I had brought in a 2001 Toyota Avalon for some repairs, and was not entirely satisfied due to the cost and some misunderstanding based on the items that needed to be fixed to clear the codes. Olly, the manager, called me to bring in the vehicle. The agents in the office were very nice, friendly and understanding. They took my vehicle in, treated me like a VIP, kept in touch to give me feedback on the status of the repairs, and made sure my vehicle was emissions ready. One of the best kept secrets in the area -- this place is trully exceptional -- reasonable prices, loaner cars, works with your extended warranty better than the dealer, and most importantly people who care about delivering consistently outstanding service. I started going here 3-4 yrs ago after being fed up with my dealer's lame responses and over priced services. I called Casey on Barrington and immediately sensed a true service orientation. I walked through my list of maintenance items and their pricing was better on every point, and they were willing to work with me. Then I explained a recurring problem that the dealer had not diagnosed after many visits. They gave me a loaner (without the dealer hassles ) and figured out what was really wrong (significant suspension issues) and worked through it with the extended warranty company. That's was it -- they became my "go to" shop. Since they have amazed me many times! Once it was Saturday and they were closing in about 5 minutes and I asked them to look at the air in my tires. The technician immediately noticed a nail and told me they would fix it while I waited --I swear it wasn't 10 minutes and it was done! After the first year or so, the first manager I worked with left -- then what happened? Nothing! The next one was as good as the first one! Oli will take good care of you and your car. I remember getting advertisements from the first Casey shop (20 yrs ago?) and have watched them grow. As a single woman I have, in the past, dreaded taking my car in for repairs. You know, the classic stereotype of being taken advantage of due to my complete ignorance. I've gotten oil changes done here going on a year now, the staff is always very nice and informative. I just got a few things done today including a brake job, oil change, and they fixed a loose bearing. They called me as soon as they were finished, which was pretty quickly. I have been depending on Casey Automotive in Streamwood for all of my vehicle maintenance and repairs for approximately ten years now.....we've had some difficult times with the two Saab's that I cherished, but Casey's has consistently impressed me with their honesty, superior knowledge and (perhaps most importantly for a single young woman) trustworthiness and dependability. There has not been one single time in all of these years that I felt mistreated, disrespected, taken advantage of, or misinformed. And throughout all of my vehicles in this time I have especially grown appreciative of one specific employee, Ole. Great experience!!! My wife and I flew from AZ, to visit our daughter and grandchildren in Hoffman Estates last weekend. While visiting, our daughter's van broke down. Not being from the area and it being a Friday afternoon, I Googled shops in the area. I had to make a decision on which shop to choose based on reviews. Though, I was a little bit concerned after reading the reviews for this Casey Automotive location, I felt much better about it after talking to Jack on the phone. Later that evening we dropped the van off and put the key in the drop box. On Saturday, I received a call from Jack letting me know what the primary issues were. The van is 10 years old, it has over 160k miles, my daughter has done very little maintenance on it with the exception of an oil change here and there so I knew the list was going to be long. Jack was very helpful and professional. Although the check engine light didn't come on, he highly recommended we tune the vehicle up (it still had the original plugs & wires) and the steering tie-rods and box were so bad that the it's a wonder they were still attached. Once all of that was done, my daughter picked the van up and said it drove like a dream. Because there was no code to know what the real issue was, we took a swing at the things we knew needed to be fixed. After driving it for a day, the same issues started taking place again. However, this time the check engine light did come on. The symptoms were similar to what the issues were before and being that I was back in AZ, I called Jack to tell him the van had died. Jack was unbelievable; he contacted a tow company to pick the van up (we have AAA), provided my daughter with a courtesy vehicle, ran a diagnostic check on the van and found that it had an electrical problem. He had the part in stock and replaced it the very next day. Jack didn't charge us for the courtesy vehicle (which was huge because we have 4 grandchildren), the tow or the labor for the installation of the new part. We were charged $46 - 5% for being a, AAA card holder and my daughter is thankfully back on the road driving a safe, good running van. It's very rare that I review businesses. I work for Go Daddy and we know a little something about customer service. I think it's fair to say that The Streamwood Casey Automotive knows a little bit about customer service as well. Jack went way above and beyond in my opinion to make sure the safety and disruption of my daughter and grandchildren were a priority. So extremely disappointed. One of the workers, Ollie I think he said his name was, called me and asked which oil I wanted. I said standard because that's what I've been putting in it since I bought my car in 2012. The worker told me that I was putting in the wrong oil and needed synthetic. I told him that I've been using standard for years because the dealership told me I could use either. He then asked me if I have ever lifted my hood and if I could read. I'm writing this review for my 83 year old father in-law. He goes to Casey Automotive for general maintenance and on his last visit some work was recommended. When he returned to have the work completed he