have brighter teeth. After I left, I contacted another office, and they immediately told me they could make an OM2 temporary tooth. I went there for a scan. The next day, Dr. Sun's office suddenly called and said they actually could do OM2 after all, so I canceled the other office. On my fourth visit, I had a 5:00 appointment that I had confirmed multiple times. When I arrived on time, the front desk acted like I had no appointment and asked why I was there. The nurse had to remind her that I was the 5:00 patient. Then I was told the doctor had already left. That explained everything Why front desk lie. The doctor never came back in person for the shade discussion and told me over the phone to decide the color myself, even though this should have been done face to face. Later, when I called because I was worried about the shade match, the front desk told me the scanner could identify the color automatically. She lied again then why they asked me to choose the shade myself? When I said I wanted to cancel, her attitude suddenly changed and she told me to come in again so the doctor could see me. On my fifth visit, the doctor finally looked at the shade with me, but then again said he still could not do my final implant crown and that I should go elsewhere. At that point I decided not to continue treatment. They later agreed to refund part of my money, but the billing records were inconsistent and did not match each other. They should refund me 575. Overall, I felt that the office gave changing answers, handled color matching carelessly, failed to provide clear records, and repeatedly shifted blame to the patient instead of taking responsibility.

He has very skilled hands surgically and is highly educated and excellent at managing complications. He teaches implant placement at a lot of different locations. If you're getting implants from him you're in great hands! Yelp reviews for doctors are a mixed bag. A lot of times patients don't understand the quality of work that's being done in their mouth and make judgment based on the superficial. He does his best and leaves you with work that lasts as long as you take care of the work like you're supposed to.
