This is all about the food since I did a pickup at 7:50 and they close at 8. The garlic chicken should have been labeled SHAVED!!!!!!! Paper thin like for a chicken cheesesteak sub, horrible! Took a previous yelpers advice on the general tso's chicken and I am 100% certain that said yelper is not a vampire because my car smells like a garlic factory which is great because I could bathe in garlic and be perfectly content. Onions Onions Onions !!! This used to be a good carry out restaurant, but now their food has gone down hill-- because they use large wedges of white onions and NO other vegetables in their dishes. The chicken is good, but be sure to place your order with no onions if you want vegetables with your meal. we have ordered Chicken chow mein, Mongolian Beef , and orange Chicken . New to Nixa, we gave this restaurant a try. We ordered Cashew Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken for pick up. First, we waited in the drive thru line for over 20 minutes. The lady seemed to have forgotten about the drive thru when she came to the window. The order was substantially pricier than the price listed on their online menu. This needs to be updated. This is where our family always goes to get asian food in Nixa. It's been consistent through the years. It's just average food not too great not bad. They're very accommodating if you want extra this or less that. We always add extra veggies. It was really disappointing when they started charging for extra sauce. Especially since we're regulars. Inside dining is SMALL there's hardly any space. We always call ahead and go through drive thru to pick it up. Wish they had their prices online and updated them frequently because they adjust them randomly. It's always very clean, service is always A+. We never wait long in the drive thru. One major downside is they don't have steamed rice. With allergies it's important to have that... We can't get any rice without eggs. I hope to see an adjustment in that soon. read more

I was on a search for the best cashew chicken in the Ozark/Nixa area. Shanghai Buffet - meh. Canton Buffet - meh. Hong Kong Inn - meh. They all tasted about the same: not much flavor, the rice was bland, and the chicken wasn't crunchy or juicy. I must say, Cashew Inn is a step above the other places I mentioned. The rice is fairly bland, but the chicken is good, and the cashew sauce has an incredible, bold flavor. Their cashew chicken to-go includes a good portion of chicken with cashew sauce, but for whatever reason, they only fill one of the three sections with rice, so there is absolutely not enough. They do normally include a wonton, but it doesn't make up for the extreme lack of rice. I normally ask them to do double rice, instead of the wonton. My wife and I went through the drive-thru one more time recently, and I realized I am just not satisfied with Cashew Inn. While the cashew chicken is reasonably priced at under $6, nearly every single other item on the menu is at least $8, some nearing $10. My wife got the Sesame Chicken, which was over $8 for the same size portion as my cashew chicken. It tasted great, but it just wasn't worth the extra cost. Maybe part of the problem here is that we've recently found Thai Xpress in Ozark. Their prices are so much lower, and the food is better, in my opinion. That's what I'm talking about. So that probably spoiled us on Cashew Inn. To sum it up, Cashew Inn's cashew chicken is great and at a great price. Nearly everything else on the menu is way too expensive, and the portion size isn't big enough for how much it costs. This was the first time we tried Cashew Inn Cashew Out. I looked over their online menu and selected Hunan Chicken for my husband and Spicy Mixed Vegetables for myself. I specifically chose a chicken dish that did not contain breaded chicken and a vegetarian dish. I placed the order a little before 4pm to pick up at 4:20 (i.e., should not have been terribly busy yet). When my husband got the order home, both dishes were the wrong thing. The Hunan Chicken was described as "tender chicken slices mixed with fresh broccoli, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, yellow onions". What we got was breaded chicken with some other mixture of vegetables. The mixed vegetables contained meat (I called the restaurant and they said they put in chicken in it--not stated on the menu), which I couldn't eat. The restaurant offered a credit but I just decided we will never go there again. read more
