Sat down and was told by the asian bartender cash only. Happily paid cash for 3 drinks (1 for me and 2 more in our company). Few minutes later asian bartender abruptly took our drinks and said no cursing you have to leave. We were in shock thinking this has to be a joke but he was dead serious. I said oh "S" while we were having a private quiet conversation amongst ourselves and this guy had a power trip. No warning no explanation of this BS rule. No wonder they take cash only. I come here often, good price and good vibes here, however one day I came in here with friends and my friend ordered a mojito, while making the drink we saw the bartender make the drink with another already empty drinks mint, he pulled it out of the drink , that had a napkin inside, and put in my friends drink to make the cocktail. This bar has too many restrictions,. I understand that cursing can get out of hand but this place monitors your conversations and will ask you to refrain from any cursing. Or you will asked to leave. Also, the bartender Erin has no discretion and is very disrespectful when addressing any situation, he is very opinionated, judge mental, and seems to be a bit homophobic.! They also do not allow caps or tanks tops to be worn in the bar. When they do have jazz it is okay nothing professional or no stage. The environment is early 60's and quite antiquated. I would honestly be careful drinking at this bar! Went here with a few friends one night on a weekday, it was pretty lonely at this time. We all ordered drinks and then went to the back for a bit to smoke. Our drinks were covered with a napkin, as anyone should do. We came back in and finished our drinks. AFTER THAT.... Don't understand the amount of negative reviews on here. As a woman of color I've never felt unwelcome here. Never got any indication of racism. Casey's is a true American treasure. It's like a place that time forgot. Walking in makes you feel like you stepped back a few decades. It's inhabited by an assortment of elderly locals who always look happy, and always seem to be having a great time. Remember to bring cash, they don't take cards. But the drinks are the cheapest in the Valley. You can't go wrong with a $4 Guinness. The live music is worth coming in for. I've happened to come in on their jazz night, which was a great show! They played some wonderful loungey music that made a wonderful addition to the scenery. Great place to go on a date, or to unwind from the crummy work week.
