Bought a prime rib from here for our Christmas dinner. Very good hunk of meat at a reasonable price. As everyone else has said, the butchers are terrific and answered all of our questions with no issues. The rest of the store can be a bit pricey, but butchers in the western suburbs can be hard to come by so they are worth checking out. read more

Casey's is my go to place for superb steaks & meats. Jewel will do when it's just me and the wife on a weeknight. But Caseys is where you have to go when looking for some nice cuts of meat for special occasions or having guest. (As one reviewer said a nicer than normal meal) They have a heart of loin I think it is, it's AWESOME for kabobs! We cut it into quarters and cook it on a skewer by itself, no more than med-rare! Steaks, take your pic. You can't go wrong with any of the steaks just please for the sake of having an awesome cut of meat, don't overcook it. They have pre-cleaned and frozen rabbit as well. You can find some different types of game meats like quail, venison, rabbit, etc. We like quartering up the rabbit and slow cooking it in a few cans of either cream of mushroom or cream of celery. Brown the outside in a skillet with oil first, then just add the cream sauce, cover on low heat, and slow cook for 2-3 hours. We have a lot of fun with this place. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. When people talk about Gene and Georgettis and Chicago steakhouses I always tell them that if you want a good steak, and I mean a really good steak, go somewhere like Casey's and cook it yourself. read more

I love Casey's and have been going there for 13-14 years. There's no way to get better ground chuck, ground round, or ground sirloin in the area. We even like their ground lamb, but the beef is the best. The steaks are top notch--especially the porterhouses and rib eyes. My kids grew up on their food and none of us ever want ground beef from Jewel or other chains. I can make an incredible burger consistently with their high quality beef. The deli is very good too--I love the red skin potato salad. This is all coming from someone who loves to cook and appreciates good quality ingredients. I spent a lot of money at this grocery store as it was my first trip to the store and a it was a holiday weekend. The butcher at the meat counter was rude but he was busy from the holiday rush. When we checked out I asked for the bags to be packed light because of pain in my hands and shoulder, so the bags were packed extra heavy. Need I say more? read more

I went to Casey's to check out their selection and I happened to be there while they were grilling outside. There was a line so I was curious. I got in line to order a burger but the guy in front of me said they have the best tacos. I tried them and boy was he right! The skirt steak tacos were amazing and their fresh salsa bar was wonderful. The meat was moist, tender, and very flavorful. I'm a classic taco guy so I only put onions and cilantro on it and let the meat speak for itself. It was fantastic! The meat portion was very generous. I could have easily made a meal of just one. But of course I got two. The only downside and why i didn't give 5 stars is because it's $6 per taco. It's worth every penny but just expensive enough that its only going to be an occasional treat and not a regular stop. Fantastic tacos! read more

Top notch deli and butcher shop. A great selection staffed by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Surprisingly enough the grocery items are not much more expensive than big stores and this place is much easier to get in and out of. Produce selection is excellent as well even if sometimes its a little more expensive. Higher quality sometimes costs a little more. Deli always has rotating specials on meat, cheese and salads. It's tough to find a good butcher with good meat these days. Casey's Foods is the place to go. I regularly get the New York Strip Steak and I have never been disappointed with the cut. Another one of my favorites is their Taffy Apple Salad. Yummm! I feel that the steaks here (cooked correctly) put to shame any regular steakhouse and are comparable if not better than the higher end steakhouses I've been to. And fear not on the "cooked correctly" part. Just ask one of their butchers. These guys are some of the most knowledgeable I've ever dealt with. So about 2 1/2 years ago I was planning my Step Sons Birthday. We decided on an Army theme. We were new to Naperville an I lived an worked close to a Dominick's. So thought best place to go. Boy was I wrong. The bakery dept. Let's just saw was a Very bad expirence an I was only in order process glad I did not get past the upsetting call. So after I was done with that debocial I googled bakeries near me. An was led to Casey's an did some research to find out The owner of the store had a huge part of Mike's Meat Market in Villa Park where I grew up. The Bakery not only did my cake Beautifully but was exceptional in customer service. So my Father in Law was so impressed by the cake. As he went on for months about it. We have now made it a tradition to get his birthday cakes here from here on out. Last year I spoke to a wonderful man Julius an he helped me with my GreenBay Packers cake. I have not tasted any food from this store. This review is not about the quality of the meat. I was there for the first time today. The first thing I do when I visit a store that prides itself on its meat is to look at their Porterhouse steaks. Casey's selection was abysmal. The steaks were in a row stated as being Porterhouse. There were several steaks that would qualify as being Porterhouse, albeit with the minimum of tenderloin, and the rest would qualify as T-Bones (so why wasn't there a separate section labeled T-Bone?) However, there was one in that section that had a nub of meat where the tenderloin should have been. I pointed that out to one of the butchers. He claimed that it was beef tenderloin. It looked like a nub of gristle to me. If I ordered a Porterhouse in a steakhouse and the waiter brought that thing out...well, I can't see that happening. It was a strip steak, not a Porterhouse. I am not considering prices either, but strictly proper labeling. There is no excuse for the practice of labeling steaks that contain little to no tenderloin as being Porterhouse. If you are curious what a Porterhouse and T-Bone look like, there are plenty of examples online. The Porterhouse is known as "two steaks in one" because it includes the strip steak and tenderloin (filet mignon). It is really good stuff, but not so here. $9.99 a pound for chicken salad. I forgot what the Greek pasta salad was priced at, but it was a lot of money for pasta. The prices are not moderate. UPDATE 09/18/2016 I stopped in the other day but they didn't have any Porterhouse steaks on display. I asked one of the men behind the counter about another cut of meat, the bone-in sirloin steak and he didn't know what I meant by "round bone" and "flat bone". So much for knowledgeable. read more