authorized "all the work" and didn't realize that he authorized $1700.00 of repairs. He was upset and asked me to call and review the work completed. I'm a service manager for a high end car line and have been in the automotive service industry for over 40 years. The gentleman that I spoke to explained everything to me and the price was fair for the work that completed. They actually went above and beyond my expectations and I feel comfortable knowing that my father in-law is taking his car to a place I would do business with. You can't put a price on piece of mind. This location is not convenient for me but I go out of my way to get my cars serviced here. The staff is friendly and they know what they are doing. I'm busy professional with 3 kids so I don't have the time to wait for repairs and I can't go without a car. Casey Auto hooked me up with a courtesy car (my kids liked the courtesy car better than my own car) and I was able to keep my appointments. Auto repairs bills are expensive and nobody likes paying them, but these guys are trustworthy and fair with the pricing, which makes it a little easier. Took a car from a dealer to get a used car inspection. They put it up right away (on a busy Saturday) and gave us an immediate assessment. The car was a dog and there was over $2000.00 worth of work needed. They advised us not to make the purchase. Thank God there are some honest people left in the world. My experience with this automotive shop was absolutely disappointing and upsetting. I initially contacted the store person about diagnosing the engine light on my car. He said they will charge $90 odd dollars for testing or $69.95 using the coupon and If I go ahead with any repair work quoted, the diagnosis test charges will be DEDUCTED from the total repair bill. Of course if I don't go ahead with the repair work, I only owe them the testing charges. I agreed to have the car repaired and when the time to pay the bill came, the store person absolutely DENIED he offered these terms and added the diagnosis charges to the repair bill. He made me look like I was making up a story. Now I regret not going to my mechanic across my home who offered a similar deal but he had no specials/coupon for the diagnosis. Atleast he would have deducted the testing charges from the repair bill. I WILL NEVER EVER go back to this mechanic who are dishonest and have no respect for their customer and typically misguide you about their charges. One should stick to their own mechanic who you trust and not be fooled by these coupons offered by bigger franchises. read more

My husband and I couldn't be more grateful for our experience with Casey Automotive. While driving from Minneapolis, MN to Toronto, ON (yup, that's more than an 800 mile drive), our car broke down in Hoffman Estates, IL. We called AAA and they were able to connect with Casey Automotive as they are one of their preferred service providers. Once our car had been towed to Casey's an hour before their closing time, they took it in immediately to diagnose what was wrong. They figured it out and gave us a very reasonable quote. Unfortunately they didn't have the parts in stock and had called three other shops in the area to check, but Casey's guaranteed that they would have the parts by the next morning for us. In the meantime, they suggested hotels in the area we could stay at for the night and the Manager, Jack, even drove us to our hotel on his way home and then offered to have one of his staff pick us up the next morning to bring us back to the shop if necessary. Jack and his staff were incredibly nice, intelligent, informative, and not once, did we ever feel like we were being ripped off. Their shop opened at 9:00am the next day and they had our car ready to go at 9:30am; we couldn't have even wished for better. The shop is really nice too - very clean, a nice selection of reading material and a gourmet coffee machine. From the time I spent in the waiting room, they seem to have a large female clientele so if you're a female and looking for a trustworthy mechanic, this should be your go-to. While I don't wish anyone car trouble on a road trip, if you do breakdown, you should hope that it's in Hoffman Estate, IL and if you're lucky enough to live in the area, you would be silly to not bring your car there. Casey's in Streamwood does not take appointments, it is a first come first served operation, so get there early. As far as I know, you cannot request a specific mechanic to work on your car. The staff is nice, courteous and tries to assist each customer based on their needs. They excel at providing quick oil changes, tire rotations, and simple repairs. They can provide other automotive services. They do charge for diagnostic checks (expensive$$). They do provide loaner cars if the service is going to take a while and is going to be expensive to repair. In my experience, some of the mechanics do not have the skills to adequately repair tricky electrical problems. Repairing electrical systems on automobiles is a learned skill and the shop should be training their people on it, and not have them learn on the job, hit or miss, at the customer's expense. There is no shame in saying to the customer, 'I cannot fix this for you today, but bring it back and my electrical guy will do it for you next week.' This was not my experience at Casey's. My electrical repair was a big expensive miss and I was there for 3 hours. I was charged $$$ for electrical diagnostic testing, service, and labor. The problem was not fixed when I left. It was sometimes working before my visit, but afterwards it did not work at all. I left with a broken electrical system, a future bill for a new part, and an estimate for the future work at 250% more than the original bill already paid that day. No attempted was made to offer a refund or even a partial refund for the inadequate initial repair. I think I have to chock it up as a lesson learned on my part and move on. I just don't make enough money to afford to use Casey's for all of my service needs, but I do plan on continuing to use them for simple auto maintenance because the staff is so nice. read more