I have been to Casey's Foods once and was not disappointed. They have a large selection of Nitrate Free lunch meat and organic produce. The prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly. Its located next to Trader Joes so its the perfect one stop shop! I dont frequent that Trader Joes as much as the TJ in Downers Grove, so I just have to remember that its there. read more

Awesome place! They have such a wide variety of meats, breads, and produce that this is my go-to location when cooking a nicer than normal meal. The meats are all very fresh and such nice cuts, although you will pay more here than the chain grocery store. The quality easily outweighs the prices and the service was very friendly. I went at about 1:00 pm and fresh breads were still readily available, which was nice to see. I also watched a member of the staff freshly preparing fruit salads, which is refreshing to see. Love this place! Ordered a fabulous sirloin tip roast at the last hour expecting to be turned down the weekend of NY's. This place is really as good as it gets. The meat counter is amazing and the butchers are always willing to help me get the right cut of meat for a recipe or provide suggestions. It's fun to go there. The deli has good variety. Although many of the other products can be pricey, you can easily go to Trader Joe's next door and stock up on those items. The butchers are super helpful and knowledgeable. The meats are always fresh and good. I make a special trip to the store when I want to purchase beef, pork, poultry or fish. If I need advice on an unfamiliar cut of meat for a new recipe or cooking methods / times, the butchers are happy to provide guidance. The deli has a great selection and are also very service oriented. The produce is high quality. The bakery has a good selection, including seasonal items, such as hot cross buns during Lent. Some of the cashiers have been there for decades. They are really friendly. Shopping at Casey's is a fun experience. So, I'm basing my star rating on the store as a whole. The deli and butcher counters get 5 stars, but the rest of the store is about a 1....It's like a whole different world when you leave the deli counter! I usually go for the deli. It's always busy, so you have to grab a number and wait your turn. You're always greeted with a smile and an energetic "how may I help you?" when approaching the counter. They have a large selection of sandwich meats, cheeses, and prepared pastas/various side dishes. They also offer a fresh daily soup. The meats offered in the butcher shop are always high quality and fresh, because they chop them in house. When you leave the deli/meat area, you walk through aisles of groceries that make you have a mini heart attack looking at the prices! And the cashiers are awful....you can barely muster up a smile from any of them. I don't understand how the deli/meat clerks can be so delighful, and everyone else looks like they hate being there. If you could pay at the meat counter it would be perfect! But you can't, so you just have to deal with the unpleasant cashiers. Totally worth it though for the the amazing goodies! read more

I love this store. It is like stepping back in time. The are small but beat the prices at my Jewel and they have an awesome deli counter. They re-wrap the produce to get that bad strawberry out of the package and they have at least three butchers there every day ith the best meat selections. Our family primarily goes to Casey's for the butcher and/or deli shop. The food is fresh and the staff is very friendly. The prices are a little bit higher than other grocers and a few of the selections (non-deli/butcher) are limited. So, large shopping runs are made elsewhere. Nevertheless, give Casey's a try.
